After thirty years of wondering why my landscape was not the beehive of activity(sorry...) I expected it to be, I realized I'm not growing what the local wildlife thrives upon. So now I'm rethinking how to bring more life to my space.
One plant I do think should get more attention in a pollinator garden is the snow square stem, Melanthera nivea. I have never seen a plant draw in more pollinators than that one.
Thanks for the good work you are doing!

How do you keep the birds from eating all your seeds? Do you cover with anything?

We don't but you could purchase bird netting to cover your plants. However, providing seeds for native and migratory birds in the area also adds to a diverse habitat in your garden. Some seed can even be dispersed by birds as well. Thanks for your interest and happy planting!
