Julianne Moore has impeccable taste and could she look any better at 63? Wow. And kudos to Natalie Portman for putting The Piano Teacher up there, its a masterpiece!
After watching the movie, it makes perfect sense that Charles Melton loves Brokeback Mountain. There's a lot of Heath Ledgers performance in his during this movie.
I feel like most people's "formative cinema" comes from the age of 13-19 where they find what moves them and it sticks with them forever. Some swaps will come later but those special picks stick. Seeing Gabriel Chung say, "Revenge of the Sith" is the perfect example of a generational gap between Millennials and Gen Z. God bless that honest choice.
Not true at all. 13-19 is a very young age where you wont be able to distinguish real art. Most movies are not art and most people are stupid as fuck so you are right practically.
Yes and no. I think your theory applies to music tastes perfectly. The bands I loved as a teenager I still love today. With movies (and books) however my tastes have matured considerably. My teenage self would’ve hated IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE and DAYS OF HEAVEN and BARRY LYNDON, for example. Way too sophisticated for my little brain.
this is totally clear to me with my 5 favorite albums of all time, they are almost all from 1995, I was 14 and got into them when I was 16. are they THE GREATEST PEICES OF MUSIC EVER? well, yes of course
I want to remind some people from the comments that favourite movies don't have to be universally acclaimed, it's THEIR favourites! also it's much nicer to hear about something funny and truthful then the same old (sometimes pretentious) classics
Ya but like SM2, 2049, Scott pilgrim and ROTS…like come on. It just shows such a lack of love of film as a medium and how uneducated someone is to have 3 Hollywood blockbusters and a very popular American cult classic.

This video makes me feel old and good at the same time. It's interesting to see a very young person say "recent" movies have meaning. I think everybody who is that age says the same. They have time to change and add other movies, which is good for them. Don't be cruel, people. Just enjoy cinema.

Lol, I definitely agree. I don't want to sound like a cinema snob, but the exposure to good films by some of the younger generation is quite surprising. With the Advent of streaming and services like Criterion channel, the youth should spend less time on tik Tok and a little more watching great films. I'm still reeling from the "Scott Pilgrim" choice.
Julianne Moore is easily one of the top three most beautiful women alive, and her choices are good. Portman's choice of The Piano Teacher is a good one, but that film is emotionally brutal. My four would be 1. Citizen Kane 2. Wings of Desire 3. The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover 4. Clue (it's not high art, but I have seen it 50 times and could watch it another 50 times).
It’s probably the absolute worst top 4 he could have picked. It’s almost repulsing that someone like that can become an actor. I mean it’s frankly embarrassing to have that top 4
There are many good movies that are hard to re-watch, because they hinge on a twist or big spectacle. Great one time watch but fail at other things. Which is why these are really great: Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust Eyes Wide Shut The Seven Samurai Amadeus Disney's Pinocchio Silent Hill If we ignore importance of being able to re-watch the movies, then these stand out: The Passion of the Christ Prometheus Gladiator The Ring Once Were Warriors Best directors, Stanley Kubrick, Akira Kurosawa, Ridley Scott.
