"Ten Days to Wreck the Economy" is the only book Liz should be writing.
Agreed
Populist nutcases all confuse global markets with "the deep state"
That would of been far more appropriate title for this ghastly book of her's.
Mind you that would been telling the truth or confessing and Liz doesn't do that.
Never forget that the Tories put her in charge of running the country.
You misspelled "ruining".
I would point out that there is blame to go around here, "we" as a nation put the Tories in a position to make that call, yes she was an horrific PM and pretty dreadful human-being but the whole process of how she got there can't be ring-fenced around the Tories, although I could be incorrect they didn't change their leadership rules and in the UK we don't elect a PM.
@@mjc8281 I didn't voty Tory I voted for Corbyn. So my conscience is clear.
The membership not the MPs and the MPs did not like that.
@@thegoat11111The self-congratulatory note of certain comments on this thread (as elsewhere) is discouraging.
Since we don’t have a Presidential electoral system, I didn’t “vote Corbyn”, I voted for the local candidate adopted by the Labour Party.
Until such time as the Labour Party shifts its policies away from its current “centrist” position I will continue to vote for the Labour candidate endorsed by the national party.
I realise that some on the Left would rather spoilt their ballot than compromise their beliefs.
I don’t think that’s an effective way of changing the way we live in this country.
Feel free to disagree…

She is an arrogant narcassist.

She's a scapegoat.
A scapegoat in her own narcissistic mind
In fairness that's not uncommon amongst senior politicians of all types.
This woman was never up to the job. The broken political system allowed her to be appointed PM. She should have never got there.
"The system" should frankly be based on more democratic principles or public popularity. No matter what you think of him, Boris had a 80 seat majority and was pushed out by sad tories despite his popularity. Liz Truss was the preferred candidate among the Tory members over Rishi. She too was pushed out by her party for Rishi and Jeremy Hunt. THAT is not good.
Awww, you're a bit frightened of change, there there.
Boris expelled everyone in the parliamentary party who had some shards of honour. This is why such political incompetents as Liz and Rishi could reach the top.
@@Dimera09 there are two factions in the Tory party, the liberal faction and the rightwing faction
Delusional.
Is she calm in a crisis, or is she simply unaware that crises have bad implications?
I opt for the latter
Too thick to worry, perhaps?
Psychopaths don’t feel anxiety. They, in fact, thrive in crisis and seek to cause it.
Truss and Kwateng came into politics with the idea they know better. They didn't bother learning how to govern or how to turn their ideas into policy during their time in parliament and as ministers, and when she was PM she acted as a bulldozer trying to force square pegs into circular holes.
This comment made me chuckle in an otherwise bleak day so thank you!
'She's calm in a crisis' is the nicest way of saying, 'she's simply far too daft to see anything beyond the end of her nose', I've ever had.
Crisis, what crisis?
Calm in a crisis or just possibly too thick to grasp the situation .
💯. Definitely this rather than the other.
"What are her strengths?". "Good in a crisis." lol. She created crisis after crisis.
"Good in (creating) a crisis"
Quite right she created am by her own actions of hubris.
Liz Truss is not and never has been, a mathematician.
The 🥬 has better grasp of basic arithmetic than Truss could ever manage in her life time.
Agreed, she holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. She'd need to hold at minimum an MA but more likely a doctorate in economics to even be considered an economist. Of course economists aren't exactly mathematicians, but they do need to understand and use mathematics in their work. As is, the best description I can think of for her is 'failed politician'.

Yeh, I thought it very odd and not very impartial having him on to comment on what went on as well, but then this is Times Radio were talking about here.
Sherlock Holmes Discovers Lizz Truss' competence vault! Yeah, it is total fiction.
Littlewood doesnt seems to understand that the markets have formed a positive opinion of the UK's ability to fund its plans for borrowing (for whatever purpose the government determines are required). Their positive opinion is based on assessments of economic fundamentals plus the facts the UK has its own currency and it's government can responsibly raise funds through taxation.
When the Conservative Party acted irresponsibly, the markets expressed their concern (as we expected).
I'd have thought anyone with Economics at A level would have been able to work that out, too. Indeed, anyone who has ever had to take out a loan should have expected it to happen. Lenders want to see you can afford to borrow. She was doing the equivalent of saying she desperately needed to borrow money to buy a car but telling the lender that, oh, by the way, she was going to spend 95% of her income for the next year on a new frocks, a racehorse, and going on holiday to Bermuda for six weeks.
I've watched the Times Radio so my friends don't have to: Non-London normal people tear Times Radio luv in apart.
I would not give her a job in poundland.
Mark Littlewood's claim that "unfunded government spending is bad so why the complaint about unfunded tax cuts" is an over simplification; two points which he elides, unfunded government spending isn't always inflationary (it depends a great deal on what is bought with that borrowing) whereas unfunded tax cuts are so close to being entirely inflationary as to be the same, and secondly in a similar vein unfunded government spending can in fact be "funded" if it is used to acquire goods or services that increase productivity, for example infrastructure like roads (if they are genuinely needed), or generate an ongoing income stream for the government (in other words pay for themselves).

"Why aren't people worried about trillions in unfunded government spending?"
Because government spending against borrowing provides direct value to tax payers which results in (among other things) long term reduction in government costs in other areas including education, public health, and infrastructure. Tax cuts against borrowing provide short term growth in the finance sector of the economy with high levels of volatility that often accelerate the popping of market bubbles and result in economic blowback.
