If someone wants to do this but dont want to buy an oil drain pump it is possible to make one at home with a bottle (stronger the better), a drill,. any type of pump and some tubing.
@Westin Lucca yep I did it myself in about 30minutes, not a car mechanic and not DIY man myself but it worked and I will be doing it myself from now on. Bought 5l Mercedes recommended oil with low ash. And I have around 1.5L left. Well done!
This is for the first generation smart cars with 0.6 and 0.7 litre engines and early diesels with the 0.8 litre engine. The newer cars have drain plugs so you don't have to pump it

2003 Petrol 700cc Smart wat oil to use ?
Thanx!
No problem!
Is there a screw at the bottom to a screw it and run out the oil like all the other cars ?
nope, no drain plug. You must use a pump, electric or by hand like in the video.
Thanks
No problem!
What size filter do you need for a 2002 smart ?
Can you emtpy the oil by just removing the oil filter which is at the bottom of the car?
No it doesn't all come out
Hey mate where about a did you get a pump like that? Having lots of trouble finding one similar

Here's a link to one amzn.to/3h6vr98 hope this helps!
Get a little 12volt pump, Amazon, much easier job
If you put the siphon pump on the floor, then gravity will speed up the siphoning process.
Great tip, thanks!!
you fit the oil filter the other way around...
It's the same both ways tho? Lol
It is the same both ways it doesn't matter what way you put it!!
