    Would you leave the dipstick tube in to send it to the machine shop for a rebore? Must be hard to get out.

      Yes I leave the tube in. My machine shop can work around them.

    When you rebuild the k301’s, do you leave the balancing gears out? I have owned a lot of kohler engines and have never had my balancing gears grenade out like some people have claimed.

    • @PullerbearEd
      @PullerbearEd  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I leave them out. They are somewhat safe at lower RPM but I never trust them. IMO it is not worth taking a chance of destroying a good engine

    How do you get off that pulley on the left that was never in the video

    • @PullerbearEd
      @PullerbearEd  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are asking about a pulley on the PTO end this engine didn't have one on it. If you want to know how to get the PTO clutch off a cub cadet there are 2 set screws and they are dubble stacked. (2 per hole) then its just lots of WD40 and maybe some heat.

    What tool did you use for removing the flywheel?

    • @PullerbearEd
      @PullerbearEd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was a harmonic balancer puller. Here is the link to the one I use. www.harborfreight.com/bolt-type-wheel-puller-set-62620.html

    How does this engine work I just bought an old international cub and I’m used to the spark plug being above the piston mine and your engine appears to be offset

    • @PullerbearEd
      @PullerbearEd  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It works the same as the other style the plug is off set for a better fuel burn.

      @@PullerbearEd I want to do a lawnmower engine rebuild sometime. It just seems like weird, uncharted territory but your right, it's all the same principles with different angles of looking at it. At least with the clone motors I work with I can pretty much make the parts interchange if they are close enough! I've probably had some really strange luck with my motors so far.
