Amazing videos!! Love to see the quantity of gauges you got!!! I just got my first lathe... Now I'm saving for a set of gauges... It's kind of painful... Got my lathe but not gauges!!!
Hi, thanks for all your videos. Has restarted my interest in woodturning..have only previously done green wood on a pole lathe. Keep up good work. Cant wait to start once i order some chisels.
Hi Ian, tried to reply to your email. Mailer demon??? Response - As a New Turner, the Standard Type 3 Chisel Set is your best option. Forget all the other tools for now. These will allow you to turn anything from a pen to a 12 inch bowl, with no other tools necessary apart from maybe a parting tool. I don't know what the Drive Centre is called but I know they had them in stock. After I mention it each time on a video they sell out.
Another great idea glen thank you for sharing, I haven't had time to have a go at the star shape tea light holder and i certainly can't bake cakes 😂 maybe a rolling pin 😅 take care both of you 🍻
Hi Glenn & Liza, Lots of great tips in this video, thank you! I just bought the 4” Nova jaws on sale and now I know what those threaded holes are for, perfect timing on this video thanks again, Wayne from Alberta.
Hey there! I appreciate your ingenuity and humor. Have you ever made tower jaws, or any other kind of pin jaws using this technique? How would you imagine the process changes? Thanks!
Thank you for this video ….. as always, I learned some great ways to make my lathe even more versatile! Don’t really have a use for them right now, but I think I will make one up just to have it available. Thanks again guys ….. best to y’all 🤠🇨🇱. ( Just a little lesson in Texan 🤠)
Nice one Glenn all we have to do is think about it, and then think outside the box job done. Every time I think yes ill do that you go ( o ya and if you do this you get this ) brilliant 😊
@@glennteagleofukwoodcraftca5308 Hi Glenn, thanks for providing the knowledge and inspiration. I made a mixture of the 'pendant jaws' and 'scoops' styles, adjusted for scoops, primarily because I don't have as many chucks as you do, so being able to fit the jig quickly to standard chuck jaws is essential. My second attempt is an improvement on the first; 'so far so good'!!
Hello Glen, Thanks for your videos. I’ve just ordered a set of Charnwood small Cole jaws so I can follow your methods to make some wooden jaws. I noted when ordering the Cole jaws it said that you should restrict speed to 600rpm. I have some larger Cole jaws and wasn’t aware that you should significant reduce speed. I haven’t had any problems but wondered what speed do you use them at? Thanks. Neil
Hi Neil, I turn at 2500 RPM on my small one that I have my Wooden jaws on. I've never had an issue. I'm not saying for you to do it, but I've never had a problem. My big cole jaws, I tend to turn anything between 1200-1600 on those. I only use them to finish off the bottom of a bowl. taking the foot off. It's recommended at 600 but again in 20 years of using that set of cole jaws I've never had a problem with them.
Glenn and Liza there is a lot of good information in that video, it seems to be endless to what you can do with them. Great stuff. Q how can I get into your shop as Im looking for carbides. Thanks
Are you fishing macro next need to see you got some timber for you I can't turn or cut down, only 3bits I am sure you'll sort it just want some live worms for exchange

Morning Liza. Could you please ask Glenn which screw chuck he recommends. Thanks a bunch guys.
Glenn says he has the 2 inch one from RDG Tools.

Hard thinking up ideas for new vids. These latest ones were to answer question. Got any ideas?
Hey there! I appreciate your ingenuity and humor. Have you ever made tower jaws, or any other kind of pin jaws using this technique? How would you imagine the process changes? Thanks!
Hi. I have no need for wooden pin jaws. I should imagine the same process would work, just extend the wood on your chuck.

Hello Glenn and Liza; as always, plenty to learn! Presumably the 'pendant jaws' you showed could be adjusted for scoops?
Hi David. Possibly. Not tried it, as I have made some specifically for scoops. Give it a go. Let us know how you get on.
