Thank you guys for making this video! I've been on my health journey the last few years. Longevity really does come slow and steady. Instead of summer body ready, it should be summer mind ready. As someone that is a binge eater that can self-punish with food, it is way more productive to have a focus of simply making healthy choices and being more active to feel the best I can for each season. As far as weight loss, I tell myself to only lose the amount I can in a healthy way during that time period. It's also about people being more realistic with themselves on what their bodies can and can't do in a healthy way. All bodies are beautiful and worthy, and people deserve to treat themselves with kindness and grace.

Great episode, and a topic we all can relate to, so thanks for covering it! I love the quote “Your body is an instrument, not an ornament”! More people should repeat that on the daily. 👍 And thanks for the plug to register to vote - it does matter, especially here in the U.S. Keep up the great work! ❤

Oh my goodness. I just got chills and choked up when you read Don's review. Thank you Don for your willingness and courage to stand up to the police at Stonewall! Very important and impactful.

Another fantastic podcast. Don’s letter about being at Stonewall during that pivotal moment was inspiring and heartwarming. Thank you, Don. In a show about body positivity, it was ironic that the ad that appeared on my TH-cam feed immediately following your discussion was some shirtless 40+ gentleman with a hirsute and chiseled body hocking a brand of protein powder that when consumed would get you looking like him. I had to laugh because you two had just spoken about these shirtless influencers/brand ambassadors/salesmen.
I’ve already decided that I’m going to improve my health and worry far less what complete strangers will think of my body. I am overweight, have bigs scars from accidents and surgeries, which cover my back and legs, and I have limited ambulatory mobility. However, I’m making it a goal throughout this year and next to become healthier physically, mentally and emotionally. I’m going to work on being confident shirtless at the beach, and to go to a gay nude campground or resort next year. I’m learning not to let the real and imagined opinions of total strangers dim my shine.
Thank you again for a great podcast.

Just love you guys. So intelligent, eloquent, and to the point. It also doesn't hurt that you're both so easy on the eyes! Congrats on the nose surgery, Keegan. Is it a bit stalkerish that I was worried for you while you were away?

I've been working out for just over a year. While I've seen some change, I'm fully aware I'm a year plus out from really seeing big results.
I'm also in a much healthier place mentally.
That said, while I'm good with myself and my body.
It's difficult to remove the years of toxic thinking. At least in the context of what others think.
So while I've come to terms with my appearance. I realize I still have a long way to go around confidence.

Even when I was skinny, I wasn't skinny enough. There is definitely an unrealistic expectation that you need to look like a porn star even if you have a day job.

So right as you get older your body changes and it becomes harder to lose weight. I am 65 for most of my 30’s to 50 I was the same weight give or take, thought it was easy 🤔. Now harder work but I would also say being in a loving happy relationship it’s more about overall health for a long happy life, especially since my husband is 15 years younger. Also don’t own scales😎

Guy shows a pic of him at his biggest weight, and he doesn't even look that bad....how freaking crazy is that? Here I am at 5'7" and 200lbs with a big beer belly going "What a skinny b$^%%!" I mean, good on him for getting into shape, but he was nowhere near where I'm sitting currently, and I've lost 50 lbs over the last 4 years! Crazy...

Great episode again. I think the thing with America is that most of the population isn't as informed/influenced by fashion (or culture, really) from London and Paris etc, and is therefore less progressive (is that the right word). This creates a delay in a lot of mindsets like, men shouldn't wear, do,, etc cuz it's only women or effeminate men who do those things. It's sad coz like you've said in purveyor episodes, the classy folks who do dress or act certain ways are not less of a man, they are more fully themselves and comfortable expressing themselves and it's not effeminate, it's just fashion. Those films are closed minded and if they lived over seas for a while they would realize they are the one who looks odd and careless and unattractive. Wear it skinny jeans if you like, Joel. They suit you just fine and didn't say anything about you except that you care about your clothes fitting you well. Your t shirts are NOT too tight. I don't get that at all.

How much of a Summer Ready body is related to age? Is it code for “I’m under 30” or “check me out at 40”? And is it sexually related? I just feel every year it’s to say something to others, but what exactly. Curious. Ready for that Circuit White Party is definitely sexually related because that party is all about sex. I went to a few and was never impressed because I only went because my friends went.

You know you're fricked when you're aiming for the "normal body"... Also, wanting to loose weight can be to increase confidence, just saying. (And yes, confidence should never be the ultimate goal, as in "I'll love myself when...")
