Nothing pretentious about Letter Never Sent. The comments on these have gotten so bad that people are afraid to mention an amazing movie in fear of being called pretentious just because it's foreign.
Excellent choices for everyone!!😉 But Anne Hathaway who concludes with Frank Capra's It Happened One Night? wow what a wonderful film, an absolute masterpiece!🤩🤩
@@spongesa27 who is y’all, I love the niche picks. I love esoteric, idiosyncratic, niche picks. I only get a little annoyed when they are like back to the future and Godfather. Show me the suace, show me shit I’ve never heard of
I've loved Anne Hathaway for years (Not in my top 4 but definitely in my top 10 is Rachel Getting Married). And the fact that she said It Happened One Night just made me love her even more.
Letter Never Sent is an incredible film starring the amazingly captivating Tatyana Samojlova from the also brilliant Russian film 'The Cranes Are Flying.' I am not sure why the gentleman thinks his choice might be considered pretentious. Not all all. It shows he has exquisite taste and knowledge of some lesser known masterpieces of film. I adored that film.
Who's the actress who picked black swan, daisies??? I'm not familiar with her, but i dig her style, looks, and sense of humor! Gives me a bit if Margot Qualley vibes! (I can't ever remember how to correctly spell QUALLEY'S full name)
I Love Black Swan, Natlie Portman is phenomenal in it but I Still prefer Perfect Blue over it for same with Inception I love it but Prefer Paparika over it, It's more dark, fantasy and dreamy-like!
If i were anne hathaway, I'd honestly choose les miserables bc its a really great movie and she's great in it, unless she's like johnny depp, jared leto where she cannot bare to watch herself in a movie! Or doesnt want to come across as conceited! But I'd give her or anyone else mad props if they chose a movie that they happened to be in 🤔😇🤗😎😋😁
I will fight this man on the claim that Shrek 2 is the greatest animated film ever. It's funny, I'll give you that, but the original How To Train Your Dragon exists and is a masterpiece of storytelling, animation, and is also funny without relying on a fart/poop/burp/snot joke every two minutes. Square up, Nicholas, let's go! 😂 (this is light hearted btw, just to be clear)
Memories of Murder mentioned
love that movie

Shrek 2. Respect.
Love Shrek 2 I just rewatch it. One of my all time favorite sequels. It's been awhile since I seen it; it holds up
wow i could listen to anne hathaway talk about moonstruck forever :")

It's either that or they're afraid to pick non-artsy films. People are very judgmental on LetterBoxd
@@robinh4 so there's mass paranoia among letterboxd users for picking any movie in general as their favorite unless it's 'ironic' ...fuck social media

I totally agree with that, I'm not an expert on Soviet cinema, but the few films I saw were absolutely insane ❤
Anne Hathaway has AMAZING taste. Actuallly, everyone here has great picks.
My guy choosing both Letter Never Sent and Pickpocket! Solid choices!
Annie's top is outstanding
I mean Dancer in the Dark??? Iconic
No one's gonna talk about The Mission?? That's an incredible movie, elevated by Morricone's score
The cinematography is brilliant & that score is one of the greatest.
Anne Hathaway picking Dancer in the dark as one of her favourites films... Okay, I love her even more 🥹💜
bend it like beckham is SO BASED
Waited for someone to put Moonstruck up there for so long
Anne just earned my utmost respect for "Dancer in the Dark"
Same when someone chooses Lars Von Trier Movie.
yes, same! love this movie!
For real
I would've never expected that one
It's so underrated, and so is Bjork's performance in it, just breathtaking
I watched The Royal Tenenbaums the other day, and yes, I was reminded again how good it was ♥️
Nicholas' choices are truly incredible
Excellent choices for everyone!!😉
But Anne Hathaway who concludes with Frank Capra's It Happened One Night? wow what a wonderful film, an absolute masterpiece!🤩🤩

I love that someone would worry about sounding pretentious after picking Bresson 2 picks prior.
Love what you love king!
Yeah cuz y'all bully them for their "pretentious" taste that they don't feel confident in saying so, it's not lovely

Love Crossing Delancey (1988). Amy Irving is such an underrated actress.

Bangers all around.
i just love Nick so much😆
Nothing could tell me how far Annie's love of film goes,
more than her choosing It Happened One Night
Anne looks gorgeous as usual ❤
It Happened One Night is great, a pioneer of romantic comedies.
The Royal Tenenbaums is Wes Anderson's best movie
Shoutout Daisies, love that film
Moonstruck 🤩🤩
Ah yes Boomerang! One of Eddie Murphy's most underrated movies
My four favorites:
1. The Shawshank Redemption
2. The Fellowship of the Ring
3. Back to the Future
4. The Butterfly Effect
Letter Never Sent is a masterpiece. Do yourself a favor and watch it.
Yessss bend it like beckham is honestly the greatest film of all time

ALL THAT JAZZZZZZZZ
Damn Anne! Never would've thought she had good taste!
Did not expect Letter never sent, but it's a brilliant choice
I love What Happened One Night
Memories of Murder, memento, and Shrek 2, this guy has taste
momento and shrek 2? this guy's is going places
How can Michael Showalter not pick The Baxter in his fave romcoms? That film is severely underrated, it's hilarious!
I was so hoping that Anne would choose "be my cat" as Nº4
I want an actor to come on here and name their own movies...ha ha
100% agree about Shrek 2!
One of the best animated movies, and definitely better than the first part 🏆
Just imagine calling bend it like beckham one of your four favorite movies of ALL TIME!!
black swan girl is the G. and nick putting into the wild and memento got all the points for me.
Anne Hathaway😍🥰
about time u drop the video its been a month
Oh look. Another "All That Jazz!" I smell a conspiracy here.

NICHOLAS HAS THE SAME TOP TWO AS ME WHAT THE HELL
Yes, the fourth one is always the killer.
At first I read it as the fourth is always The Killer by John Woo 😆
But never The Killer by David Fincher?
Oh nicholas like mystery murder kinda genres
❤daisies!!!
this isnt final but home alone, bad boys, sandlot and goodfellas 😮
Ella Rubin I was not familiar with your game
For real! Daisies let's her pick whatever she wants for the other three.
SHREK 2 MENTION

HTTYD's story is pretty standard and the characters aren't very likeable. I'd take shrek 2 over it anyday.
I genuinely don't think she meant it this way, but 'you guys are like celebrities to me' sounds like such a back-handed compliment.
