- Recently just finished the Fox 62 km ultra by @RunThrough-Trails. A fantastic day, brilliantly organised and superb route.
This got my brain ticking over about all the slightly different reasons I love running ultramarathons, so decided to share !
Enjoy.
Shout to @DanRuns and the GTR crew plus everyone else who did a fantastic job on the day to make this event possible.
Also, shout to @BenNotley who was running a 100 miler the very same day!! And smashed it…

Having that goal is always good, also the buzz of attending an event & meeting like-minded people and yes, as you say, we all love a bit of bling 🏅
Exactly ! 👍 love a medal … thanks, hope all is well your end
I love the Ultra Running community in particular. People are always kind when you’re running alongside them. I’m glad you had a great experience!
Thanks Dan - totally agree with you … hope to meet properly soon

Cheers Mark … just about to watch your upload !
Great ultra review and the Fox is a superb event. I find trail runners tend to look out for each other, ie sharing salt tabs etc. love this channel
Thanks Paul - appreciate the kind comment and cool feedback
I just wanted to say how much your channel inspires me. Watching you make the most of every free moment to run, train, and stay active has truly resonated with me. Your commitment to fitness, despite a busy life with work and family, is incredibly motivating.
Over the past few years, I’ve faced some tough challenges, including losing my parents and going through a stressful house purchase. These experiences set me back in my fitness journey. I’m 42 and have always dreamed of being fit, but I’ve struggled to stay consistent. Seeing your dedication has reignited my desire to get back on track.
Thank you for sharing your journey and showing that it’s possible to make time for fitness no matter what. I hope to adopt a similar mindset and use every available moment to work towards my goals. Keep up the amazing work - you’re truly inspiring!
It would be nice to have a video " how to have an athlete mindset" but I believe that depends on everyone's journey.
Ciao,
Mattia
Thanks Mattia for taking your time to write such a kind comment, much appreciated. Sorry to hear about the recent loss and troubles, not easy to deal with … I am very lucky that fitness, movement and exercise is so ingrained in my daily life and if any of that rubs off on to others - then great stuff. I will indeed to continue to make the vids and will be doing more vids about training, mindset and just generally anything to do with what I love .
Thanks again
Absolutely agree with everything you said James. Completely spot on mate! 👌 Glad to hear the race went well and the recovery has been good too. I look forward to seeing what you do next mate. 😎🤘 Also thanks for the mention in the description bud. 👍
Cheers buddy… was a good day and planted a few more seeds to what’s to come ! Hope all is well with you, the body and fam
Enjoy your videos! Have you had any issues with longer runs in Altras? Or even running in Altras everyday? Seems you dont run everyday of the week anymore? I am curious what you think is best to avoid injury/works for you?
Thanks. So I basically run about 5/6 days a week but also do lots of callisthenics and weights plus the odd gravel bike ride and lots of heavy rucking … this is how and why (touch wood) I have stayed injury free - it’s the variation, different modalities mixed in with moving, training daily that’s worked …
Re the altra, I rotate throughout the week, just did an easy run in superiors @18mm stack, then might switch to the Mont Blancs at a higher stack, then go for the Nike ultra fly - with an 8 mm drop - again, all variations seems to help
@@movemorenowjames Thank you!
