- Classic BMW 2002 BUT BETTER With HONDA POWER!
By Aaron Gaghagen
Dan Lynch is a pretty creative person. That is obvious after taking one quick look at his BMW 2002. There are custom little touches everywhere. But, we're spoiled by Honda quality and BMWs don't interest us much at all. It's when he pops the hood that this classic really captures our attention. It's better driving through Honda engineering.

Nothing but Hondas. That’s exactly what you’ll find at VTEC Academy. Because Soichiro Honda’s passion for motorsports and his company’s ability to express that in the machines they produce make a whole lot of sense. VTEC Academy is a place for Honda fans who feel the same way and who seek the most accurate technical information and commentary to continue that very legacy and make whatever Honda it is that they drive just a little bit better. And more fun.
The editors and contributors of VTEC Academy are some of the industry’s most experienced and trusted, which means the informative, unique perspectives you need are all right here. That 2nd to 5th shift is on point...
Finnish guy named Tony Suominen did this about 10 years ago. He was in a Finnish tv show called Virittäjät (tuners) where a tuner brings their car to a track and former F1 driver Mika Salo tries it out and then race time attack style Mika vs the tuner. That 2002 was AMAZING on track.
Looks amazing, did an M3 swap in our 76 BMW 2002 almost 25 years ago, miss the car
this is awesome ! my local shop did a swap on a e30 chassis, the K fit great also. I got an s54 swapped 325i wagon so now I can dedicate my dc2 gsr to racing. One day I hope to build a k swapped e30/36, best of both worlds :)
HELL YEAH! 🎉🎉
Two of the best compact cars of the 70s are the 2002 and 510!
Holy Fab Skills.😯
It’s so well done.
@@VTECAcademy I could tell, a lot of attention to detail.
Always seen this square end 2002 on Pinterest , finally got to see the entire work that was done to her she looks good for a square rear.
I first saw this 2002 at Four til Four cars and coffee. Very clean build and part of why I chose Elevens for my paint work.
do i spy spitfire shift knob........that rocks
I feel like the 2002 is a cool platform for honda swaps, esp in cali to avoid emissions
Swaps that aren’t Hondas are cool too. More please. 🙏
cool car, easyish swap, k series is way harder to fit into it, due to the subframe and suspension components :)
My brother had one with k20a2 😅
How does the F20C compare to the S14 from the E30 M3? 🙂
Wow 😮 this car sick
Oh yeah
This gentlemans build is amazing! Made my day watching this video.
Brian I will keep bugging you until you pull that mark 1 vw into the shop and fab up some k and j swap mounts 😂
Yeah, gotta do that.
Beautiful 😍
These were brand new when I grew up awesome to see them still around
Really nice build! Too bad you couldn't find a "real" one with round taillights.
Been wanting to do a swap like this into my 510 but need to understand the wiring harness and ECU and cluster to make it work.
That would be awesome!
I haven’t started the video and I want an s2002.
hasport mount for bmw k swap kit
Right?? Or at least universal RWD K mounts.
IN!!!
So clean
Yep that's a pretty cool little BMW. 😎 👍
We thought so. Wait until you see his other Honda powered car!
