You should change your weight in the settings otherwise you cannot calculate the calories correctly. Roughly every kilo weight is 1 calorie per kilometer. So 10 kilo should burn 50 calories per 5k

That's what I was gonna say, you need to change bodyweight, it makes a huge difference - I tried something similar to see difference in vo2

I just got a Goruck backpack and I decided to try 20kg, and man that was tough. I made it for about 30 minutes, but I will not try that much again until I get conditioned to less weight. 10kg is not a problem to walk around for me.

Heard good things about the goruck packs … yup, wise idea to build it up - does / can cause a few aches if loaded too quickly ! Thanks for the feedback

I’ve noticed the Ultra is a little skewed versus Whoop and S8. We must have crossed paths a few times neighbour! Top video content as usual.

Thanks… think they all differ weirdly, so, you must be pretty close then ?!

Still an interesting comparison. Like you mentioned in previous videos adding weight just gets you more bang for you buck when working out. I may have to put a weighed vest on my Santa wish list this year :) I already get a little taste of this I think when I'm carrying my backpack to and from the train to work. Not as heavy as your experiment of course, but it gets a bit heavy when I've got my laptop, change of clothes and some water/snacks for the day.

Get it on the list … love them. Just about to upload another workout video with it on - quite a high rep beast. Thanks for the feedback as always

Good Effort, but I suspect the algorithm takes in your weight in measuring calories burned. It doesn't know you have an additional 25kg on without manually changing your weight input. FYI

Thanks… now you say it I realised how obvious that sounds! Fun trying and will give it another go with proper weight input ! Thanks again

It's because the weight is spread efficiently over your entire body, and the entire body is carrying and moving the weight. Like in the fire brigade our kit all together weighs about 25kg to 30kg, but you don't feel it when you wear it. But put your breathing apparatus in one hand and your boots clothes and helmet in a bag in the other and then go for a walk. Different story (and obviously your arms will feel the burn) When you wear it it's still a work out but not as intense as focusing the weight on a body part.
Drag is a far more effective running/walking/swimming training tool. Try a harness with a rope and tyre attached to it. That kills

Thanks … like the sound of dragging something for a long time. Big fan of the heavy sled - push and pull .
And yes, that makes total sense ! Thanks
