    Format is great, I wouldn't mind it being a few seconds slower, not to explain values because that's pointless, but more so reason. whats the thinking behind the setup? "then we want to adjust temperature, so we make a point wrangle and create the attribs" "we need to transfer the velocity so create point vop etc" right now this is nice to get a quick overview of setup approach if you already know how to handle pyro in houdini. if you have no idea, this format will never be for those people, and that's fine. It's the people in the middle im trying to adjust for, the people who knows what things do, but maybe have a harder time coming up a reason or solution themselves yet. So often it's fairly easy to understand what you are doing and how to do it, but really hard to think of why you would do it like that in the first place unless you have seen it before. anyway keep it up

    100% love this type of tutorials!
    Right on point, super quickly and you get to the end result as expected.
    Finding what each/every button does can googled, no need to explain each and every single thing. Or just can be found on TH-cam. But we definitely need more start-to-end projects like this. And then people can play with buttons by themselves.
    EXCEPT the coding part. That is one place where I think it's is better to explain what's the purpose of the expression and what it does (and how). Just copy-pasting is not really... helpful IMHO.
    But the rest was very clear and very nice. Thank you very much for sharing!

    Where are u getting your velocity attribute from. It suddenly appears in the geometry spreadsheet (2:43) without you changing anything? Sorry if I just didn't see it, but I rewatched it now 5 times and couldn't find it

    • @arvidurs
      @arvidurs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup! So the velocity is coming from the particles. You create the fuel particle source, and after the simulation it will have calculated the velocities and add them to the spreadsheet.

  • @ChrisCousins
    @ChrisCousins 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great stuff, like the rapid pace and simple setup. One thing, at 2:41 you mention piping the noise output into the Normal and velocity, but you only show it going into the N, which could be confusing unless you're listening carefully! Also it goes a bit too fast around 4:45, some of the settings I had to advance frame-by-frame to see.

    • @arvidurs
      @arvidurs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1
