I went into the comment section of his video in the hopes of finding someone calling him out, and then immediately realized that doing so was a mistake. It's really just more of the same down there.
I love Gerg, but this video feels like he's jumping on the bandwagon of hating on sipover's video and painting it as some video that has no redeemable qualities. It's all-around just kind of a weird switch from content for him (not saying he can't do other type of content but it definitely comes off as him trying to get traction by creating unnecessary drama)
This whole “drama” from their end feels so artificial and forced, like literally anyone employed would not give two shits how someone plays a video game from 2009 Probably best to just ignore them, it’s already so one sided Btw great mod pack I got it working Just I feel like copper tools are a little op having fortune and diamond tools should probably get it instead
He hates the older versions just as much as the newer versions. Any review he's made for any of the updates is just him spewing the same bull. Personally, I feel that Mojang as a studio treats their employes like actual people compared to other studios. Sometimes from studios like Bethesda, you might hear stories of their employees working long nights to finish a project. Compare this to Mojang as a studio, or even Valve.
3:05 Funny that he's talking about failing to do research and he doesn't even know that the steak texture from beta 1.8 used to be the cooked porkchop texture in previous versions. He also thinks Sipover is playing on beta 1.8 even though there's no hunger bar.
i don't think old minecraft is better than the new one, that doesn't mean i need to disrespect or yell at people because they don't enjoy new minecraft, because at the end of the day we all are playing the same game.
i dont think you should take it seriously he literally plays a character and its in character to be unhinged, it's literally in his status and description Most of what he is saying is that the game isn't worse in its modern form than the beta (TO EVERYONE) how sipover claims it to be Yeah it lacks of many core features that made the game hard because it's more advanced with many major changes to keep it fresh, not everyone wants to constantly walk millions of blocks away for thousands of hours to get a bamboo or have to walk with 10 slots of your inventory filled with single porkchops, they want an easier game where they can express their creativity rather than find challenge, in which you can again, go to beta, which you can grind and it might feel rewarding, but some people don't have time for that and just want to play some adventure with many modern features, things to explore and things to conquer, not explore the abbys of nature which is unchanging and constant Having too many choices isn't an issue you can quite literally use the blocks that was in the game that hasn't been taken away, you can quite literally have same amount of limitations as beta if you just want to Gerg is just talking about sipover and people like him who see it through the lense the way he does, not the way you do, he didn't generalize the group who likes beta, only those who are uncreative and can't bring themselves and get no other ideas in modern mc than to just beat the dragon, and get the best armor and totems of undying so they won't die, ofcourse it's not fun, you're doing the speedrun optimal progression, not play with iron armor for a month or two to get ready to find diamonds and prepare to find the dragon while you're doing your own thing on the side just how you would in beta He did it for a video because he thought it would be entertaining, and to show how dumb their arguments sound without them properly explaining stuff like immersive simplicity, that frankly is hard to understand if you don't give examples or meaning to it, leaving it up to interpretation The research bit where he messes up the version of the beta is kind of meh on his part indeed, but it falls flat with many of his examples, like surviving the night, and both of them forgetting skeletons exist and even if you outrun them many more spawn and shoot you even if you run, making it almost as hard to survive as it was before, plus agile spiders anyway i'm bored
Those are fair arguments! Nice to see a different perspective on this topic. Although I do have some stuff to point out. - The character that he plays personally insulted Sipover multiple times and claimed that Sipover was a sympathizer for a domestic abuser (Not once does Sipover say anything of this sort; he only shows some of SkyDoesMinecraft's content to exemplify old MCYT). Whether or not any of us agree with Sipover's video (which I don't, and I don't think the majority of people do, even people in the Golden Age community), it does not warrant insults. Insult the content, not the person behind it. This is what people like AVGN, who also play a character, do well; AVGN is BRUTAL with the games he covers, but (unless I'm missing something) he's not once ever insulted the people behind the games. - Yes, I 100% think your stance on Modern vs. Beta is valid. Even if I actually prefer the creative options present in Modern over Beta, I can still understand how some Beta players prefer the limited block palette, and I've even made a lot of builds using it (which was very fun). And due to the lighting and texture changes in modern (which granted, the texture changes is an easy fix, but not the lighting without mods), the limited block palette doesn't look nearly as good in Modern settings than Beta. Overall, it wasn't the substance of Gerg's arguments (for the most part) that I took issue with, because I agreed with most of it; it was the manner in which he carried it out. - To play devil's advocate with those who tunnel-vision on beating the Ender Dragon in Modern, people can and will optimize the fun out of their game if the option presents itself. I've found that when I play modern, I feel as if I'm not tapping into everything the game is offering to me by opting not to enchant my gear or go to the End, even though those options aren't necessarily fun. When I play Beta, since those options don't exist, I never feel pressured to get "max" gear or "beat" the game. Not to say that the stance of, "Then don't enchant your gear/don't go to the end" isn't valid; it 100% is. That's just how I feel about it, and that's how I'd assume most people who have that mindset also feel about it, but of course I can't speak for everyone. - And yes, I agree that Sipover's examples do NOT do him any favors, which Gerg does point out. Sipover chose the scenario of an open field to represent a modern vs beta problem... when in both, you can very very easily outpace the horde of zombies. On the topic of mobs, even with some of the buffs they received, it is still far easier to run past all of them in modern than it is in beta. In modern, the world gen is on average flatter, it is much easier to see in the dark (thus you know where not to run), and none of the mobs received any form of speed boost to cater to sprinting (with the exception of skeletons which strafe, but even then it's not enough). I have been able to survive several nights in modern by doing nothing but running around a plains biome and eating steak, which is something I could NEVER do in Beta. Now, where I'd actually say Modern is harder is in tight spaces such as caves. Skeletons strafe and are MUCH more accurate, Creepers are less lenient on explosions if you're further away, and it's harder to deal with hordes due to the timed swinging combat. I very highly appreciate that although we fundamentally disagree on this, you're able to share your points without being aggressive about it.
@@BaliB-083 @BaliB-083 of course, I don't particularly have that much interest in going over every argument he has made (I'm not his mom), just those I understand why the point was made n he said stuff he said that might come off as rude but again it's really a character and he doesn't really mind, no hard feelings and you're coming from a place of reason and good intentions, that's very good, and the abuser part was indeed a bit rough, and the difference in play style which isn't a problem, but again, as you said, mods tend to enhance the gaming experience and make the game interesting in ways mojang can't fix, style wise, textures, shaders, etc. (Although you CAN put textures on fast and honestly it really is a lot like beta lighting, as well as making the light level "moody" While people do say just play beta, obviously there aren't copper, or new mobs, but people see stuff like "overcrowded" as a thing that also contradicts it, but adding small additions on the side that don't impact the gameplay doesn't really change the game in a massive way, side progression and all that, and while you do feel pressured not to enchant your gear, for me, I like the laid back approach, build a base, a cool mineshaft, trade with villagers a bit, but their loot are unfair most of the time so I don't bother much with it, and then just do what I can to progress if i want to, or just explore the world around me, or actually just build and decorate my base so it looks nice, for fun, I can enchant, but there isn't really any threat more than skeletons n zombies occasionally, I just try to make things with stuff that I have, and yeah it is easier to survive with just running around in plains, but again, I usually do see more hill like formations, or mountains, rivers, and oceans which spice it up But then again you can just dig a 3 block hole and cover it up, just like in beta, just like in modern mc
