    Radios radios radios. Everyone conversing and everyone knows what’s going on. Your outside person or crew can check in and out. Get some to cover for bathroom breaks.
    We always gave out children’s dept one so if thereris something going on and they can hear the chatter they know they might need to start locking doors.
    I had a guy like that come to the church one time and the door being locked after we start, I met him out side and I deflected him and did not allow him entrance. We got him to leave the premises.
    This is a very good video and I plan on showing it to the team for us to talk about.
    Thanks for a great video.

    We lock the doors about 10 minutes after service starts. Someone then must stay in the foyer to let in late comers. If we don't know you, and you don't look right, you stay locked out.

    Our church security installed the Eufy camera system as an initial security system and plan on upgrading to wired security cameras both outside and inside the building. Locking the door and posting armed team members in predetermined positions has also been instituted along with continued team marksmanship & tactics training. Always train.

    We had an incident similar to this one during our Christmas Cantata. He never got aggressive, so we were able to work through the situation without having to put hands on him. In fact at the end of the service, we were able to walk him out of the building and to his car. This occurred not too long after the White Settlement Shooting.

    When you need folks to not panic, code words work. At an inner city middle school where I worked an announcement would be broadcast. “Mr. Principal’s name is wearing a red tie.” The tie color was the level of danger. Back then, we’d heard about non-custodial parents coming and forcefully taking their child from schools. If only that was our worry today.
    Preacher gets a signal and calls for a specific kind of prayer.
    “I think that right now we need to pray about - - -.” That signals people to begin moving with a purpose. Getting down below the seats with a reason to do so. That would out a dangerous person off their game and get people to where you want them to be.

    Our church needs to upgrade its camera system. I started it before I fell I’ll. I was praying that someone else would take on the project. 2 years later and nobody stepped up.
    God has given me strength now to get back to work.
    Please pray for me that I continue to be able to work.

    My background is in Criminology and Psychology and know that even pastors, along with police and anyone in any human services really need some training in mental health or at least being able to identifying mental illness because what you say and do can either escalate or de-escalate a situation real quickly.
    Finally, when it comes to safety, always evacuate if possible to a safe zone, but do not leave, call 911 (its recorded) keep all videos going and turn off audio.
    Leaving causes a traffic bottleneck for police arriving and securing the perimeter. All respective ministry leaders should be a part of the security team to secure those attending their respective ministry.

    Retired California LEO, living in Oregon. The church has an armed security team, but I'm unable to attend regularly, and don't know everyone on the team, but several are retired/active LEO's. I always sit in the very back near the entrance door, and carry my G19 under my jacket, two extra mags, a GSW trauma kit, and cuffs in a black fanny-type bag. In my truck I have an AR-15, optic, light/laser, extra mags and body armor. Great channel, Thanks brother

    Thank you. Good content. We are in process of installing a monitor in our foyer to watch all cameras around outside of church. Anyone that comes in will be able to see monitor. What’s your opinion ?

    • @ChurchSecurityAnswers
      @ChurchSecurityAnswers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Rick, I think as long as you can see it and monitor it that will work!! It certainly doesn't hurt for people to see that you have cameras either. Bonus is you can have minimal security persons (Like one) to monitor lobby and cameras at the same time. My only concern is the lobby traffic/people can be a bit distracting for one person with shaking hands and welcoming, which we need to do also!! So overall I think that is a good choice.

    Vigilance in terms of Lk 22:36 is right and meet, but vigilance in terms of spiritual warfare is moreso. Too many incidents are considered in terms of mental illness and too few in terms of demonic influence/occupation.
    Dr Ed Murphy has a comprehensive "Handbook For Spiritual Warfare."

    It's time to take security issues seriously considering the current state of the world. Cameras, door sensors, active sentries, limited entry points are all important considerations for big churches and small churches alike. 25+ yrs military, 19.5 yrs juvenile corrections (complete with personal threat to have my throat sliced) and 69 yrs on this earth, I can tell you there are evil, bad people all around! Stay safe and may your congregation stay safe also.

    I live in haughton moved here from Springhill la. I had the pleasure of having this very man as the plumber that home depot contracts out for warranty repairs. I was told this story by himself and it was not the repair call that I was hoping for. He's arrogant and calls himself a prophet and because I couldn't recite 3 Bible verses word for word with the correct book chapter and verse I was made to feel like I wasn't someone Jesus was going to let into the kingdom

    Good reminder point about soft targets. I'm comforted that more churches and schools are using security/safety teams. Many institutions are being sold on tech this and that....and tech has it's place. But tech won't stop an attacker.

    I found your channel and was very interested in learning what you had to say, since I'm trying to set up a church safety (and possibly security) team with a few men in the parish . However I found it very difficult to understand your guest, as he was speaking in a room obviously not designed to effectively transmit sound. I could barely understand him because of the echo in that room ... which made for a very unprofessional presentation. But the thing that really turned me off was when he made the claim that he is "one of only 2000 people in the world" trained in this DRE thing. That sliliness has evidently been debunked by multiple jurisdictions, and it was at that point that I decided not to subscribe to your channel. Sorry - stick to the facts -- don't make claims about being :"one of only a few people trained to recognize drug impairment", because any decent EMT can do the same thing. Good luck and God bless.

    Where does the Bible specifically mention church security? Just curious, not trying to buck anyone.

    • @MeCanik79
      @MeCanik79 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a silly question and you knew it when you asked it. The Bible doesn't mention it. However, all churches should have security in the world we live in. Remember the kid shooting up the church in South Carolina? He also didn't tell us specifically to secure our homes. But, he did tell a story of a strong binding a weaker man in his home because he wasn't prepared. Some things are just common sense. He shouldn't have to spell everything out. Just answering, not trying to buck anyone.

      By implication, God in Christ's order to take a sword and if you don't have one to sell your cloak and buy one. (Lk 22:36)
      The Scriptures also tell that all things are permitted but not all are expedient. Where are the specific Scriptures for a pulpit, a building or common meeting place? Are they permitted? Yes. Are they expedient? Yes. But I suspect your question was neither sincere nor do you care for an honest answer @kfluharty2865.

    • @brb1050
      @brb1050 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The bible doesn’t mention pianos, either. But it does mention often the use musical instruments in praise and worship.
      The bible doesn’t address kids church, Sunday school, etc. But those are means of discipleship.
      When Peter met with Ananais and his wife, there were young men on stand by to deal with the fall out of their lie.
      Jesus instructed the disciples to buy swords just before the betrayal by Judas.
      Security is common sense.

    • @raifcluster
      @raifcluster ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Bible also doesn't mention suits, ties, hoodies, or toilet paper, but these things are just common items in our modern civilization. Common sense thinking within the parameters of our freedom in Christ is the rule. I'm just saying.
