Hey Soleyman I've been building cloud skills since December last year. Its been so enjoyable learning it. While its a huge feat that you attained mastery of the cloud in 3 months, i think you had a lot of things going for you already. - You had the financial resources to support yourself - You had access to 24/7 power supply. - You probably didn't have as many responsibilities that took your time. I come from Nigeria. - I don't have the luxury of good electricity. We barely see a few hoirs of electricity - Even if i tried, my laptop is still really crappy. I don't have opportunities to borrow or loan one. - I just graduated and have responsibilities, which i can't cater to because I'm not financially capable of doing so. I have no job. We come from vastly different economies. It'll take more for me to do what you've done. I'd at least need to be making a sustainable amount of money to support this dream. What do you think?

I have my heart set on learning AWS, so after watching this video I'm gonna Start again on the course and NOT GIVE UP!
This may work if you're already some sort of an engineer and you're transitioning to cloud. But as someone with a cloud computing degree and 8 certs across CompTIA, AWS, and Microsoft, I can tell you first hand it is VERY difficult to get a cloud role right now for entry level.
@@_kinsai That's most of it. Because of the market downturn I'm currently competing with much more experienced individuals for junior roles if the junior roles even exist. Every job has over 100 applications within an hour. Start searching for junior roles and see for yourself. I'm not saying that it isn't worth doing. The market will change as it always does and opportunities will come. I actually like this guys channel and he offers practical tips on learning the cloud that I enjoy. But if you can go from zero to cloud role in 3 months I'll eat my boot.
@@colinholmes7180 Unfortunately that is true to pretty much any tech job atm. Whenever I see Senior roles for any frontend or backend role, it always has like 200 applications within an hour.
Love the content. This is definitely the way to go to get better in Cloud Technology. It is a bit misleading however to say they can get into it JUST with the right mindset, as you did have experience as Tech Consultant. So everyone's mileage may vary and should go for it despite whatever individual challenges they may face

When I completed IT School in 2009, (after working in IT, as a hobby since 1999), I studied closed to 8 hours a day, (4 in the morning and 4 in the evening), for Windows 7 and Window 2008 Server exams, in just 2 years, I was Certified as a Window 7 Desktop Support Administrator and MCSA in 2008/2012. Unfortunately, I was stuck in a Help Desk Support Position and all that was a waste of time at the agency I was working at. I am considering Cloud Infrastructure as new field, as I am currently unemployed.
A help desk position can even scale to Level 3 support. Try to look for Level 2 support role first cause there are not many entry level cloud engineer roles around.

Funny Story, I left that agency position due to the Vaccine Mandate in Nov 2021. Ended up living off savings and returned to school to update my skills, from July 2022 to Dec 2023. Been looking for work since then, I got a job offer from the same agency, but in Records Management, only because the supervisor oversees both Records and IT. But at this point, a job is a job and I get the same pay grade that I had when I left. I will stay for a year, while I sort another area of IT to specialize in.

I recently received a job offer from the same agency that I left as direct hire from HR as directed from my previous supervisor, but in Record Management, (another area he supervises). So, FULL CIRCLE, I only took a 2.5 year vacation, changed job positions and a bit more knowledgeable in IT. I will take the next year to update my security certs and look in to Cloud Infrastructure.
@techwithsoleyman at 1:37 you talk about how if you focused and went from 5am to 8am doing tutorials then from 6pm to midnight doing more after work. I don't deny this is possible but asking for advice as someone who tried to crank out an AZ-104 in 3 weeks how the hell do you not get burned out, any tips or tricks?

Great video Soleyman. I noticed you didn’t mention any traditional cyber security certifications for beginners such as the CompTIA A+, N+, or S+. If the objective is it get a cloud position would you advise skipping these or is this dependant on your experience?
Thank you, this video is focused for general cloud engineer. Getting into cybersecurity/cloud security should definitely work towards those certs and cloud specific security certs. For generic cloud positions i advise doing generic cloud certs first like solutions architect associate then specialise in an area over time
Thanks for this video. Cloud network security is something I have been thinking of for a while now. I did a cybersecurity bootcamp a little under a year ago and have been working hard upskilling and getting certs to no avail here in NZ. This may work if you're already some sort of an engineer and you're transitioning to cloud. But as someone with a cloud computing degree and 8 certs across CompTIA, AWS, and Microsoft, I can tell you first hand it is VERY difficult to get a cloud role right now for entry level.
8 certs is probably the issue, spent too much time on theory and certifications and not enough time on building actual hands on cloud projects.

I think you’ll need an intermediate stage in the language you wanna use. You don’t have to master a language. Just know the basics and a bit more
