Getting gc on H1b is almost impossible these days as gc queue for indians are so long.. it will take from 15 years to 150 years to get gc for indians on H1b these days..some 10, 15 years back indians used to get gc in less than 5 years.. if we are abroad born, then only we ll get gc fast in the current scenario..
I agree...comparing to other countries,there is a long list Indians looking for a status change from H1 B to GC.I wish if they speed up the process ..

I think what you said about work visa is just by theoretical basis and not on practical experience.I suppose you are not working in a field like IT in which most of the H1b ppl work.. Firstly, Now a days no American companies sponsor H1bs only some consultancies do.. For that too rejection rate is very high..Only option for an Indian to apply for H1b is to get hired by an Indian company and apply H1b through them. Secondly, for application processing they take for ever. They even keep your extension/ transfer for more than a year and will grant you visa for a few months or maximum for a year. Hence six years of H1b visa includes multiple extensions and there are high chances of getting the visa rejected and we have to travel back. Thirdly, premium processing is still ON and we are still applying for our employees in premium processing but the rejection rate is high ..I don’t think H1b is a feasible option these days. I work for an Indian company but even we prefer ppl with GC and citizenship now a days to avoid hassle.

Of course not. No chance of getting pr and high expenditure
But if you have a British citizenship, it would be easier than a nurse with an Indian passport. Same about nurses from Canada if they have a Canadian citizenship, it would be much easier to find hospitals that prefer to hire them with a TN visa.

I think you need IELTS or TOEFL. Without IELTS what Shinoth was saying was H1B visa sponsored by an employer.Aside from that I don't think there's any other way that doesn't involve a TOEFL/IELTS score. Unless you're a refugee.
