    Even if money was no object, I'm pretty sure I'd still take the 100" Hisense U8. That's an absolutely amazing TV for $3000, normally $5000. Runner up is the 98" TCL QM7, a 98" mini LED for only $2000 is crazy.

    So what do you guys do with all the tv's you guys are trying out?

    • @drustill
      @drustill หลายเดือนก่อน

      I worked in marketing for a tech company for over a decade, so I can help out. These drvifes are generally referred to as “seed” or “marketing” units-earmarked for distribution to a variety of channels in order to facilitate marketing & promotional activity such as, you guessed it, their TH-cam reviews. Naturally, given their over quarter million subscriber base and generally positive engagement scores (I work in social media marketing now, go figure), vendors, HiSense in this case, will prioritize these heavy hitters and ensure they are given units early enough to produce content in a timely fashion (not an urgently for TVs, which are high ticket items that are usually shopped around and not front-loaded from a sales perspective with big launch day buzz i.e. the good ol days (depending who you’re asking) of iPhone launches, with folks camping out outside their fave Apple stores. That all said, in rare instances, these devices can be gifted to certain individuals, but generally speaking they are primarily leveraged for these activities and HiSense would manage the unit contractual agreements (fulfillment, marketing output, key dates etc.) and the logistics to ship to the various parties. Sooooo…
      TLDR: in most cases, they are sent to them for the purposes of creating content, as per agreements with HiSense, then shipped back to them for potential redistribution to other outlets and/or facilitate addition marketing/promo campaigns and activities.

    Admittedly typing this as I’m starting the video, so forgive me if this is answered. Has Hisense said anything about availability for these? They’ve been Out Of Stock or Sold Out on BB since they were first listed over a month ago. I actually went into a Magnolia BB two weeks ago and had a special invoice made up ordering one to see if that would help get it to me. As of yesterday, the gentleman said they are still trying to locate one. What gives Hisense? Here we are 10 months past the CES unveiling, and a week before Black Friday and there’s no inventory? Make it make sense.

    The viewing angles really look great on that thing. That might be the killer aspect of all things. I'm really interested when some in-depth comparisons come out between the QM8 and this thing, brightness levels at different content, black levels, blooming performance etc. Right now I've been considering a QM7 98 because at $2k it's hard to beat but it's out of stock everywhere, so I've been considering whether it's worth ponying up the cash to the $4k QM8 which seems like an amazing TV but honestly the viewing angles on both those seem pretty poor and I have a really wide set seating around where the TV will be. Unfortunately this UX98 doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere either.

      They just got more stock at BB this morning, I jumped on that… don’t wait it you want a 98” QM7 (which if you compare is by far the best value, you need to spend $4k to get anything brighter, and brightness (nits) are what makes these things really pop… the QM8 is $4k if I remember? The QM7 is $2300, but hopefully if BB drops the price I can match it… you people who got a 98QM7 for $2K got a steal!! Good luck!

    TCL is still the better brand. The upcoming QM9 will smoke this thing.

    Can anyone comment the 100” U8K? I really want to get it but there are no reviews and I don’t know if I trust Hisense as a brand. Currently have 77” CX and trying to decide between 83” C4 or 100” U8K

      The most reliable 98"/100" is probably the Sony X90L 98", though the UX is hands down the best looking TV in that size. Worried about reliability? Just get an extended warranty.

    Picked up the 115” TCL this week as it went on sale for $17K. 15% discount isn’t great - but we are about to see up to a 60% tariff against China hit. So we are potentially down to the wire on great prices for big TV’s. Tariff’s likely extend to other Asian countries that refuse to also tariff China. Inflation is about to go wild.
    Will just watch it all go down from my nice 115” monster.

      Was that the cover up story you used to convince the wife you spent 17k on a tv? "babe we gotta pull the trigger now on the TV or we'll never be able to get one for $17,000 again. we will regret this for the next 20 years!"🤣🤣🤣

    Why Makes 98" TV? Why Not Makes Total 100" Tv? 😊

    • @mikej6565
      @mikej6565 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's all about the panel sizes available from manufacturers. The 98" panel in this TV is leaps ahead of anything else used in any other 98" or 100". It uses an ADS-pro panel made by BOE, compared to the VA panels in every other TV. When comparing side by side there's no comparison. Hisense is smart for using that panel plus so many Mini LED dimming zones.

    "Oh, that Enormous 98" Hisense UX is nothing more than a pile of garbage. And let me tell you, it can absolutely butcher your 1080p Blu-Rays by making them look like a mess of overprocessed, upscaled nonsense. My beloved SAMSUNG 32" Class FHD (1080P) Smart LED TV (UN32N5300), on the other hand, keeps everything crisp and classic. No need for oversized TVs, my friend, when you can have the perfect picture in a compact package."
