This channel is incredible. The amount of work you put in to these is really something else. I got my A7C a few days ago and I can instantly come here and go where I need. You deserve way more recognition
Sir i just want you to know i just received my a7c and not only am i excited but i wanted to thank you for this video , i am following along with my new camera and also having fun this is good content and you make having the camera a joy
Very good review. I just upgraded from a Sony a6000 to the 7C and it is a good refresher. There are a lot of capabilities and this is the place to learn about them.
Thank you for this detailed video ... learned a lot from it. I was wondering though, is there a possibility to create 'cheat cards' for the most used settings per photography subjects ... e.g. animals in a zoo, birds on trees, architecture ... thanks!
*Excellent video* REALLY helped me a lot, thank you. 1 point of note: in PAL regions, makes sense to set the camera to PAL rather than NTSC, that means that 30fps recording is not available..
Thanks so much!! This is incredibly useful. I’m a lifelong Nikon user, plunging into Sony for video, picking up A7C especially for gimbal use. I’d be keen on a crash course, especially for video features. Picture profiles for good dynamic range without too much pain in post would be welcome too.
Thanks, very useful and clear, learned a lot. Great camera, but the menu is complicated and Sony's Help Guide is really difficult to use. The training was really essential to using and enjoying the a7c.
Welcome back, a little normal goes a long way right now. I have a a7r/IV and a9 - been thinking about the a7c - because small and light is good, but was turned off by the single card slot. Cheers Hamish
Michael, thank you so much for this video. I have had Sony full frame camera for over a year and watched many videos on TH-cam about their use. Your presentation is the best yet! I am looking forward to the crash course too. (Also thanks for working with Salvation Army EDS.)
That was incredible but help me so much to understand my new a7C. One question, can you get a cable release for it? Instead of using the phone. Thanks again it was brilliant. 📸
After purchasing Sony a7c, switching from Nikon, i was puzzeled with its menu and asked sony centre for it demo which till date not recieved. Ultimarely I got above tutorial and it is so well explained that even sony people may not able to explain in such simpler way. Very very thanks bro. I remember when i first bought Nikon, i learnt a lot about focusing from ur channel...U have now made me expert in handling Sony menu.😊
AMAZING VIDEO!!! Silly question, just purchased the camera, but if I were to use my A7C with a Delgato Cam Link, could I use an HDMI to USB-C cable to connect the A7C to my Mac and it still work where I could do live recordings? Let me know what you can, thank you.
Thank you for such useful tutorial. Originally I was thinking about Canon R6 because of the touch screen. But A7C is a lighter camera for traveling. Do you know how can I geotag my photos on A7C? Is there any external unit will work on this camera? I worry about using the phone will drain the battery in my cell phone. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
I just bought the Sony A7C. I already have a big video project coming up this weekend with a client. I recorded videos (no particular picture profile) and the video is great on my camera. When I imported the videos from my camera-card to my computer I noticed that they were "mp4 for quicktime" and only 2 of the 4 videos had a "preview" available. The other 2 videos just had "quicktime" icons. When I imported them into Final Cut Pro 10 on my 2001 macbook pro, The 2 with quicktime icons showed up as "black (no video) but the audio still played. What the hell is going on? I can't have this happen when I work with my upcoming projects. Any ideas? Thanks.
I had a similar thing happen. The video played fine on the camera, so I knew the the data was all there. I imported the video straight into Adobe Premiere and it worked fine.
Hi Michael. I'm considering switching from Canon 6D to A7C, but I'm wondering if my current settings/setup in 6D is possible on the A7C. On 6D I use Manual mode and adjust aperture and shutter speed manually using the external wheels buttons, while leaving the ISO to automatic (but putting in the max to 3200 in the settings) and exposure compensation also to automatic. Is this setup possible on the A7C?
Hi Michael , Re the Sony A7c, I’m having an odd problem/error with [Focus Standard] function! If I reassign this to another button (i.e. the [AF ON] button.) and move the focus square other than the centre of the screen. The [AF ON] focus standard doesn't return the focus square to the centre. [Firmware V 2.00 installed]. I even thought the button was faulty, it isn't! PS this function on the A9ii and the A7Riii works fine. I can only assume there is a software bug in the A7c. Also if the focus is not a tracked option and even if the centre button is set to [NO Option] it will centre this focus box! Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thank you so much for this amazing and helpful video. I just bought my A7C camera and i am learning a lot from your video. I am also interested in the advanced crash course for the Sony A7C. If you decide to make it, please let me know. Thx
This seems like a logical upgrade for anyone who has a 6000 series, but I heard that the image size with APS-C lenses is way too small. If Fuji can make an APC-C sensor @ 26 Mpxl, Why didn't Sony use this camera to introduce a new 30 Mpxl sensor, so that old lenses would take reasonable size photos?
So he talks to himself, as if there's other people he's replying to. Then he makes some statement on something and says "you're right" and commends himself on the correct answer... It totally blows my mind :) Maybe he should try NLP ...yes that's right, good answer, Michael The Maven. I totally lost the camera plot over this ^^ Maybe tomorrow I can get over this and ...never mind

In all my years of using TH-cam as a resource for tutorial help, THIS stands alone as the Gold Standard. Thank you for sharing this with us all.
My ko has to my my okos now and I’m ommatidium be home
Going through this now and I agree. This is some very high quality training material. Thank you!
Bought the Sony A7C a month ago, my first “real” camera. This tutorial is gold. So many great takeaways.
Excellent video, i am using my Sony a7c now since about two years, but you explained so well and thoroughly that I learned many new things. Thanks
I've been away from my Alpha camera for few years being not well and I found this a great refresher, what a wonderful contribution I thank you. 🙏
My mother language is not English but I can understand everything. Very clear. Thanks for your time

Thank you .. It took me a week to complete this tutorial . But its worth it for every second of it .
Best tutorial I found about this camera... by far.
Thanks!
Thank you, I just got my A7C and your video really explained everything I didn't fully understand, very clearly. Thank you for that!
Thank you so much for your hard work! It's definitely not easy to make a 3 hour long tutorial. I truly appreciate it!
FINALLY. Thanks so much. One of the first videos of this kind for the A7C. I already thought the camera was non-existent 😂 Thanks
OMG i’ve been looking for a detailed video like this, it really helps thank u so much man
Very good review. I just upgraded from a Sony a6000 to the 7C and it is a good refresher. There are a lot of capabilities and this is the place to learn about them.
Just got my A7C an hour ago! thank you for this video!!
Congratulations!
Please me know when you come out with new videos on the Sony A7C. I learned a lot and I look forward to the crash course you spoke about.
You are incrdible. Amazing content. Thank you so much. For putting out such educational content for free
Thank you for this detailed video ... learned a lot from it. I was wondering though, is there a possibility to create 'cheat cards' for the most used settings per photography subjects ... e.g. animals in a zoo, birds on trees, architecture ... thanks!
Many, many thanks for your hard work! Sony should be paying you for your effort!
Thank you so much for this video. It is incredibly helpful coming from another camera manufacturer.
*Excellent video* REALLY helped me a lot, thank you. 1 point of note: in PAL regions, makes sense to set the camera to PAL rather than NTSC, that means that 30fps recording is not available..
A massive thank you 🙏 a super start for me, so very informative a link to this outstanding tutorial should be on the Sony A7C box!!! 👍👍👍
This is such an awesome video user manual. Thanks for time and help.
Thank you. Very useful video. Turns out a7c is very good indeed, and much underrated in Sony promotions.
Best video tutorial I have ever seen. You make learning so easy and your video is sublime. Thanks for posting. *****

Wonderfully covered operations of this camera model. Though this is very long video but to cover in depth, it ought to be like what it is. Thanks.
Welcome back, a little normal goes a long way right now. I have a a7r/IV and a9 - been thinking about the a7c - because small and light is good, but was turned off by the single card slot. Cheers Hamish
Very much needed , thank you.
Very informative thanks for sharing those valuable tips on the nice camera
Incredible work, thank you very much for the tutorial!
Awesome tutorial Michael, thank you so much!
You can also use the USA c port to power the camera. In my last wedding I used a battery power bank to power the camera.
Michael, thank you so much for this video. I have had Sony full frame camera for over a year and watched many videos on TH-cam about their use. Your presentation is the best yet! I am looking forward to the crash course too. (Also thanks for working with Salvation Army EDS.)

What kind of lighting did you have in the studio when filming this video?

Ive just moved from Micro 3/4 to the Sony A7C. Your video is invaluable. Did you go ahead with the Crash course? If so how can I access.
Thank you for such useful tutorial. Originally I was thinking about Canon R6 because of the touch screen. But A7C is a lighter camera for traveling. Do you know how can I geotag my photos on A7C? Hi, can you provide a link to the eyecup attachment? Thank you.
Great video! It's possible to show the focal length (mm) on the screen while recording/shooting? Can't find that on my a7c. Thanks a mill :)
Why you can film 4k at 30 and 24p and I only have the 25p option?
Thanks so so much! VERY useful!!!
Didn't expect you here
Did you use A7III as well as A7c? I want to know if their low light video performance is same
Tip: if you rename start to intro in your desc. The chaptermarks will be in the red bar of the video as well!
Do you have the crash course for the 7c?
Thanks a lots! Yes course!!
Would love the crash course
Thanks a lot for this huge tutorial. Very appreciate. ✌️

Coming from A7iii I can't seem to find a way to disable the rear wheel? e.g. I want to change ISO without my dial. Is it possible?
Hi Michael. I'm considering switching from Canon 6D to A7C, but I'm wondering if my current settings/setup in 6D is possible on the A7C. You just taught me more than a 100$ photography class could do for free! I appreciate it brother!

How do i set ISO to the control wheel? :'( it works on my A7ii, but not on the A7C

Interested in crash course
At 15.02 it is said there is a little eye cup accessory that clips on to the EVF. - is that a fact ????

@@MMaven - Many thanks for that - However only works if you don't want to use the EVF and the hot shoe at the same time.
Hi I am interested in the advanced crash course, I have asked to join your Facebook group.
Let me know if and when this is available.
Thank you so much for this amazing and helpful video. I just bought my A7C camera and i am learning a lot from your video. I am also interested in the advanced crash course for the Sony A7C. If you decide to make it, please let me know. Thx

How to take portrait pictures in auto mode
Unlike all other Sony full frame mirrorless cameras the Sony a7C is made is China and this highly important.
Good overview till 1:20 will continiue next time

well, the obvious reason is because they want you to buy their FF lenses

Is there really a clip on eye piece? I haven’t seen anyone else’s come with this
Thats correct- My bad!
The bigger quest is it worth the price!
