Candy Clark was excellent as Debbie Dunham in both American Graffiti movies! She still looks unbelievably gorgeous after all these years! She is a very gifted actress and I love her very much!

"Well, you've got a Vespa, and that's almost a motorcycle, and I love motorcycles!"
She's very well spoken - far better than I ever thought she'd be, based on her character in this film. I always enjoy hearing about what happened behind the scenes in shooting a famous movie.
I'm amazed that the dress she wore was an actual old one from a thrift store and wasn't made for her. I mean, even if the budget was tight, this was a Hollywood movie!

If you want to go to film school and learn acting and how to shoot you only need to watch this film. Its a clinic on movie making. One of the classics.

Not just pretty. She looks better than ever. And, yes, seems like a real sweet gal. One highlight among many in American Graffiti.

We seen Candy Clark in Frankenmuth MI at a classic car show on Sept. 6th 2008 and she looks so good still. What a very nice gal in person.

Yes, I love her too. She revealed a lot of cool behind the scenes stuff. She really was the highlight of the event, in my opinion.

Geesh, you'd think there would have been more people in the audience for something like this.

It's nice that she was given the opportunity to speak at length. Glad they didn't insist on keeping the presentation "brisk," lest someone "get bored." Kind of like the string of anecdotes you'd get if you were hanging out with her on a lazy afternoon.

She is so "Debbie" in real life.George Lucas knew what he was doing when he cast her in that role!!She autographed the registration card to my Studebaker and she said, " but this is EXPIRED"! Guess you had to be there.....:>)

It's pretty flattering when someone who meets people all day can remember who you are after not seeing them for a long period of time. It also says a lot about her character. Beside part 2 to this video I also have an interview that I posted with her from 2011 at the Car Expo in Sacramento that you might like. Its better quality. And, if you're a big "Graffiti" fan you'll really like my KIP PULLMAN'S AMERICAN GRAFFITI BLOG. If you do a quick Google search you can find it. Cheers!

You know, when I was a kid I would look at slightly overweight 40+ yr. old women and be turned off. But as you get older you see older women as they were when they were young. I ran into an old high school flame and she now topped 300 lbs but when I looked into her eyes, I saw her as the babe she used to be and will be again when we all get to the other side.

Re: dressing in character for auditions: Jared Harris auditioned for the part of Andy Warhol (in "I Shot Andy Warhol") not only in costume, but in character, and he never broke character. Went around snapping pictures and drawling inane remarks from the time he came in til he left. Needlessly to say, it worked.

@PeterCRissKISSgod: Yes, as a matter of fact. And, her favorite musician is the first drummer for KISS!!!

I think you phrased it well. Something about those big eyes that look into the speakers'. And that mouth, slightly agape. Very soft and sensual. I love Candy's first screen performance in FAT CITY. She wound up in a relationship with the costar, Bridges.
