Chad- keep doing this sort of thing. From my personal experience, I had so many cool interactions with top level pros in college and they all changed me for the better. My favorite was Chris Vadala (RIP) telling old stories from Mangione’s band. Tell your stories so they don’t get forgotten.
Saddened to learn that Professor Chris Vadala has transitioned. He was among the best who played Organic Jazz , authentically. His association on tenor and soprano saxophones with Chuck Mangione tells the story, to which his students can attest.
oh man, I used to play with Chris relatively frequently in my college days. I went to McDaniel university and studied under Eric Byrd. Had quite a few lessons and performances with him and Chris Vadala back then. Miss him and Bo Eckard tremendously. Huge losses for the music scene in the Maryland area.
Awesome "burnin" sax solo. Love that tune even though the late and great Mike B. had said he is not crazy about it. Love the changes kind of reminds me of "Sunny" Also love the sax section's faces when you are soloing! :) Priceless`
The groove is laid back more on the original. Felt the band was rushing a bit to try to place those hits into the sped up groove. Holy crap Chad! You hit that shit just right! I want the transcription.

6:11 is careless whisper lol.
Fuckin love that part
Bro I cannot get over how good the phrase was at 6:20 to 6:26!! I've probably listened to it 20 times already.😅 Truly the work of a master!👍
Dude same it's so good!
Yess, that one great, but IMO the following one, from 6:26 to 6:33 was even better. I’ll probably transcribe it lol
For me it's the phrase before it. That whole section cooked.
as a michael brecker fan... I LOVED THISSSSS!!!!!! (R.I.P Michael Brecker)

That solo was awesome i can't even put into words as to why
Michael would be proud
Chad: The look the alto player gives you at the end says it all. You're a monster, dude!
Great job Chad. Michael would love it.
That rhythm section is so grooving 🎉
Tema Michael breker top melhor saxofonista foi Michael lenda

You got my attention on this one, Chad. Bravo.
I think Michael would be very happy with that killing rendition ....
Immense! Thank you for the inspiration! ❤
❤ ein sehr schönes Solo. Ich muss sehr oft an Michael denken.

Awesome Job Chad 😀
The Maestro...Too many notes,but...all of them bingo,I mean is golden... Bravo!
My favorite tenor sound live is achieved with a Shure 58 in the bell. Especially for the bag.
Dang Chad, nice to hear you on Straphangin' Hope all is going well for you!
Love this tune!
It leaves me breathless. Extraterrestric! 👍👍👍
Wow!
Excellent!!!
Whose arrangements is this? It's a nice feature, on you did wonderful as usual! Sounds like real music!
Vince Mendoza’s it sounds like
Chad, Mike would've been proud of you!

Wish you'd done the cool intro and outro.
Holy crap, just discovered this!
Chad, Monstro!
Yep
Insanely
Just... wow...

6:02 i droped my ice cream on the floor...
M Brecker always smokin! Left us way too soon.
4:35 something went wrong here, on the keyboard...
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🔥🔥🔥
Michael brecker era Zica memooo
If I can offer a little constructive criticism for the TUJE, all the "1 and 3" stuff in the rhythm section was a hindrance.
I understand what you’re saying but personally I think it works on this arrangement.
Sounded great despite the sound issues in the video
Please come to Ohio State, we pay the big bucks for musicians like you, you should contact them. Reply if you're interested
i should clarify: i can personally attest that we would love to have you!!!
Chad is kool!,but i would love to Gerald Albright performing this tune on tenor, off course that would never happen!
Might be might phones speakers but I the feel is like the whole band is claping on 1 and 3. I'll double check it on better speakers later.
Spoiler alert 🚨 Chad did indeed shed on his solo
That's really bad time.
Sounds were not well mixed...
Its likely not the sound routed through the hall mixer and just a camera mic, which is fine
