Streetcars (Trams) in Salt Lake City, Utah, 2018

The line is 2 miles long carrying just over 1000 people a day. Its off the light rail line.
The S Line, or S-Line (formerly known as Sugar House Streetcar), is a public transit streetcar line in northeastern Salt Lake County, Utah, in the United States, that connects the business district of the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City with the neighboring city of South Salt Lake, as well as the Utah Transit Authority's (UTA) TRAX light rail system. I agree! Here in Phoenix so many people complain about it but at the same time they ride it...street cars are the way too go

Nice video. I just read that they are starting construction to double track the whole line. I wonder if they will ever extend the line. These “streetcar” vehicles look like they are as big as light rail. I wonder why this isn’t just another TRAX line. (I just looked at some TRAX maps and the S Streetcar Line isn’t even on it! Absurd!)

These streetcars are the same Siemens S70's used on the regular Trax lines.

Jarrett Stewart is this an independent company who built the line and is operating it? It seems so strange to me. I think it even uses a different fare system, but I’m not sure. It’s been years since I rode it.

UTA runs both Trax and the S Line. From Wiki it is UTA route 720 and was a joint project between Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake, and UTA. On the UTA website their rail maps has the line included: bit.ly/294lUNI Also the fare page shows $2.50 one way on bus, Trax, and the streetcar.

I don't know about single fare but a daily pass covers the Light Rail, Streetcar and Bus :)

They keep saying they're planning an eastward extension but nothing's come off the ground yet. All talk and no action. Supposedly they're planning two Blue Line TRAX extensions, and I think a Green Line TRAX extension, too.

They have a lot of LRT in the “Mormon Mecca” some of the cleanest and best in the US. Phoenix’s is dirty and definitely LA is dirty compared to UTA.

I think that is the biggest issue with the newer tram lines in US either they are were short or just loop around business districts.

Ok Salt Lake City gets a lot of snow.Do these run than or are they put in hold due to snow amount or are the tracks heated and they run in snowy weather?

We don't get that much snow. I've never seen any of the trains shut down due to it.

I am not sure about heated rails. I have never heard of the S-Line or any of the 3 TRAX lines shutting down for snow, even on the 3+ inches days.
