Rog here from the video, I would be remiss if I didn't also thank my friends Ken Porter for some of the concrete work and Richard Schad who helped me with some of the high-up carpentery. Also if I may, most of us don't use air conditioners in the summer, we use swamp coolers, they work like a champ here and run at a small fraction of the cost....
I love the desert and I was stationed at 29 Palms Marine Corps base, California and I explored all areas I was able to during my time off. Unfortunately I was living down in San Bernardino and it was even getting too crowded for me back in 1979 so I headed east to the land of the cold toilet seats, Missouri lol
I found this to be an interesting video. What person in their right mind would want to move there? Hilarious, as I have heard people say that before. Looks like Desert, Beautiful!
Visited Death Valley in July 1991, it was officially 126 degrees, wow, a lot of roads were closed off due to the extreme heat, went to Badwater, it was awesome to be in the lowest elevation in America, stopped at the motel there, not to stay, I was surprised that you could buy hard liquor and beer there, def want to go back there, but NOT DURING SUMMER! Happy trails.
My back and knees always feel better in the dry desert heat, I only wish my sinus' would as well. I would like to see a collab between you and wonderhussy sometime. Nice work Rockhopper!!
Wow, kayaking in Stehekin/Chelan was the last video of yours I watched, you really cover some territory! Glad you could meet up with Sarah, aka Wonderhussy. She's a special person for sure.
Great video! Really enjoyed it! I live here, maybe 3-5 miles as the crow flies, from Waikiki beach. Gotta say though; Tecopa looks like a way way way more chilled out place than here where I live. Always loved the desert scenery, the serenity and openness.
It's nice to see a outback town with people still there working it hey! You come across so many little towns or farms full of caravans trucks just hard rubbish basically homes sheds all abandoned etc people seem to be able to generate more income with the internet and the outback these days perhaps that's why more are making it work. That hot spring moonlight moment 🏞is one of those moments you'd sorta remember forever that was awesome. Very picturesque! When in Rome lol 🙃 Thanks for sharing 💚
Thanks for commenting! I would imagine there are trace amounts of arsenic. But the town spring apparently has some of the most healing waters in the world.
This video is definitely worth the subscribe, for certain. Compared to the miserable. Hypocritical jackholes. Of Eastern Washington. Tecopa is a vacationer's paradise. Where the people are way more chill. I may not be a fan of California( The politics there are straight up demonic, and...tyrannical ). Yet...Having grown up in the desert climate of Sovereign Utah. I am looking for some land outside of the city. The friendly attitude there sure is a welcomed sight for sore eyes. Both you, and...Wonderhussy. Should consider doing a live podcast together from Tecopa. That would be a raucous show, for sure. Thank you for giving me an ACCURATE View of the area, and... Making me reconsider my attitude about California. By the way. Have you considered checking out the transformed rural desert landscape of Enterprise/ Beryl/ Modena, Sovereign Utah? It'll definitely be worth the investment of your time. Given the vast amount of history present there. To close. Roger's home is AMAZING. Definitely a labour of love, and...Focus. That sure makes comparable homes in larger cities look really tame. May God totally, and...Richly. Bless you on your travels, Sir. Stay safe out there.
God good old Tecopa use to do time on winter there on late 60 to early 80,s Dr Reynolds and Susie Q parhump was small town they even has gas stations u delights. Allie babA hs did electri Al work on tecopa at grocery store and for Marta at DVJ I live by Pyramid lake in Nevada to far for me to drive Delight's is our favorite Wesley and Randy are great people 🇺🇲🇺🇲🪖👍 Joe DAV VN
I've dealt with a lot of mice too, and live traps. I'm making a list of all the animals that eat the mice. I keep learning of new ones online, ones I hadn't thought of. It's amazing how many creatures eat the mice.
@@rockhopperadventures I've heard that too. But it seems to be only somewhat effective. Some people who've tried it report that the mice still come. I leave the hood wide open. It definitely helps.
Rodger built a incredible house for his wife Toni, but, the color is too white for me, white paint is boring, he needs to add more colors, but it’s not my home, I know. Beautiful though. Desert rats are a special breed, I lived in Victorville/Adelanto in the high Desert of Victor Valley, for 3 years whilst in the military, so I know what Desert life is, too hot for me, but I do miss it sometimes. Man do they have a nice set-up, wow, just awesome! Happy trails Rock Hopper!
Apparently Wonderhussy was absent during all her Charm School classes, she came across rude. TH-camrs should help each other out, it is best served when TH-camrs support each other (like Rockhopper did when he directed viewers to go to her Channel) Good job Rockhopper keep up the good work.
Careful about handling desert mice! Please wear disposable gloves and wash your live traps and plastic bins thoroughly. Maybe wear a mask too. You don't want hantavirus.
She shows the same amount of detail about her home on her channel, she makes it a little too easy to find IMO (but I'm a major privacy person). Also there aren't very many actual houses in town...!
Sorry, but that’s a part of the country that I never want to see again, nor wish my husband to ever visit again as well. I can’t separate the So Cal desert area from the meth epidemic.
wonderhussy has a magical way to change someone’s mood laughter is healthy
Wonderhussy the queen 👑 of the Mojave desert!
She has been banged more times than a screen door in a Texas tornado.
Oh yeah LOVE WONDERHUSSY ❤️
Saved the Best for Last... YAY WONDERHUSSY!!

We LOVE Wonderhussy! 🎉

Wonder hussy is too cool !!!!!!
Wonderhussy always puts a smile on my face!
She will sit on it too!
Wonderhussy is the best!
So happy to see you both together on this adventure
Good to know you enjoyed seeing the two of us!

I am subbing because of the relaxing way you talk.
Thanks for the sub and letting me know you enjoy my talking style.
Sarah brought me here
good to see you miss wonder hussy , stay safe
I would love to have an underground home there.

Very friendly people. Different interesting way of life.
WonderHussy just brings joy everywhere she goes! She loves Tecopa!

Love the coyote "voice over" at the start. Sorry, Dracula, coyotes are the real 'children of the night."
My back and knees always feel better in the dry desert heat, I only wish my sinus' would as well. I would like to see a collab between you and wonderhussy sometime. Nice work Rockhopper!!
She's a very busy person, but who knows, maybe someday, especially if enough people would like to see us do a video together.
@@rockhopperadventures I would like to see that collab, can you tell her to shave her hairy armpits though, it’s gross!!! Thanks.
I agree the desert seems to keep my knees & joints pain level at a minimum!
Ask Wonder Hussy why shy drives around with knee pads.
@@apocyldoomer Thanks for the thumbs up to the potential collab. You're going to have to bring up the pit thing with her yourself. Lol
My friend Jeanie Herer lives their. Say hi 🎉🎉🎉
Great episode!!
Thank you!
Wonderhussy should get a pit bull...siberian husky are big but they run when you spray water on them...rock copper! Jumping being
Mmmm...no
Dogs are too damn needy. Worse than kids.
Great video and thanks for not giving away the location of the hot spring 🙏
Thanks and yes, some things are better left unsaid.
At least you don't have to shovel snow. I should move there.
New to your channel and WONDER Hussey is awesome!💀🤤🤭😰

Will do!

Rodger was interesting. I think that he may have been born in the Queen of Angels hospital in LA. I was born there in the same year.
This is correct and then taken back to Compton (straight out of) until we moved across the riverbed into Hollydale when I was 4

Well done sir !!
Thank you!

She never shaves her pits lol 😂😂😂😂
isn't it awesome , great to see someone so free to be what they want to be
Mouse lives matter ❤️😂❤️ fascinating video rockhopper. Since the desert water has arsenic, do the Hot Springs also have lots of arsenic?

How did you get a young Clint Eastwood to narrate this video about Wonderhussy…
Tecopa? Did not know they had a tecopa. Ok ive seen the sign when i lived in vegas. I live in Tacoma wa. now. Come visit in the summer.

I'm making a list of all the animals that eat the mice. I keep learning of new ones online, ones I hadn't thought of. It's amazing how many creatures eat the mice.
I've heard that peppermint oil in water sprayed in the engine compartment can repel mice.

Outside on 2nd floor, I wonder if it's cooler.
North side is always cooler...
Had a great steak there a few years ago. Don't remember the name of the place. I think it was called Steak and Beer.

Thanks for the advice. I spray down the bin with hydrogen peroxide afterwards and wipe clean, and wash my hands.
Did you run into the love of my life, Sarah Jane? Love you hon
