He was still basically ok singing in 2021. He's had some sort major injury. He's in that weird place Joe Elliot and Axl are in where they just make weird falsetto old man noises. Makes me fear what's gonna happen to my own voice honestly.

Given what Dave endured and came back, those vocals have a haunting linger to them that almost makes the song more sinister. No disrespect to Dave, but I totally dig this version.

I got my first Megadeth CD in 1990. I grew up in the 80s and 90s. Loved all kinds of music. Rock, jazz, classical , metal...etc. Dave Mustaine is so talented it blows me away.

And what we said about Dave: HE'S A FUCKING BEAST! he's is 60 and shred the guitar likes his 20 a fucking God. My boy Kiko is the fusion of all lead guitarrist that pass on Megadeth line-up, another God. Totally pleasant to saw and ear Holy Wars with this line-up

How many people would go through what Dave has gone through and still be playing. He loves playing his music and I love listing to it. Been a fan since the first album in 1985. I was 22 back then.
He's a little raspy but still hits most of the main the notes and does not skip words. Sure, we've all heard the the studio recording of this tune hundreds of times so it's a comparison? I say all things considered he's sounding good. If it's live it sounds a lot better than us sitting here with our headphones or speaker phones.

OMD, I've grown out of heavy music, this came as a recommendation, as I used to love Megadeth - still do. I didn't even know Dave had cancer, it's painful to see, but man he still rocks. I recall covering this ages ago with band mates, and the vocalist couldn't sing it and play at the same time, so it ended up being an instrumental cover. It's absolutely insane to play and sing yet here we have a bloke with throat cancer singing and shredding the guitar as if it were some kind of 3 chord pop song. That's what makes such bands legendary.
I'm very grateful to know that Dave is still at it and giving it his all, I just watched the music video of this song and here I am blown away even more with this beyond amazing performance. Thank you so much Dave and the rest of the band! 💖

I didn't know that Dave's illness was effecting him so bad. The band still sounds amazing. I absolutely love this song, as many do im sure. I've seen Dave do this song flawlessly in previous vids. Kudos to him for still hitting the stage

Dave is a legend. Always stands back up no matter what life throws at him. Forgot what he injured in his hand/arm back in the early 2000s, but apparently he was never supposed to be able to play guitar again, or play as a good, but he relearned how to play and still shreds. Now he's survived throat cancer and is back to singing. It's rough, but still an amazing feat after cancer.
Got 0 problems with his voice.. he's just gettin old. Dude been through cancer and almost lost his hand's mobility. It's cool to see how after all that shit he been through he still keep moving and struggling nd doing what he loves to do.. I almost shed a tear when I heard Dave's voice. This guy is my hero and hearing him like that kills me. But it's not compassion. Dave is the FUCKING man. I know what he's been through and still plays and sings like a God. Megadeth is one of the best metal bands and still outstands this day. The best for them!
I know just seeing this man singing is a miracle because of the things he's faced down and beaten in his life.. but his voice now has a very strong hint of Lemmy from Motorhead. Good on Dave for never giving up and still producing face melting metal.
4:40 on is why we listen to Dave, not just his voice you clowns. He is a king. Put some respect on his name. If he wants to rock out until he dead in the ground he has earned that right.

Dave got better as this tour went on. They absolutely killed it when I saw them a couple weeks ago. Also having a large crowd going more crazy than any show I've been to in over a decade didn't hurt.
First concert I ever went to was Megadeth Rust in Peace with Testament on their Practice What you Preach tour. Still a top 3 show of lots and lots I’ve been to over the past 30+ years 🙌
that rough and gritty vocals Mustaine has now that he is older is something that I really liked in The Sick [...] album and I like the live performance result for these classics like Holy Wars and such
I think mustaine could hire a singer to preserve his throat, and continue play guitar, so Megadeath can last more. He is a master player! Awesome! This is one of the best music I ever heard. Love Megadeath, one of the top 10 of all time FOR ME.
I've listened to Megadeth since 1990 when the "RIP" album came out! I can see Dave is giving it all to sing! It's like his vocals are gone but he's been strong and beat throat cancer. Plus Dave is in his 60's! They still rock and have been around along time! Keep rocking Dave!
His vocals aren't gone yet. I've been watching the concert videos and word is that he's steadily improving. That said, his deeper vocals make Megadeth's music darker and more intense. I hate to put it this way but despite Metallica coming back to thrash in 2008, Megadeth is still the better band. And this is from someone listening to both bands.
I have always admired Dave. He is my ejemple of motivation. Even god has tried so many times to take him away, and still here is.He's the most resilient person in the world.This performance is pure gold.
Literally just saw MD a week ago and Dave was on fucking point. He’s had a long road to recovery but for all the legends his age that are still out there doing it he’s still having the most fun on stage. Playing is as good as it ever was and his vocal work, while different, is in a great place now. Megadeth does, and always will, rule 🤘

I'm reminded of something Jerry Garcia (of all people) said: "We're not performers; we are who we are in that moment". I think that encapsulates an honest performance like this. In an age of computer music, of derivative AI rubbish, that man stands up there defiantly showing the ethos of true rock, of real music: to give it all you have as a flesh and blood human being. So what if his voice isn't as strong as it was 1990? I'd pay to watch a world class musician like Dave sneeze, and he's up there absolutely shredding.

this is the tightest this band has sounded in years. Saw them Austin 2022, the night TSTDATD came out. This is one band I would love to see just add a singer and blow the freakin' roof off the joint. No shame in that!
I didn't know that Dave's illness was effecting him so bad. The band still sounds amazing. I absolutely love this song, as many do im sure. I've seen Dave do this song flawlessly in previous vids. Kudos to him for still hitting the stage

Dave is a legend. Always stands back up no matter what life throws at him. Forgot what he injured in his hand/arm back in the early 2000s, but apparently he was never supposed to be able to play guitar again, or play as a good, but he relearned how to play and still shreds. Now he's survived throat cancer and is back to singing. It's rough, but still an amazing feat after cancer.
Even in D tuning the notes seem too high for Dave. They really should play their songs on C tuning, it would just be more badass.

Got 0 problems with his voice.. he's just gettin old. Dude been through cancer and almost lost his hand's mobility. It's cool to see how after all that shit he been through he still keep moving and struggling nd doing what he loves to do..

I almost shed a tear when I heard Dave's voice. This guy is my hero and hearing him like that kills me. But it's not compassion. Dave is the FUCKING man. I know what he's been through and still plays and sings like a God. Megadeth is one of the best metal bands and still outstands this day. The best for them!
I know just seeing this man singing is a miracle because of the things he's faced down and beaten in his life.. but his voice now has a very strong hint of Lemmy from Motorhead.

Dave got better as this tour went on. They absolutely killed it when I saw them a couple weeks ago. Also having a large crowd going more crazy than any show I've been to in over a decade didn't hurt.

I've listened to Megadeth since 1990 when the "RIP" album came out! I can see Dave is giving it all to sing! It's like his vocals are gone but he's been strong and beat throat cancer. Plus Dave is in his 60's! They still rock and have been around along time! Keep rocking Dave!
His vocals aren't gone yet. I've been watching the concert videos and word is that he's steadily improving. That said, his deeper vocals make Megadeth's music darker and more intense. I hate to put it this way but despite Metallica coming back to thrash in 2008, Megadeth is still the better band. And this is from someone listening to both bands.

Literally just saw MD a week ago and Dave was on fucking point.
He’s had a long road to recovery but for all the legends his age that are still out there doing it he’s still having the most fun on stage. Playing is as good as it ever was and his vocal work, while different, is in a great place now.

I'm reminded of something Jerry Garcia (of all people) said: "We're not performers; we are who we are in that moment". I think that encapsulates an honest performance like this. In an age of computer music, of derivative AI rubbish, that man stands up there defiantly showing the ethos of true rock, of real music: to give it all you have as a flesh and blood human being. So what if his voice isn't as strong as it was 1990? I'd pay to watch a world class musician like Dave sneeze, and he's up there absolutely shredding.
