the biggest thing I learned after having my baby is that every baby is so different and not to place expectations on how your baby should be. ❤️

THIS! I wish I could go back and tell myself to relax and just go with the flow with how my baby is. Makes it so much more enjoyable anyway!

Absolutely agree with this times 1 billion… My first literally did not sleep through the night until she was a year old. And my second has been only waking up once during the night since he has been a month old… I also haven’t been putting him on a strict schedule anymore, so I think that’s it! Not putting the pressure on them to be the perfect baby we think they should be… Because in reality, all babies are perfect little gifts!

@@JessConte the funny this is, on the title of the video they have BOOKS about "what to aspect" before having a baby............. but i guess reading that book was a no go and being on the phone was a better plan.

I love that you are still able to make mom content without overexposing your daughter to the internet, I think you have a really great balance! My baby is almost 6 months old, a lot of these things I have learned and dealt with as well. I also watched your pregnancy videos at the same time I was going through it and now I watch the videos you post now with Makaiah postpartum. It definitely has made me feel less alone in my mom journey, considering I don’t have any mom friends to look up too. So I really appreciate it 💛

hi jess! idk if anyone else has commented this yet, but all moms’ body odor changes to be a bit stronger after birth for awhile and while you’re breastfeeding to help the baby find you / their food easier! you’re not crazy or making it up, don’t worry! :) it’s just your body trying to do everything it can for your precious baby! 💛

Praying for safe labor and delivery! May God’s will happen in your life, and your baby boys life!! As well as those you love. God is with you through it all! Alway and always! (Look up the difference between the two it’s a blessing, He is both for His children Forever more!) remember you’re needed and loved! As you go into this journey how you feel is important and matters. You can talk to those around you, someone outside of your circle, and most of all the Lord! God gives us people to talk to when we need them and uses us/them through Him! He provides what we need through Him! Glory be to God! Have a great week!! ❤❤❤ God bless❤

I agree with the marriage part. Our foundation of friendship and working as a team really blossomed after becoming parents. Even through colic and a high needs baby, it is what has carried us. If you do the work beforehand, it will pay off! Get counseling, talk to good married friends, friends who have been married longer, etc.

Not a mom, but tip for getting all the stickers off: I work in a lab and we have to move labels without ripping them sometimes so we use freeze spray. The sticker becomes unstuck and doesn’t leave a residue (additionally we are able to transfer it to another surface and when it warms up it sticks, but I assume most mothers are throwing them away). Super easy, just spray the surface of the sticker and it should come right off.

I love that you brought up the smells! I learned this after my second child. Because you’re breast feeding your body releases more smells so your baby can find your boobs, because they’re basically blind. I’ve gone through 6 deodorants this year. I finally found one at my local Amish store. Good luck to you!

  • @mmsmms3161

#1 most important thing i wish i knew & always share!
🔴Fully developed adults commonly have a dairy sensitivitys and alot of babies who DO NOT have a fully developed digestive tract can develop crying /collic from food allergies. So it took me awhile to get all dairy products out of my system but once i did stop ALL DAIRY PRODUCTS she stopped crying and was so much better! So i stopped eating beef also since some dairy components would be in beef as well. So so worth the hassle & happy baby!!!

  • @breannamanghat1420
    @breannamanghat1420 ปีที่แล้ว +1

100 percent agree with all of this.
    1. I put a bunch of pressure on myself to breastfeed, medical professionals really push this, but just do what you can. I do formula and breastmilk because I don't make enough, but baby is fed! Also the process is awful when you start, nobody tells you you only make a few milliliters in the beginning! Cabbage leaves, heatpacks help with engorgement and cold compresses after feeds. Also laying over baby on all 4s with clogged ducts!
    2. Nobody talks about sleeping baby grunts lol so loud!
    3. Yes, tell people what you need them to do
    4. Buy easy snacks for yourself, and have a large water tumbler!
    5. Don't be so stressed about nap windowsbaby will tell you when they're tired, but log feedings if you can in case they get sick!
    6. Baby carriers help you get stuff done!
    7. You can only help your baby if you help yourself, focus on your overall health
    You got this!
And ya, I feel like the smell thing is real lol!

A lady at the store said that my smell would never be the same, even after deliver. I didn’t believe her at the time but she was right! It’s ok though. I also had the smell problem after covid I told people but nobody understood me I am now so happy that I am not the only person. The smell at the toilet, chicken (poulry) and eggs and trash smelled so different but now after a year I can say that everything is normal again. You just have to wait🙏💕

Thank you so much for sharing ❤️. Our first little one is due in about 2 weeks and it is very calming hearing you talk about how your motherly instincts kick in and that even though it’s hard, it’s the best! Trying to keep a positive and calm attitude going into this new season!

@JessConte my mother in law would slowly and carefully pinch her baby’s ear if they were biting and they would stop. It assimilates with pain which makes them avoid doing it.
Definitely don’t agree with mamas who’ll spank their baby if they bite because babies don’t understand what it’s for at that stage and won’t assimilate it to them biting

Literally I used the brush for cradle cap today as my baby had cradle cap and I assumed it will go away and after using it today it’s all gone. Also I just downloaded the app, thanks. This is good as I can now find out exactly how much formula my baby is taking because I think she’s taking less

Another fabulous video 😊I would like to add, after having a little potato, it’s important to not be so hard on yourself especially when it comes to personally meeting deadlines or completing projects you had in mind.

Hi Jess, can we please get a more in depth video around Makaiah’s bedtime routine and how you got her to start sleeping through the night? My 11 month old is still waking at least 3 times a night 😫🥲

I’m an only child but was fortunate enough to grow up around my cousins. I had my 1st baby 6 months to the day. She’s 6 months today and growing like crazy.

I love watching these videos! No baby here yet, but likely in the next year I’ll be back trying to gain all the knowledge on pregnancy and newborns ❤
One ask: do you ever see yourself recording yourself bullet journaling? That is so fun to me but I don’t know how to start!

Where I live we have to take class provided at the hospital before we can leave with the baby. We learn cpr and all that for babies. I have 3 kids so because I asked if I had to take the class each time and I did as a refresher 😅 comes in handy for sure. I highly recommend everyone to take the classes. Better to have the knowledge and not need it then to need it and not know how.
For me my oldest was in newborn for several months. She was just tiny. My girls also lived in the footed pj's. It was just practical.
Best to know too not everyone can't breastfeed. I wanted too. I tried but I never produced any milk. Fed is best.
