VW / Audi ~ CHANGE CAR BATTERY & Coding with Louis Theroux

Behold, when winter season approaches this normally means one thing. You got it, and weak car batteries will struggle to start, so why not change it. In this moderatley detailed tutorial you will learn how change a car battery and programme the car to acknowledge the characterstics of the new battery.
This procedure is required to change the battery in a 2013 Volkswagen Golf Mk7 but applies to many other VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group for those less informed) vehicles.
In this video I have used a BOSCH battery model S5 A08 supplied by Tanya batteries, which is a direct replacement for the original Varta 7P0 915105 68Ah unit. This unit isn't cheap but comes with a 5 year warranty and enough power to start a combine harvester.
00:00 - And so it begins.
00:10 - Introduce some light for the job.
00:17 - Remove negative terminal connection first.
00:22 - Remove positive terminal next.
00:27 - Remove battery covering.
00:31 - Remove battery securing nut and bracket.
00:41 - Remove complete battery by sliding to front of car.
00:46 - Put in the new battery.
00:51 - Re-install battery securing nut and bracket.
00:59 - Lube up both terminals with petroleum jelly.
01:10 - Reinstall battery covering.
01:14 - Reinstall positive battery terminal and torque to 5Nm.
01:20 - Reinstall negative battery terminal and torque to 5Nm.
01:26 - Reinstall both battery terminal caps.
01:32 - Remove plastic plug from corner of postive terminal cap and plug up the front vent hole of the battery (there is another vent hole on the opposite side that must not be plugged). Push it all the way in.
01:46 - Use VCDS to adjust the adaption settings for the new battery; specifically - e.g. Rating (70Ah), Serial# (added date) and Manufacturer (Unknown)
