Another idea for the front strap is to add a snap loop to fasten the front and back straps together. My favorite expensive travel backpack has this and I love it - allows for carrying and feels more secure. ❤

Regarding the floppy front handle, if you leave the slip pocket behind the zipper pocket, you could just tuck that handle inside when wearing it as a backpack. GREAT pattern and tutorial!

With regards to the bulk in the front pocket, Jo from Country Cow has a technique on her recent Ojyma bag release that folds the lining and the outer in different directions so that the folds nest rather than overlap. Thought that might be helpful for this bag too as you still get a concertina in both outer and lining but less bulk. Love the wine and grey corks in this together 🙂

Just watching this new video and something popped into my head! POP!! You had been mentioning how the front handle "flapped" when it was used as a backpack. Noticed that when you were stitching it in place, you did a small 1" square. If you were to have stitched it longer up the strap or incorporated your favorite rivets, that would prevent it from "flapping". Right? Yet still give you that super cute look!! Okay, back to the video!! LOL!!

I have the stuff a month or so ago but have been soo busy. Glad I’m watching your makes! I have a similar store-bought mini and I was JUST thinking about foregoing the front handle on my make. I think it gets in the way for the zip 😂
To keep the strappy front look, I think I’ll be adding webbing that doesn’t pass the top edge of the bag. BUT mine is using a blue and white pokemon print fabric with blue webbing so we’ll see! 😅 I think in your bag a faux front handle would look good.

When you use Tex 40 or Tex 35 thread do you use the same weight thread in Bobbin? If so, do I need to adjust tension on Bobbin case?
