This is probably the largest project I've worked on.
The footage and script for this video were produced over half a year ago, around December. I cannot express how rewarding putting this together over all this time has been!

Seeing some of those scenes in the games genuinely brought back some weird nostalgia for me. I didn't even know Riddle School had that kinda place in the back of my mind, but I'm glad it did, and still does.

@@AAHumann_ That´s okay, opinion respected, I am one of those people who try to see the good in others, like if someone did something horrible yet take the time to reflect on what they did, then I think their redeemable, but if they don´t and continue doing what they did without remorse, then they are a horrible person and deserve to rot in jail for all eternity, I do not see any good in genocidal dictators though, it´s the only times I want someone dead.

@@AAHumann_ I know that, I am not saying that I think everything is all sunshine and rainbows, I know that there are people who are just so plain bad and disgusting, and just overall not redeemable in the slightest, even if they say they apologize, they could also be saying that to try and get away with it, I am naturally a positive person but not overly positive and see the world as everyone being all good, if you know what I am trying to say.
Man I did not realise there was so much lore to the Riddle School games. I played the first couple and clearly missed out on a lot. It sucks what happened with Jonochrome but this is a clear example of separating the product from the creator
There's a lot of fun things to find in this series (tile puzzles excluded). Considering playing the games on flash archives means you dont have to give Jonochrome a cent, its a fun few hours for a trip through newgrounds history!

Man, I swear the wait for Riddle Transfer 2 felt like AGES only to realize it's been longer since the release of RT2 than the wait for it, man time flies. I was genuinely shocked to learn about the Jonochrome situation. This series really meant a lot to me and this is a really great video.
He actually did nothing wrong and wasn’t grooming a minor, they were just joking around and being friends, nothing romantical was actually happening, so yeah. Please don’t hate him anymore

This game brings back so many memories. I always love games that start out small, riddle school and Henry stickman being some of my favourites. I completely forgot how good the games were (especially 5), this has inspired me to go play riddle school again, or at least watch someone play them.
Agree with you a ton, I have a really similar attachment to Henry Stickmin too! I hope you end up going back and playing through them again, its always fun to look back at these things!
I rewatched DanTDN's playthrough like 3-5 times already and I still enjoy this series
I really feel like he was the one who put this series in the spotlight
18:06 is one of the most unexpected and underrated gags in the game
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that's a peak visual gag.
I adore that part
At first I'm pretty sure he just made it as a simple game inspired by Pico's School, but the way it progress might be one of my favorite things about this series. The various way the characters ended up after we did an action like Zack being frozen just to be used again in RS5, the way he connected the April Fool's RS4 to the lore, it actually has a real solid plot and twist, and more complicated puzzles (which I actually hate to do, lol). The easter eggs, the absurd endings and flying pigs, but making sense in all of it and the simple, common, yet actually powerful message at the end: "don't skip school".
No matter how Jon is doing now and his unfortunate news, I will always be eternally grateful to him for this series. Thanks for the video! Aah, nostalgia.
Ive loved Riddle school since i was very young. It was my escape (pun totally intended). All throughout elementary school I was obessed. Now im starting highschool and i recently found it again and im obessed. Again.
I rlly hate what happened with Jon. But you can love the product and hate the creator.

Riddle School has always been at top of the list of things I remember from Newgrounds, along with the ultimate showdown, dad n me, alien hominid, super smash flash and many more.

i absolutely LOVED the riddle school games, mainly the riddle transfer ones though, but i will never forgive them for making me think "platitude" and "plongitude" were actual things... (i know platitude is an actual word but i will constantly cringe upon remembering that i confidently answered a history question with "platitude and plongitude".)

Up there with the most random games and kids cartoons I could find at the time,where people just experimented for the fun of it because it's the internet.really great to see these games get some love and be reminded of how good the plot actually was

Riddle School was such a big part of my childhood. I vividly remember always trying to beat the games as fast as I could with my friends on the school computers lol.

I think it was something that had to be mentioned, especially so anyone thinking of playing the games could do so however they felt comfortable. I'm glad people have taken the way I've handled it the right way haha.

so glad this video found me. dantdm's gameplays of this game was some pivotal character development for elementary school me. and this game was just overall just fundamental to younger me its so nostalgic just hearing the riddle school 5 music sent me back ages ago. i wont ever forget this series for its impact on me and seriously hope the creator is getting the support and help he needs because he seemed like a really down to earth person.

When Riddle Transfer 2 came out I didn't realise how nostalgic the series was to me and really affected me.
I only ever saw riddle school on youtube when i was like 7-8 years old, but its still wierdly nostalgic
I recently revisited the entire series, it was only after I replayed when I found out what he did. It hurts, but Ive been told many times; "Love the art, hate the artist."

I love this series. 3 was always my favorite. The later games may be "objectively" better but the 3rd one is the one I find myself coming back to the most after beating it

Man I remember watching dantdm playing this a while back. It's the first time I learned about newgrounds, it's sorta inspired me as I grew up ^^
Even though the series is finished, I feel like there could’ve been some thing more. Not another full fledged story, I feel something is missing, I don’t know what it is, but it should probably be explained in the riddle series.
Riddle Transfer was a Very, VERY special game to me, it was the first game i was scared off lol.

Edit: Just finished the video and I honestly had 0 clue the creator did anything bad nor do I care to find out. I am glad that people are still able to make videos about these kinds of things without having to tint it through a lens. and this might trigger some people out there but things like Riddle School Chic-fil-a Harry potter, and many other things out there, sure there may be bad or at the very least controversial people who created them, but man those are my childhood. I am honestly just kinda scared what the world is becoming as I grow up more and more. I hope people stay safe out there, and once again a big thank you to Datache. holy I remember playing riddle school all the way as a wee little cretin, trying and failing to play the new games and old games in chronological order, getting lost, finding a walkthrough after doing the game halfway through it after spending 10 minutes stubborningly thinking that I don't need a guide. Riddle School was one of my favorite games to watch when I was growing up.
DanTDM, and now more recently (as of a few years ago) CaptainSauce, have both made videos of this game that will stay by my side forever.

Little me was so invested in the story when I played it. As soon as I got to the aliens, I was hooked! This has to be the most iconic flash game to me. I don't support Jonochrome at all, but I like to separate the art from the artist. So glad he didn't go with his original idea for the first game of... you know.
