Excellent video Gary. I never fail to learn something new from your videos. My Razzamatazz and Southern Home grapes are doing great in the soil formula you recommended. Glad you're back teaching the craft.

Great video. Thanks so much! We’re going to add grapes to our little suburban “homestead”. See you soon.

The best part of these videos is what Gary is not doing. Gary does not turn these videos into an infomercial. He doesn't try to sell you things. You have to rent a truck and drive thousands of miles across the country to buy stuff at his store. No Amazon affiliate link. No sponsored shilling from Vermisterra. None of that, "buy my book" jazz.

Great videos however I noticed that the sound has been really low the last two videos . Consider having Gary use a mic or move the recording device closer..

Great video! We just discovered your videos, and really enjoy them. Particularly my wife, who claims she doesn't like gardening, but the last several days keeps asking me to put on one of your videos!
We are just up the road from you, and look forward to visiting.
I agree with the comment about the audio. Need to crank it up to hear (and still not good enough), and then we get blasted out of our seats during commercials.

And here I thought grapes didn't do well in containers. Thanks Gary!

I was really looking forward to the grape talk but my audio does not work well. Please do another grape video sometime. I have learned so much from talks.

Questions... in my culture, we eat tender grape leaves in a dish called Dolma. We come from North western Iran. But my mother said most grape leaves are not tender enough for this dish. Do you know which species tend to have tender leaves? Sultana is familiar to us but we had 2 other species with small globes that were dark yellow, almost orange grapes covered in sticky sap that were used to make a type of heavy, thick, jam for winter consumption. It was believed this had a warming effect and packed anti oxidants. I can't find this type of grape variety here in California. Are you familiar with anything like this?

Great videos. Wish the volume was a little louder. The video with the alvacado trees volume was perfect. What's the best soil for new grapes? Sand, clay or 50/50?

Hi Tracy. Thanks for watching. We have had a better microphone starting sometime in May 2022. So from now on the volume should be fine. In Napa Valley grapes are grown both on the clay hills and the sandy river beds. Grapes grown in sand ripen faster. Otherwise, both are good.

Thanks for the video. It was very informative. I have a quick question. In the seeded grapes, are the seeds fertile; if planted, will they grow a grape plant?
