What an excellent production. That episode could go on TV and no body would guess that wasn’t a professional production. Brilliant.

The content and cinematography of your videos have definitely matured - this is maybe the best one yet. You are tied with another couple for "Best Sailing Channel" on the internet.

Hello from Alberta Canada. Just amazing video and photos really shows off the beauty of Namibia totally different than what we assume. The ease of access was also very impressive no wonder it's become so popular. I hope all of those visitors are acting responsibly by taking out everything they take in. Oh and the sound track this time was stellar used headphones this time excellent picks.
Looking forward to your next posting. Thanks

The most dramatic, awe inspiring episode of not just this one but all of the sailing channels I have seen so far. Just utterly breathtaking. Words don't do this justice, really amazing footage and it kept getting better and better as the video progressed. Makes me and probably many more want to go there to see it first hand. Thank you for bringing us all along on this epic journey.

As someone from the Australian outback it’s great to see you finding beauty in an arid environment. Re 4WD, it’s not so much about speed as torque and traction. Engage 4WD before you need it and select the right gear to give you torque to get through. Automatic transmissions have made the second part much easier, but it’s still better to maintain a slower but steady speed that both gives momentum through the really soft bits and maintains control. If it’s really soft, lower your tyre pressures, but you need a means to re inflate as well.

  • @origamighost

Wow, amazing. Reminds me of travelling through the central Australian desert some years ago in spring, after some unusually significant rain had fallen. It was in places a desert of flowers stretching to the horizon, growing on bright red sand, like some bizarre surrealist garden. In another place leafless burnt black trees from a recent fire, like those in your video, in a rolling sea of bright green grass!Absolutely astounding landscapes! Mind blown.

You have always excelled in your vlogs, but this one stands out even among your other outstanding ones! I cannot imagine the work involved in producing something of this quality! Your musical scores are so varied and so fit the mood of the scenery! The narration is timely and timed and in time! I was really concerned that your delaying the dune hike would be spoiled the next day by lines of thunderstorms rolling through! (Just kidding!)
On one of my trips around the US on my motorcycle a few years ago, I decided to go off road in New Mexico to see Chaco Canyon. I had bypassed it several times before because I was very hesitant to ride my touring street m/c on a dirt road. But I decided to do it anyway. It was 18 miles of open desert with rock canyons on both horizons. Wind had piled up the soft sand as it blew across the road. I went through very slowly at first but after a while realized it was only about an inch deep and over a washboarded hard pack. So I sped up to about 15 mph without a problem until I suddenly hit a patch that was 7" deep and I went down immediately! Because the sand offered no resistance to the tires sideways, I was unable to pivot my motorcycle back up. I had stripped all the removable items off of it to lighten the load, but it was still too heavy to lift the entire 500# myself without a pivot point. I had been on the road for about an hour and had passed NO ONE! I was down in the middle of the road for another hour and saw NO ONE! The gas kept leaking out of the tank and I was afraid I would not have enough to get me back to the road much less into Chaco Canyon and back out. I had done everything I knew to do without success. I sat down on my removed luggage on the side of the road and told the Lord that and asked for some help. I stood up and immediately saw a dust cloud coming from both directions at once. Two subcompact vehicles met at the same time right in front of me and 3 large Indian women got out and came over. As I tried to explain to them what I was asking them to do in steadying the bike and putting their feet at the edge of each wheel to allow it to pivot up while I squatted down and lifted from down under the engine on the down side. On the signal I lifted (and so did they by the handlebars and luggage rack!) and that bike jumped up to the vertical so fast I almost went over the top of the seat and landed on the other side on my head! As I was left trying to figure out what just happened, while trying to keep the bike upright as they all walked back to their cars and left without one word being said by them! I balanced the bike precariously in the sand while I tried to work my way around to the left side of the bike to get the kickstand down and keep the bike upright! In less than 30 seconds I had done that and secured the bike. I looked around and the cars were gone in opposite directions and there were no dust clouds in sight! Draw your own conclusions, but don't hesitate to ask the Lord for help when you've done all that you can do. Of course it's a little harder to get stuck in the soft sand in a 4x4!

The last time I was at Sossusvlei, the road from the camp site at Sesriem all the way to the end was mostly sand...all the way (±65 km road). I was driving an ordinary Toyota truck without 4x4. That was in 2000 and those days nobody was allowed to camp in the reserve. I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed it because it is truly spectacular.

Hello Florence, is good to see you guys are doing well in Namibia, those scenes are only comparable to the ones from the sea of tranquility on the moon. It looks you are enjoying your time in the desert . Dont get me wrong, I love the landscape and the sights you show on your video. Lovely views, plenty of beautiful sandy terracota dunes, the solitude and peaceful environment surrounding that area is very unique and I honestly love it. I wish you the best in the balance of your journey back home to England. Bear hugs to you from Colombia. I look forward seeing your videos again in the near future. Blessings!

Beautiful documentary. Love your work! Tip: to avoid getting bogged in sand drop tire pressures to around 15- 20 PSI. This delivers more rubber on the sand, more grip, a smoother ride and way less stress. You can slow right down and take in the scenery without getting bogged. Downside is you need access to pump when you get back on the black-top!

Not to make unfair comparisons… but a lot of the sailing channels who claim to be circumnavigating seem to either be stuck in the Caribbean or the South Pacific for extended stays… you two are really getting in with it and the quality of your videos has grown with each stop along the way. Now that the end is somewhat in sight, I hope you’ll continue sailing.
