Hi mate new to the channel the transits do have big issues with the wet Belt timing on them and also the injectors if the vans never had a wet belt I would highly recommend that you get the belts done as if they fail the van will need a new engine
@nathannewell6400 welcome to the channel 🤟 it's not a wet belt this one is a 2.2 chain driven, i made sure I wasn't buying g a wet belt engine because I know they have problems and are expensive to get sorted 😅
Be careful putting alloy wheels on it Sam. Your insurance could become invalid if you have a bump and have to make a claim. I put alloys on a old sierra many years ago and thought i would do the right thing and called my insurance company to tell them. To my surprise and anger they wanted to put my policy price up by a couple of hundred pounds. I never fitted them because of this. Please check first my friend. Love the channel by the way. Nice to see a young lad having a good go.
Thanks🤟, I'll be sure to check how it affects my insurance first I have seen that alloy wheels could reduce my average mpg so I may just end up sticking with steel wheels as I do around 800 miles a week😅
R.i.p. Vivian, sorry to hear about Vivian and hello ford transit, I've always been told you can't go wrong with a transit, plenty of room for a few bikes 😉
Thanks! Very sad to part way with Vivian like that I wish I had the time and skills to fix her but it's out of my wheelhouse👎 but I am very happy with my new transit and it is a bit more roomey in the back so I think a bike run to the auctions house is in order 👀😅
Luckily the newer ones don't suffer with too much rust it tends to be the older ones but it something I'll be keeping an eye out for anyways as I need this one to last me a while 😅😅
I lovecrhe transit had one myself also for delivery work, BUT the wet belt snapped on mine at 106k wasnt due till 150k apparently they have now changed it but if its near 100k get it bone yes expensie around a grand but far better than the 9 and half grand i got quoted for a new engine. But love the content keep it up
Ouch I'm sorry to hear that 👎 luckily mines an early one and a 2.2 so it's the chain not a wet belt but I'll be having the chain done around 120k just to be on the safe side 😅 thanks hopefully ill have lots of good content coming over the next few weeks 🤟🤟
Did you take fan belt off the vivaro to make sure it is not a pully making the noise. I had one before it ended up being the crankshaft pully that needed replacing.
Sadly not It was looking around 2k to get that done and as a self employed delivery driver I really didn't have the time to wait for it to be done I lost almost a weeks worth of work just trying to find a hopefully reliable new van 👎 just means I'll have to save alot more bikes and cars from the scrapyard to make up for that one 😅
bloody white van man 😂 ,but seeing as your amazon driver ,your forgiven lol :) the vivaro vans are pain in the arse ,the injectors always need doing once they go past about 75 thou . brother had one , there was always something wrong with it . got rid in the end .
If I could have found an orange one in my budget I wouldn't be a white van man any more... but maybe I could wrap it 🤔🤣 yeah sadly the vivaros do give alot of trouble I always said I would fix mine and drive it untill the engine is toast and sadly it happened alot sooner than I hoped for 👎
That's true but it's also my daily when I'm not in work so a few small tweaks here or there to make it more enjoyable for me will be money well spent 🤟
@Twistandgouk too many miles on the ones that are available these days 😅 unfortunately in my line of work vans don't last too long whatever you buy they all get killed by the rough farm roads of West Wales 👎
what was wrong with your van mate i have a 2012 rhd renault trafic and for about a year thought the injectors were dead as code reader showing injector fault ended up another garage said dpf needs deap cleen got that done for £60 have put over 400 miles on the clock and drives like a dream...code readers dont seem to tell you whats wrong some times easy job..
Sadly it's the bottom end knocking everyone I saw said the same thing and it's basically a new engine to fix it which was like 2 grand and not something anyone could do in a hurry for me so the van had to go 👎
Great van hope it does you well take care mate
Thanks, hopefully this one lasts me at least a couple of years 😅

Beautiful upgrade, definitely a good choice!
Thanks, I thought so too 🤟 I think I needs a raptor style face-lift though 👀😅
If that’s the engine with the wet belt then I’d get rid ASAP! If you think a Vivaro was bad just wait for the Ford problems!!

Nice Sam. Now, put your own stamp on it 😊
Thanks, I shall be soon enough 🤟
Goodbye to good old viv haha cracking new van bro! Trip hiking to brecon in that bad boy soon 🙌
Cheers bro, yeah we will have to do that soon!

Transits are lovely vans but have to watch for the rust bug underneath
Luckily the newer ones don't suffer with too much rust it tends to be the older ones but it something I'll be keeping an eye out for anyways as I need this one to last me a while 😅😅
Window wind deflectors are a quick easy win
I agree they are a must 🤟

I was going to say get the 2.2 with the chain stay safe out there.2@@SamsAutoAssortium
Nice van buddyyyyy 😊
Thanks 🤟
Definitely get the bodywork done before you do a coating….good looking van 🚐
Thanks! Yeah I think that's the way to go with it but need to do some work in it first to get some money back in 😅
Wet belt disaster waiting to happen.
Luckily not a wet belt engine this one is a chain which I'll have changed when it gets to around around 120k just to be on the safe side 🤟
Hi, are you interested in reviewing a battery tester?
I would be glad too, message my Facebook page for Sam's Auto Assortium to contact me :)

@niall6844 I didn't I had about 3 people tell me it was the bottom end knocking and I didn't really have time to mess with it or wait for a repair 👎
Was it not worth putting a recon engine in ?
Sadly not It was looking around 2k to get that done and as a self employed delivery driver I really didn't have the time to wait for it to be done I lost almost a weeks worth of work just trying to find a hopefully reliable new van 👎 just means I'll have to save alot more bikes and cars from the scrapyard to make up for that one 😅

Rip dpf out and get it mapped out, will save you alot of trouble in future
I can't say for 100% sure but I think someone has already had it mapped out, I know there is some sort of remap on the van 🤔
Don’t waste too much cash on a work van. It’s there to make you money.
That's true but it's also my daily when I'm not in work so a few small tweaks here or there to make it more enjoyable for me will be money well spent 🤟
Then transits are known for being mega unreliable hope it does.ypu well though
I don't think any van is reliable to be fair but hopefully this one gets me through the next 10-20k miles without too much of an issue 😅
@@SamsAutoAssortium old school transit smiley or mk1 merc sprinter, but gita get a solid one
@Twistandgouk too many miles on the ones that are available these days 😅 unfortunately in my line of work vans don't last too long whatever you buy they all get killed by the rough farm roads of West Wales 👎
I am a delivery driver for Uber and just eat in liverpool. My scooter engine blew the other week hoping it just need a new spark plug
Sorry to hear that it's not a good situation when your work vehicle breaks hope you manage to fix it easily !
