Much better and more meaningful stories could be told if they weren't afraid to offend people.
way of the samurai is one of my all time favorite game series. The design of those games is so unique and there's pretty much nothing else like them. They let you RP as a samurai however you want and have SO MUCH REPLAY VALUE. I want the series to return so badly
@@d_ruggs yeah I've been playing 1 and 2. Got a bit frustrated with having to restart every time I died. I understand it's a short game but I must admit, it is dated in that way. Having to rewatch and redo certain things to get an ending can be annoying. Even tho there is a choice in difficulty. That being said, I really enjoy the gameplay of both games, despite those issues. I'd gladly play games with a similar progression and combat.
Yeah looking at 3 and 4, those would've been a better starting point for sure. I'll definitely try them out when I can. Tho that won't be for a while lol
@@therandomdickhead5744 yea its been a looong time since i played 2, but I'm pretty positive in 3 and 4 you can save, so if you die you can reload a save and continue. can also reload a save and try different decisions to see what happens at a certain event. but they are all still the 'create a samurai, arrive at village, go through small story with 128 endings or something like that, repeat' but its a great style, especially for when you dont have much time, because a playthrough is finished in like 1 to 6 hours (maybe longer on some playthroughs), and then all the sword building and customizing with blades, handles, guards, fighting styles, unlocking outfits, ugh... might have to replay one soon. I know that it was 3 that finally hooked me, i played 2 as a kid and liked it but didnt get anywhere because I was a stupid kid and it was confusing. But I came back to the series years later and tried 3 and pretty much 100% it, and loved it. I got fairly deep into 4 too but i will say it does more things that irritate me so I've never done more than a few endings on it, but it has more features and endings and story then 3 so I still want to like it. wow. I'm really talking a lot about these old ass games.
Way of the Samurai is one of my favorite games on PS2. The branching storyline based on your actions was mind blowing to me at the time, it still is pretty impressive for the time this game came out. The fact that you could attack/kill characters early on in the game and how that shifted alliances was so cool... combat was fun too once you got the hang of it.
they were like telltale games long before telltale, but in WOTS there was actually different endings you could get, and real branching narratives. We need a WOTS 5!

When you have the biggest console library of almost 3000 games, you most likely going to have alot of trash into that pile of games. Most of the games i have played on the ps2 have been great or worst case decent thankfully.

Another gems I am after are: Crimson Tears, Obscure, Zombie Zone, Ar Tonelico, Nanobreaker, Echo Night Beyond and more! I realise all these are very rare and very expensive lol. But PS2 is the best

I played so many hours on that game.Think I've unlocked just about everything there is, got a crapton of rare swords, etc. I remember starting new runs just to farm the ronin samurai enemies (with the straw basket helmets) that would randomly show up on certain maps to get their drops. I also have WotS2 but didn't spend nearly as much time on that one.

Heavenly Guardian looks fun. I remember the name and reason I didn't pick it up; the box art. It never seemed appealing. A group of monsters in a ring, none looking like a main character, and not hinting at the type of game it was; passed it up because it seemed like a gamble.
Dream mix tv blew my mind when I was young seeing it in Electronic gaming monthly. Knowing Asks from Cy Girls (another ps2 hidden gem) and Licca chan can team up against Master Higgins and Snake blew my mind. The liscensing would've been unreal to bring it over. At least we got Tatsunoko vs capcom🙇♀️. I'd say Aeon Flux PS2 is a hidden gem. 👌🙆♀️

Love the first Way of the Samurai! Sadly, I disliked all the sequels. A really obscure game I love on PS2 is Tsugunai: Atonement, published by Atlus. A very original, if a little rough, RPG with a very unique premise and amazing soundtrack by Yasunori Mitsuda.

Espgaluda never got a NTSB-U or PAL release and the PS2 Fist of the North Star game only got an NTSB-U release in arcades, yet a more feature laden PS2 port never got one.

Don't undersell Grim Grimoire! It's really great~ For others wondering what the gameplay is like: Its basically StarCraft but if it was made by a japanese studio that loves alcoholic drinks and Harry Potter. I'd say the only real downside would be that the game isn't playable with the ps2 mouse and keyboard, and it does get really rough difficulty wise if you aren't careful or new to the resource gathering style of RTSs. I'd recommend it as the gameplay is solid, yet the whole premise of the game is really out of left field and it serves up a nice dose of challenge.
To be honest I don't recall which one he review it. The one I own is a Wii2hdmi from the same brand, and it works perfect for me, in this case to record videos via a hdmi/usb card (will get the ps22hdmi for the same reason). The good thing about these adaptors whatever2hdmi is that they are cheap, I paid less tan 10 bucks. I've seen some cables and devices on Metal Jesus videos, but they are expensive, and from my point of view they just improve the quality of the image very little (not worth it).

Way of the Samurai was always a great series. It was one of the earliest sandbox story games that I can remember and I've loved every sequel. It also has a very quirky sense of humor about it. Just don't be mistaken about the kind of game it is, it follows more of a visual novel game design. That means you can complete it in less than an hour depending on the path you take, but it's _meant_ to be played over and over if you want to see everything.
Raw Danger, Way of Samurai Really my childhood friend,,, who make me love game until now, ive been playing raw danger on 2020 and still very admire the game a lot, i play it on 2 version, first time i was playing is a us version, where main character have a blond hair, but i suprised when playing original version, "Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 2" cuz the original version they have japanese name and have a black hair, they so neat to make the version, and when i think about it i feel like i forget some of the story, maybe i should play the game again... and ive been playing Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 4 (Disaster Report 4) but hmmm still cant beat this one xD, for way samurai i play all the series, this both game is truly a gem

Don't undersell Grim Grimoire! It's really great~ For others wondering what the gameplay is like: Its basically StarCraft but if it was made by a japanese studio that loves alcoholic drinks and Harry Potter. I'd say the only real downside would be that the game isn't playable with the ps2 mouse and keyboard, and it does get really rough difficulty wise if you aren't careful or new to the resource gathering style of RTSs. I'd recommend it as the gameplay is solid, yet the whole premise of the game is really out of left field and it serves up a nice dose of challenge.

To be honest I don't recall which one he review it. The one I own is a Wii2hdmi from the same brand, and it works perfect for me, in this case to record videos via a hdmi/usb card (will get the ps22hdmi for the same reason). The good thing about these adaptors whatever2hdmi is that they are cheap, I paid less tan 10 bucks. I've seen some cables and devices on Metal Jesus videos, but they are expensive, and from my point of view they just improve the quality of the image very little (not worth it).
I’ll second that, I use wii2hdmi as well and the overall quality is great. No experience with the PS2 version though.

Way of the Samurai was always a great series. It was one of the earliest sandbox story games that I can remember and I've loved every sequel. It also has a very quirky sense of humor about it.
Just don't be mistaken about the kind of game it is, it follows more of a visual novel game design. That means you can complete it in less than an hour depending on the path you take, but it's _meant_ to be played over and over if you want to see everything.
Stella Deus is the best. I don't understand why it's not popular.

Raw Danger, Way of Samurai Really my childhood friend,,, who make me love game until now, ive been playing raw danger on 2020 and still very admire the game a lot, i play it on 2 version, first time i was playing is a us version, where main character have a blond hair, but i suprised when playing original version, "Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 2" cuz the original version they have japanese name and have a black hair, they so neat to make the version, and when i think about it i feel like i forget some of the story, maybe i should play the game again... and ive been playing Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 4 (Disaster Report 4) but hmmm still cant beat this one xD, for way samurai i play all the series, this both game is truly a gem
