Hey man, I've been enjoying this modpack after you told me about it on the discord, it's super sick and something I've thought of trying to make myself, and I was wondering if you had a version of this modpack or would consider making an edited clone that was made for survival (starting at phase 1, blocks are breakable, etc) but the parasites still drop guns and ammo. I tried to tweak it myself but can't get it to work properly.
Yo thanks! I am actually planning on creating a more survival-oriented modpack with this modpack's gunplay in mind, but rather than the parasites directly dropping ammo and weapons, parasites will instead drop materials which you can then turn into new guns. So for a percentage of time you'll be managing your base and machinery, and for the rest of the time you'll be killing parasites. But if you'd prefer something more straightforward like this, I'm also planning a nightmare mode. Not only will it be harder, but there will also be new elements which will shake up progression (you only start with a pistol, you will have to earn mobility tools like the ender staff by killing, etc.). I may or may not play around with the idea of gradual phases, but time will tell.
@@BaliB-083 That sounds brilliant, I'm glad it's already something you're looking into. It's just so sad how grindy and unfun most parasite modpacks are, they're so cool and creepy, but they don't have to be a small part of the gameplay loop.
@@dingusbinger Yeah I am looking to avoid the grindy aspects of most parasite modpacks. Granted there will still need to be some level of managing tech (especially during the beginning), but my #1 priority is going to be making the combat engaging. This is going to take a WHILE as my focus is still ultimately on making this modpack better and I'd like to get it to a reasonable state before starting on anything else, but it's for sure a plan for the future.
