So based on the requirements, a Cloud Engineer needs to be a developer, a devops engineer, a networking engineer and a system administrator all in one, and on top of that to study for at least 2-3 certifications from either AWS/Azure/GCP and know the info there by heart? This does not seem very realistic, it's hard to work towards even one of these things. Speaking as a developer myself here.
Network Analyst -> SysAdmin -> IT Manager now trying to make the transition to Cloud Engineer because I'm getting tired of babysitting adults and I need a fully remote role lol
I would suggest for step 6 learn first AWS, second Azure and third GCP. AWS is focused in granularity it would be easier learn azure which is focused on be better than aws and gcp is focused on all in one solutions. I think this order will help you to understand the business, services and how solve customer's challenges.
Simon, thanks for the comprehensive and comprehensible content. I see how a guide like this does not fit into your usual 3 to 4 minute videos. Thanks for taking the effort. I'm sure this is much appreciated by anyone aspiring to become a part of the industry.
Thanks for the great feedback. A topic like this deserves more time, and I hope it will be helpful for anyone looking for a career change into cloud engineering!
Imho this is the most comprehensive video on cloud engineer on youtube so far! I’m a software dev and want to switch to cloud engineer and hands down, I have now a good understanding what to do to become a could engineer. Thank you!
Hi can you help me ? I want to join cloud field.. how do i start please guide me .. i did bachelor in commerce. Now i m interested in cloud .. As i learn that aws certifications help in finding jobs and give you special welcom to get job then other people who did degrees .. Now the question arises that , After bachelor starting aws certification will be enough to get a good post in cloud ... and what is more valuable a software degree or aws certificates
@@arsi112 As usual, it depends. Get the fundamentals and with the aws certifications should be enought. I decided to go for azure, because in my company we use azure... but switching to an other clould provider, should not be an issue, since the concepts applys to every clould. If you follow this steps in the video, you are on the good way.

I don't know whether I want to become like cloud engineering but I want to learn about cloud so is this the same roadmap for those people also. I think you got my point.
Yes i would say 80% of Cloud Engineers are comming from Sysadmin roles. Really a Cloud Engineer is the same thing as a Systems Engineer just as a Cloud Administrator is the same thing as a Systems Administrator. The only difference is you are deploying administering, and maintaining a Cloud Infrastructure opposed to an On-Prem infrastructure.
I’m currently work using lot cloud services and devops and serverless , we use groovy and python scripting how to compelety transition into cloud engineer what to do
Hello, I'm interested in pursuing a career in cloud computing. I lack a background in IT and don't hold a bachelor's degree in the field. Despite this, I'm eager to learn and improve. Could someone please provide guidance on whether it's feasible to secure a job in cloud computing? If so, could you outline a roadmap for me or offer advice?
Hi, I am working as a system administrator and want to start learn AWS today, from where I can start, please recommend videos and training materials or which is better from start.
Is this a valid career path I can take? ICT Apprenticeship - 1st line support technician - 2nd line support technician - junior cloud engineer - cloud engineer
Currently about to graduate with a bachelors in electrical/computer engineer, and have been very interested in network and cloud engineering. Is it possible to land an entry level job with this degree and little networking/cloud knowledge? What are the steps I should take?

Is the transition hard from cyber security degree to cloud engineer? Or other work within cloud? I’m trying to figure out a starting point and I kinda wanna teach my self and not waste money or time in school.
@deadbenttv Cloud has a service called IAM. There is a great organization called ISSA. Look into security policies and specialize in that w all the other information that was shared. You’d be golden
Hi. May I ask why you want to switch from Cybersecurity to Cloud Engineering? I am looking to transition into tech, and those are actually my 2 choices. Im still undecided on which to go for.
In simple terms, DevOps is a way of working that helps organizations develop and deliver software faster, while cloud computing is a way of delivering and using computing resources over the internet.
I’m 38 years old and had a degree in Psychology but never used it when i came to Canada in 2012. After working as a warehouse worker I’m looking to upgrade my career. Do I need to get a 4 year degree course or can i take a 2 year computer course in order to have a stepping stone on becoming a cloud engineer?

If you don't have a passion for coding, unfortunately anything related Cloud, Network or Systems Administration is not for you. I had a a Co-worker that gotten his degree in Networking and wants to move up as a Network admin. I told him, that Networking is becoming more automated using DevOps automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef. You are going to have to know at last Python. He said he hates programming. Well if he hates programming, he will never succeed in the Networking field because it's an essential skill set to have these days. Sysadmins also use Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet etc.

My company is a windows shop and we use Azure.
I would say if your company uses Azure, learn Azure.
Else use AWS or GCP.
I have started learning AWS but i couldn't understand the stuffs. How should I concentrate?
