I got to meet her and I was sobbing because it was a dream come true and she was honestly the nicest person I’ve ever met. She was so sweet and friendly, even at the end of a long day of meeting fans she was hugging me and making me smile. One of the best days of my life
I was lucky enough to see her reprise her role as Belle this summer and she wasn’t nothing short of extraordinary in every aspect. On top of being and exceptional actress, vocalist, and human being, this woman has a high kick that will blow minds!
Did she sing "A change in me" too during those performances of the show? She never sang this song live and I would be so curious to listen a different version from the pop one she recorded in her album "So far"
Honest to god. She is a queen, she still sounds as amazing as she did in the original soundtrack. I wanna go to a Broadway princess party so bad 😭😭😭 Please come to Toronto 👏🏼❤️❤️❤️
I have been madly in love with Susan Egan since I was ten years old and you know what? Nearly two decades later, nothing at all has changed. ::hearteyes emoji::
I remember going to see the Broadway version with this cast of Beauty and the beast with Susan Eagan in Toronto Ontario in 6th grade year 1996 and we had a meet and greet with Susan, she was a lovely lady. That was my first musical and will always remember being frightened by the beast when he scared the crap out of bell when she opened the case with the rose, Well boy did I jump from my seat and he scared me as well. This has always been my favorite musical and Disney movie along with the lion king.
I had a Disney Princess tape when I was still a kid and it included 'Home' as one of the songs. I remember being confused at first whenever it played because I haven't heard the song from the movie and I didn't know about the musical then. But eventually it became one of my most favorite songs from that tape. It's amazing to finally see Susan Egan sing it live after listening to her voice again & again as a kid. She's absolutely divine! 😍
I didn’t know how much her voice in this part meant to me until I found myself crying through this performance. Thank you the magic you gave this character through your portrayal.
Today is June 25, 2020. 1am. Exactly 2 years later. My birthday is in two days and belle has been my favorite princess since I first heard her (I was too young then, don’t even remember my age, but I grew answering “Belle” spot on whenever someone would ask me who is my favorite Disney princess). And I don’t want to ever forget what/how I felt while watching Susan sing in this video! Just sooo special
They left out Home from the live action remake because Watson could never handle singing it, with or without autotune. Susan is pure talent and charisma who deserves more recognition for her amazing work.
Actually, they never use broadway original solos in the remakes because they want new solos written in an attempt to win Best Original Song. If they used home, they couldn't do that. They even replaced the two beast solos with evermore.
At least Home was in the background when the servants showed Belle her room. I literally smacked myself in the mouth at the movie theater when I instantly recognized the music and started singing “Is this home..” *smack* It almost happened again when I took my sister a couple days later, I expected it and covered my mouth with my hand....it didn’t stop my sister though.... needless to say, I love Susan and her voice. For me, she’s as iconic as Belle as Paige O’Hara is.
I’m sorry, as much as I also would have loved that. I don’t think Emma Watson could have vocally handled singing it. It is such a complex song to sing, and Susan Egan makes it sound easy. (I totally have learned this song in voice lessons) and Emma Watson unfortunately had to be auto tuned for most of the movie because she was terrified of singing these songs
i think it’s supposed to be foreshadowing: she meets Prince Charming but doesn’t discover that it’s him like how Belle meets Beast but doesn’t discover he’s the prince until later. And, it’s the same music/tune as in Something There when Belle is realizing she likes him 😃
True enough but isn't time to stop ragging on Emma? The standards for live performers and movie actors are decidedly different. There is a reason why only a small number of actors have been Oscar nominated for roles in musicals and of course only a handful of those have gone on to actually win. As far as I can remember only 1961, 1964 and 1972 saw multiple winners for musicals with 64 being the lone time they were from two different films. I imagine you have heard of Ms. Marni Nixon? The big difference today is the advent of auto tune. The whole point of Singin' In The Rain is that Hollywood has long cast based on appearance knowing that they could use someone else's voice. BTW there is some evidence that there were a few notes outside Debbie's range. They had to use another singer's voice. The eternal irony is the person they chose was Jean Hagen aka Lina Lamont the subject of all the panic in the first place. Does it bother you that Lea Solanga and Brad Kane provided the singing voices of Jasmine and Aladdin, but that others did the narrative? After all Lea was already a Tony winner, surely she could have been trusted to provide her speaking voice also. IMHO its a moot point.
"honey I'M working". Lol. I might be dead from the slayage
“I received a Tony award *nomination*”😂😂
0:30 Her inner Meg came out 😂😍🤩✌️
She is obviously and literally the real life Meg...
@ChanChan r/whoosh
she can even say she was more like meg than belle bc meg is based off her sarcasm.
Sabrina Twyla And the rest of the time she was Rose/Pink Diamond
SHE WORE A YELLOW DRESS!
20 years and she sounds EXACTLY the same. I adore Susan so muuuuuuuuuch!!!!
If anything she sounds better - richer but just as crystal clear :)
She and Lea Salonga are real life disney princesses to me
ジョディベンソン、ジュディクーン、マンディムーア、イディナ・メンゼルも入れて欲しいです。
The only thing missing from your concerts is LEA SALONGA!!! Bring Mulan/ Princess Jasmine to your stage. Pleaseeeee.
And Paige O Hara and Judy Kuhn ❤️
I got to meet her and I was sobbing because it was a dream come true and she was honestly the nicest person I’ve ever met. She was so sweet and friendly, even at the end of a long day of meeting fans she was hugging me and making me smile. One of the best days of my life

i love how as soon as she starts singing you could hear a pin drop... i know everyone in the room must be mesmerized by her.
that harmony at the end combined with my overflowing love of susan egan are what caused these tears and i'm not even sorry
thespianreads THE FATTEST MOOD
Good, because I’m joining this club too. I’m also in tears
She has such a unique voice. Loved her as Belle in Beauty and the Beast broadway production
Also that effortless movement through her registers in that "oh isn't this amazing" part.
Gosh
Honest to god. She is a queen, she still sounds as amazing as she did in the original soundtrack. I wanna go to a Broadway princess party so bad 😭😭😭 Please come to Toronto 👏🏼❤️❤️❤️
Queen in what country?
We need a revival of Beauty and the Beast with Laura Osnes as Belle and Susan Egan as Mrs. Potts
G Nemec YESSS
And Lin Manuel Miranda as Lumiere
Not anymore,we don’t. Little miss antivax (osnes) can keep to herself til she develops some common sense
That light, crystalline soprano harmony in Beauty and the Beast is LOVE.
Did not realize she was only 24 when she did Belle.. That's amazing!
she's got the voice of an angel, i just wanna cry because it's so perfect!
Forever my favorite Belle 🌹
Same
Oh God, I love her to pieces. Her voice is perfection. A word also about Ben, he deserves three times what they pay him!

I saw her at Pantages in L.A. Best Belle ever.
I always thought I hated Susan because Spotify keeps trying to shove her down my throat... But no, they were right to suggest her.. So so good.
The harmonies were beautiful, started crying
That end tho. In tears 😭😭😭
Belle, Meg and Rose 🌹 Susan is one of my all time favourite voice actresses (also generally just fave performer but, my gOD, that voice!!!❤️❤️)
"Home" got me through a lot of abuse as a child. Susan Egan's performance touched so many, myself included.
Susan it's been yeaRS AND YOU'RE STILL AMAZING 😱😭😍
This made me tear up. Thank you, Benjamin, for all the love and care you put into that show.
Liked this before I even finished this video 😘
Ashley N oh my god we have the same name 😱😱 And apparently have similar tastes. A+
home never fails to make me cry and it doesn’t matter how much of it I hear so i’m currently sobbing

DEFINITELY still got it.

I'm applying for OCSA (Susan's high school), and if I get in, I'm going in the footsteps of a legend.
Randomly Ramune how’d it go
now i think she works at Northwood High School tho
Beauty and the Beast? Susan Egan? HECK YEAH!
I just love her voice and charisma. I would love the chance to meet her
Since I learned about this my biggest dream is to some day go and watch a Broadway Princess Party for myself
She is timeless 💗

Audience pigeon-squawking Bonjour Bonjour Bonjour: 1:17
Damn she's a singing beast
Her voice is so pure.
Can we please have Susan play Mrs Potts in the revival of BAAT? I'd be a very happy person.
Good idea! But she sure still seems young...she can still do an amazing Belle as evidenced in this video!
@@fionabalfe24 she’s actually in her 50s

Great, getting goosebumps again..
She sounds like the same!!😲😍
That was so beautiful!
they should've left "Home." in the 2017 re-make.

It's like Belle was reading the Cinderella book. 😅
i think it’s supposed to be foreshadowing: she meets Prince Charming but doesn’t discover that it’s him like how Belle meets Beast but doesn’t discover he’s the prince until later. And, it’s the same music/tune as in Something There when Belle is realizing she likes him 😃
Susan Egan sings WAY better than Emma Watson lol.
RedRoseSeptember22 well yeah she’s a broadway star duh
I’m dying, that’s hysterical!

'Cause Susa Egan is a Broadway singer??? Obviously stop comparing the two of them on who's who.
Don't bash her
😭💜
the dislikes are from gaston and the eggs he ate the day belle rejected him
💖🌹
Susan Egan is my bffs drama teacher
I’m so jealous
I like beBeauty and the beast
Che carina. La ricordo per Hercules. So pretty, remember 4 hercules.
