"Let me tell you about the Hymn of the Fayth. It was once a Zanarkand song, sung in defiance of Bevelle! Of course, the Yevon clergy of Bevelle forbade it. Then, as these things often go, those who disliked Yevon began to sing it. The Al Bhed, for instance. The Hymn of the Fayth became the symbol of defiance against Yevon. Yevon could do nothing but capitulate. They lifted the ban on the song, and spread a new story. They said the hymn was a song sung to soothe the souls of the dead. And so saying, they took the song and made it scripture. That's why today, the hymn is sung all over Spira. You could say that, though Zanarkand is gone from this world, it lives on in the song."

The same thing happened to me, FFX was my salvation. On the last day of high school my first girlfriend left me. I didn't know how to manage it. If I think about it now I'm ashamed, but that's how it was.
FFX saved me that summer, it made me forget and reflect.

When I first heard hymn of the faith in final fantasy X I loved it but this brought a tear to my eyes and the harmony of these four extraordinary members of the cloth made it so much better and i have now made this my song of remembrance to the fallen. God bless you and thank you for this remarkable piece of music.

old final fantasy music always makes me think of my brother. We played them together during our childhood, then later as teens we played on multiple systems in the same room. He died three years ago. The first thing after I found out was go listen to Cosmo Canyon. Our first and favorite was 7, then 10 is close behind. This video got me.

I have been longing for this version for many many years … this was the game of my childhood.
As a HC Final Fantasy X fan and heard probably all of the Hymn on the Fayth versions, this one is by far most striking, most hairraising and spine tingling

Many years ago when I was in the US Navy, the ship I was on at the time (USS John F. Kennedy, CV-67) pulled into Livorno, Italy. Me and a buddy took a tour bus up to the Leaning Tower of Pizza. We got to spend some time in the tower cuz you could still go up in it at that time. While that was pretty cool, there was something else that stood out more. There is a cathedral there that we got to visit. While we were in there, there was a group of... monks?... that were doing a chant/hymn something like this one. The acoustics in this cathedral are amazing, of course. This was many years before I got saved, but I remember this being one of the most spiritual moments of my life.
One of my all-time favourite Final Fantasy games, OSTs, and this is just downright haunting I love it.
