I've long been waiting for BR to interview VB but this this just feels too short and a missed opportunity. I wish there was a longer interview where they could have done a deep dive into his filmography and discussed how he has evolved as a writer director over the years.

Impressive interview! What sets BR apart is his willingness to leave comments untouched even when facing criticism, a practice that distinguishes him from the so-called nibba reviewers at Film Companion South.

Great to see them together in one conversation. 😻 A couple of years ago, probably around the release of Pataakha, Vishal Bhardwaj said in an interview with Rajeev Masand that he intended to adapt Shakespare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream into a film because he wanted to do a comedy. I can only pray that Tabu will be part of that project once it materializes. 🥰 Love them both! 💟

What a fantastic director in indian Cinema Vishal sir… absolutely crafted screenplay… micro level emotions captures from actors and BGM amazing… most most most underrated director… come to Rangoon movie, such a amazing movie except climax every aspect its a excellent movie… Trust me Vishal Sir was genius… unfortunately most people in india cinema are don’t know what talent is and what art is ?

Vishal is such an underrated genius. Can’t believe you reduced him to an indulgent poet Bharadwaj. You really need to read more badr, Faiz, Ghalib grow beyond your mylapore mambalam sensibilities and understand that vishal is also an accomplished composer apart from being a writer-director who weaves Urdu poetry, Shakespeare and sensitivity in a vey auteur sense. It is within this multifaceted nature of creativity that we find his true genius. His brilliance.
He is one of the most sensitive and tenacious storytellers of our time. None could’ve imagined Haider, Maqbool, Omkara or even that twenty minute short he came up with on an iPhone recently the way he would’ve.
    Look forward to watching Khufiya

It's his goddamn opinion and he's entitled to it, just as you are, he certainly appreciates Bharadwaj, just because of one errant phrase, doesn't meant he's dragging him down as an artist and director

@@govardhanposina17 One errant phrase you dare say! “I helped my uncle, Jack, off a horse.” One punctuation and you’re done having an uncle or a joke.
The idea behind this critique is to highlight how a shallow remark makes even an eminent voice like Rangan seem rather juvenile. He needs to raise the bar a little higher for us to not skip his videos.
I reserve the right to my opinions as I invest my time and energy and interest into a person who I believe can do much better.

Loved that Border name drop by Tabu, a film in which she had a blink-and-miss role. I can't even remember what role she played there, and she was likely only in a song or so. She really takes herself and her legacy very lightly, all her roles are equivalent to her. She always sounds like this, very relaxed and casual, considering the kind of roles she's done.

5:45 I love how poetic Haider as a film was. I feel like when u are choosing to make a film on a controversial topic sometimes only the poetry can do justice to the material b'coz u can't express the subject completely in visual form.

What was the objective of this interview? Talk about film and filmmaking or personal relationships 😮? No talk of what camera was used or which lens! No talk about how DP & Director collaborated to light scenes! We don't know even after so many years of watching VB movies what lens or cam he prefers!😢

Most of the time Tabu would be a side character in comedy films , don’t think i ever saw an actress with great comic timing after Sridevi. Looks like 1996 was a defining year for Tabu. Vishal had a bad phase in recent times but will check this out if there are good reviews. I liked Maqbool and Omkara but not Haider

Very short interview, and kind of boring. We mostly knew these things. BR should have asked more questions about Khufiya. Rather than wasting time on their professional bonding. As this is a movie promotion interview. After finishing the video I'm not quite curious about the movie.
