I create about 9 outfits every Sunday for the next week. This feels like selfcare for me. I then decide in the morning spontaneously which of the 9 outfits I feel like wearing. That’s why I create more than I need. This way all my clothes get used and I have relaxed mornings. Love it!

Hi! I love your content. I'm a teacher and plan my outfits ever week. It really does make the morning very easy. Since watching your videos, I have decluttered/curated my wardrobe and purchased a clothing rail to hang my outfits, which makes me feel really chic...lol. My recommendation would be to be flexible with the outfits that you choose each day. For example, wear your Wednesday outfit on Thursday instead. Having that flexibility allows you to accommodate for changes in weather or your schedule. Thank you for your videos!!

I plan my work outfits 3 days a week. Wednesday is my office day and the day I can dress nicer and wear heels. Thursday and Friday I have to go to peoples homes and possibly crawl around on the floor to weigh and measure new babies plus out in weather so jeans and layers. It’s cold in my house 5:30 am so I grab my clothes and head to the bathroom where it is much warmer to get dressed. Then the 4 days I’m not working I allow myself to be spontaneous

I started doing this several months ago because it takes me too long to pick out an outfit in the morning and I noticed I was reaching for the same things. It takes me anywhere from 30 mins to an hour. I start with a theme or color palette that I want to "showcase". I have two jobs that require different styling (office and light industrial warehouse). I love it. I am more creative with my style, utilizing more of my clothes and save so much time in the week. I've shared this with others at my day job and they too have started doing it. I find it fun and efficient.

Love how you compared this process right away to planning meals for the week - I absolutely gain so much time, clarity, and ease through the week after putting in the time to plan the week’s dinners, and I’m seeing how it could be the same for outfits. Plus it gets you excited to wear what’s on the rack to come!

I often prepare my outfits for the next day. especially when I have to be in office. this saves a lot of time and I don't grab always the same sweater because it's so cold outside the cozy bed. I will definitely try to plan my outfits for the whole week. nice video❤

I kind of do this (roughly) and it has halped me to actually wear the clothes I want and like. Can anyone relate to not wearing your favourite clothes in order to 'spare' them? 🙈 Well, this was me. Now that I allow myself to wear my nicer clothes it really enhances my mood and productivity for the day. The planning kind of forces me to do it. 😊

While it might reduce spontaneity on the days you have the outfits planned, I think it increases spontaneity overall. You're taking the time to put outfits together and maybe trying new combinations, and then in future when you're rushing to get ready, you might put together pieces you wouldn't normally because of the times you planned outfits, rather than going for your usual go-to outfits.

Glad you enjoyed planning your outfits for the week. I decide every evening what I want to wear the following day. Also never forget that you can always change your mind… Just like you decided to rewear that top you can always decide switch things up if you realise you don’t like the outfit as much as you thought. For the outfit on Wednesday you could have decided that you didn’t like the top and switch it with something else completely or pick the top from previous days or the following day… Same with the bottom… No one but you knew what you intended to wear and no one will care…

I have a method that has been helping me achieve a happy medium between planning and spontaneity. I do a mini capsule for each week on Sunday night. I try to add in items I haven’t worn as much.
Then in the mornings I put together a combination of the tops, bottoms and layering pieces. Sometimes I’ll pull an item that’s not in my mini capsule to complete an outfit, but mainly I stick to what I’ve pulled for the week.
I find this way I spend less time selecting an outfit each morning and I still get to decide what I wear each day without being bound to a specific outfit.

I've been doing this for years, on Saturdays or Sundays I plan my weekly outfits base on the weather mostly and free so much time in my mornings, Is great exercise like you said because gives me time to figure out different ways to style my pieces and see if I like it or not. I used to hate wasting time deciding at the last minute what to wear. I highly recommend it.

I have a hybrid work schedule and currently work 3 days a week in the office, so I usually plan my outfits for the week before my 1st office day and it's been a real game changer for the past year. I have time to choose more thought outfit combinations according to the weather prognosis while making use of my more "flamboyant" clothes, and also save some more comfortable outfits for when I don't really feel like being all decked out as extras. That way I don't have to think about what I'm going to wear at 5am and have everything ready to go after the morning shower (and it helps to know which underwear to choose for the following day so that I'm not restricted in that matter either 😁)

Love your simple put together look. The only bottoms I don’t wear when I’m home are jeans. They feel too constricted for me. I’m trying to build my stay at home wardrobe around comfy casual pants that I can still feel good in if I have to run out the door. Unfortunately, many of them stretch out at the knees or look baggy after a few hours.

I used to do this! I'm not sure why I quit. At one point I challenged myself to make outfits out of EVERYTHING I owned, just to see how many days in a row I could wear clothes that weren't repeated. I think it was like 28 days or something. I also didn't make myself wear "the next outfit" in line just because it was the next outfit; if it was "an" outfit, I could wear it the day I wanted to wear it. Saved time, saved worrying about what I was going to wear, helped me plan ahead, and if something needed a little repair or steaming, I was on it before "the day of." Really removed the needless drama of looking in the clothes closet and having to leave for work five minutes later.

I’ve done this every week for years, since I just can’t function first thing in the morning. I usually pick out one outfit for every workday, plus one because inevitably there will be one outfit that I just don’t want to wear. This has really helped me to understand what I like, rotate through my closet, and analyze why some outfits or items just don’t feel right for me.

Sunday evening is such a perfect timing for this video!❤ I've been meaning to do such a weekly plan for a couple of months now. What I've been using instead was just a list of looks I'd like to try. It was nice but, since it's not bound to any specific days, more often than not I'd just grab the same go-to items, and leave the designated looks for a 'more special' day (maybe once or twice a week). Still helped to bring variety and creativeness back into my appearance, but this approach lacks the pro of saving time in the morning and still feeling put together.
I'd definitely try to extend the outfit planning to particular days (5 in a row! Wow!)
Dreaming of a clothing rack to put these looks together in advance 😍
Another idea I have is to choose one piece and style it with 5 different combinations for the whole week 😊

I am so impressed that you dress up even working from home! I need to do that. At the moment I have ~special~ lounge clothes or what I call at home clothes that I change into once I get home like a matching lounge set but often feel weird if a friend pops in. A bit nicer than my sleepwear (band shirt and leggings) but not as nice as denim!

During my career, I did put out my complete outfit in the evening for the next work day, it really helped. I spent a few hours over each weekend washing, ironing, etc., so everything would be ready to wear. I still never put anything in my closet that isn’t 100% ready to wear, I leave them in my laundry area until I can get to them. I do have a small separate rack of items worn once or twice that can be worn again before needing anything. I don’t wash my clothes as often as I used to. They didn’t really need it and they wore out quickly. My grandmother convinced my Mom and I that washing everything after an hour or half-day of wearing it was a bad idea, she was right. I can usually wear items three times unless I get a spot, or exercise in them. I never tried planning a week of outfits, except for travel.

I like to look at my closet and try to pull together outfits with my less, or even not-yet worn, new items. I tend to forget what’s in my huge wardrobe, especially as it isn’t all in one place, I only have a tiny, narrow closet and two garment racks. If I discover something is not worn for a reason, nearly always related to comfort, I remove it altogether. Like a new sweater I only got a few months ago. When I wore it, I realized the sleeves felt too tight over my silk base layer, so it’s in my donate/sell pile; cute or not, new or not. Not every garment is a success, it’s better to evaluate why one hasn’t worn it and pass it on sooner than let it take up space and go out of style, or get moth-eaten. These only make me feel guilty for making a bad purchase when I see them.

For my work outfits, I put out underwear, jewelry, everything needed, along with the clothes. I had to wear pumps for the office, but my bus commute included a mile-long walk to/from the bus stop at each end, over dirt, broken concrete and rubble, so I left my pumps at the office. Like most other women, I had commute boots and sneakers to wear for the actual commute. (We all took public transportation into San Francisco to work, it’s not very driveable and parking is not available). We got so much criticism from men for not commuting in our heeled pumps, “you try it! you always wear flat, roomy-toed shoes, what do you know”? I said. I never needed more than three pairs of pumps to go with my work wardrobe. Even though I would never wear higher than 2.5-inch heels, they were torture, all then had pointed toes, it took almost a decade for the bunions to be reabsorbed by my body after retirement.

Planning my outfits for the week was extremely helpful and definitely saved me time getting out the door. The upside of doing this is that I consciously rotated through my wardrobe and saved wear and tear on my clothes. The downside is that I fell back on formulas which started to feel like style ruts after about 2 months. I will still plan out my outfits when life gets stressful, somehow its even more important to me in those times to feel put together.
