I've got the black version of this lens and I must say, the secondary ring to adjust the aperture, is a little bit wobbly. Is that normal? Is that fixable?

You need to apply a force if needed, there is no other way to open it

Hey there!! I have a quick question if you have a second.. I have a 40-2 and followed your video to lubricate my 40 and i just got it reassembled and the aperture is reversed.. f1.5 is f22 and f22 is f1.5.. Dont understand it cause i didnt do anything with that end of lens.. So Im gonna havta rip it back apart to fix but just wanted to know quick if you know what i did wrong?? Thanks brother!! It works correctly when using the outer ring but when using the clickless its reversed.. Thanks
This is normal, as this lens features a pre-set aperture mechanism.
Please watch my video to understand how it works. It is about helios 44-2, but principle is the same

One question.... what is this "adjusting ring" for? Mine was removed from the lens ...should I put it in again? I use the lens with adapter on Sony A77 camera
Hey there is the Helios 40-2 about the same design?
( I just got my copy last Tuesday and I noticed when you focus past 0.8m you see an opening between the focus and aperture ring. Little bit worried about dust or isn't it very bad? )
How can i repair the aperture preselection. I think i must lubricate it new

Would you know how to remove the focus collar for tripod on the helios 40-2? I don't know how and I can't lubricate the helicoid without removing it first.

Do you mean tripod collar? It has 3 little screws on the outer side. Remove those, and collar screws off.
Hello, I have Helios 40-2 from 1973. I watced your guide and fix my lens. Thanks . Now I have one more problem to fix.
My Apparature ring is little noise and no resistance when turning to open and close aparature its shaky. Can you please guide me what to do and where to lubricate if I need to do this. I try to fix that separate all few times try to see if some screw is not screw good but its not that , look like its need to lubricate . After several disassembly and assembly became even worse, hear some scraping ring is still shaky. How I can make buttery fealing up while turning this ring?

I hope its not need to separate all lens to fix that ? I wanted to put small part of lubricant on lens surface under the aparature ring but I afraid maybe later this lubricant can go under deeper in lens and on aparature blades.?
I ask about aparature blades open /close ring .
I dont ask about aparature priset ring , that is OK, nice and soft click filing.

My lens has damaged screws on the black ring. Does anybody know where to get these screws?
only from same lens being used as donor. I never encountered such screws in sale.
@@RetroFotoHouse Would these screws be in any other lens? Parts or donor Helios 40 are still pretty expensive.
