To me story book canal boats is the epitome of fantasy land so the magic kingdom lacking it makes the park feel less cohesive. So yayyyy Disneyland win! Great video!
i love that its all themed for small world and you see small world at the end of it. It makes it feel like small world is a huge spectacle and gives it the respect it deserves.
I gotta say I think I agree about the cohesiveness of Disneyland’s fantasyland. I’ve never been the magic kingdom, but from watching videos of it, it feels all over the place. It feels like 8 mini lands mashed together. And they don’t flow with each other. While Disneyland’s is kinda the same, it feels more natural in its flow. I hope at some point, they change the tents into the village theme. But I don’t see them doing it. I’ve been thinking about it and I don’t think I’ve ever eaten at fantasyland. Like not even an ice cream or a churro. I’ll try eating there next time I visit. I want to try one of the chimichangas.
That's definitely how it feels. Disney World has some VERY impressive areas, but they don't flow at all. But you're right, haha, there's pretty much nothing worth eating in Disneyland's Fantasyland.
Same about eating at Fantasyland at Disneyland. I’m 26 and already been to Disneyland so many times growing up. Grab a turkey leg at Edelweis on my most recent trip and had the realization this is the first time ever that I actually ate food in fantasyland lol.
Keep making videos! I know there’s many voices out there doing the same thing, but so many have enjoyed yours. I’m not near CA anymore although I grew up there, it’s fun to reminisce. From one 1997er to another 👊
I definitely agree with you that the Little Mermaid theming in the Magic Kingdom is very immersive and can fit well with the Pirates theming. Especially with the Spanish fortress exterior for Pirates in the Magic Kingdom with the shipwreck and all that good stuff.
I missed u Bram I’ve been a subscriber since the beginning love ur videos so I’m glad ur back the Disney community felt a little lonely without Disneylander!!! Also agreed I prefer Disneyland’s Fantasyland over the Magic Kingdom’s but both r still really good in their own rights! I just came back from a WDW Trip and loved it but what I felt to me was the biggest let down for Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom was the feeling of the land being stuck between 4 clash of ideas and the imagineers couldn’t figure out which one was the best but I was still relieved to see Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland still had all of the same rides as in Disneyland but yeah I’m glad ur back man I missed u and Aurora so thank u for the video loved every second hope to see y’all real soon!!!
Thank you for saying so! It's always good to be back! And I'm glad you agree, I was afraid people might not agree on this one, haha, but yes! Very good points!
I’m going to Disney Land on Christmas I’m excited!! We are staying at the Disney Land hotel!! Thank you so much for your great content!! You really help me out!!
I agree with this Disneyland's win 100% :) Disney World is my home park and it holds more nostalgia for me. However, when I finally visited Disneyland last year I was blown away and transported into fantasyland in a way that I never felt before. My final verdict was Disneyland > Magic Kingom and Disney World > Disneyland California. The cleanliness and staff in Disneyland is also superior which allows park goers to be more immersed. There is also more care put into the rides in disneyland and everything feels new even though its older than our park. Disney World allows many rides to remain longer periods of time without refurbishments and it shows. In Magic Kingdom, Small World feels like an old dingy ride where in Disneyland it feels like a spectacle worthy of its glory. Disneyland just feels like it cares a lot more about it's identity.
also that view while standing in the allice cue of the tea cups and the Matterhorn really hit me with a feeling of being a kid and imagining such things to exist. I let out a nostalgic tear without having ever been there before. I only get that feeling while walking down Main Street in magic kingdom but Disneyland knows how to keep you there the whole time.
I'll add my land winners for the 2 parks here for fun cuz why not! Mainstreet: Magic Kingdom Adventureland: Disneyland Frontierland: Magic Kingdom Liberty / New Orleans Square: Disneyland Fantasyland: Disneyland Tomorrowland: Magic Kingdom Overall: Disneyland
This is the content we're all here for. Fantastic stuff. Im fully on board with the slight edge to DL Fantasyland - MK Fantasyland has the size & scale & dining, but DL Fantasyland has the charm, nostalgia, magic, & better rides
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! I loveeeeee these always, we have missed you so much. I just want you to hit that big break finally and surge to new heights. Thank you for making this!
Another great video Bram! I think this comparison is the epitome of the sum being greater than the parts. WDW definitely has some great individual theming in some areas of FL (Dumbo, Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast in particular) but on the whole is lacking the cohesion that the DL version of FL has in spades. Ironically though the inverse is true of Tomorrowland where WDW has much better cohesiveness (thanks in large part to the Peoplemover) and DL is a mess even though it could be argued that many of the individual rides in DL (Space, Buzz, Autopia) are better. Maybe that will be a future video:). Keep up the great work!
Thank you! And I'm glad to hear so many people agree: I was afraid of getting this one wrong because so many of the areas in Fantasyland in WDW are AMAZING, but it just doesn't flow. Great point about Tomorrowland, though!
Agreed - without the people mover, carousel of progress, or that Captain EO theater not being used, Tomorrowland in DLR feels very lifeless. The rides there are great. But with no stellar food options and a lack of kinetic energy, I don’t find myself taking in the magic when I’m over there. When I’m in Tomorrowland I’m there to ride the rides and get out as quickly as possible.
Hey Bram! You always give such great detail with you videos, to the point that I am deciding to go to Disneyland, since I got a job in SD! Is there any ride I should make sure to do first because of the line time? I plan on going in November with a couple of girls.
You had me scared for a second. No comparison for the rides. Disneyland tops them all. Matterhorn easily beats 7 dwarves. I don't care how smooth 7 dwarves is. Disneyland is the best... until TRON comes along. Then I don't know.... Edit: Disneyland is the far superior park to Magic Kingdom in almost all categories. Hence why I watch this channel.
To me story book canal boats is the epitome of fantasy land so the magic kingdom lacking it makes the park feel less cohesive. So yayyyy Disneyland win! Great video!
That's a great point! I don't often ride the canal boats, but they are definitely prime Fantasyland!
I think that the parade route cutting through Disneyland's Fantasyland greatly adds to the immersion.
When parades are actually running, I think it's a great addition, but parades are few and far between nowadays...
i love that its all themed for small world and you see small world at the end of it. It makes it feel like small world is a huge spectacle and gives it the respect it deserves.
allows for a nice walk to truly enjoy and take in the massive small world facade

I absolutely love Indian food and also didn't know that place existed until watching this, so I'm stoked to give it a try
Me too! Never even knew it was back there!
@@Disneylander to be fair, I think the only time I even go to that area is like, if I'm looking for a restroom at night now that I think of it
@@MCastleberry1980 yup. Without shows nowadays, a restroom is pretty much all that's back there, haha. Plus the Toontown train station, I suppose.

Disneyland is more immersive. Bavarian town with the Matterhorn in the background? Disneyland wins in a landslide.
Disney lander please come back we miss you
hope you come back someday!
I wonder if I would have to even click on the liberty square New Orleans square versus. I mean one is just a little better than the other
LOL, still one I plan to do someday
Another Disneylander hit😤🔥🔥
Good points. Is mickey’s toon town in Fantasy land in Disneyland
Idk if you have have noticed me in other videos comments but I really really like the stuff man keep it up ❤👍

Thank you so much!
Do New Orleans square vs liberty square
Please come back! Just found your channel you give me Offhand Disney vibes ❤
next do liberty square vrs new oreleans square
I feel like Alice is out of place like tucked away
Do Tomorrowland or Frontierland
I love DisneyLand!!
Bram the rat log is gone on Indiana Jones!
Please do a Peter Pan versus!
I like Magic Kingdoms better just because of the 7 dwarfs mine train
Oddly enough, Fantasyland at Disneyland is my favorite land. It just feels "Disney" to me.
Do incredercoaster vs rock n roller
Disneyland is better due to the fact we (Californian here) have it’s a small world holiday and Disney world doesn’t get it.
Great point! I totally forgot to mention that!
