Plastic re branded as vegan is crazy.

Its always been that way though. And the vegans really get made when you wear leather but its BETTER for the environment compared to plastic (production wise and end of life-wise). 2nd hand leather is always best if possible

The purpose of those sleeveless sweaters is actually for wearing under blazers for work! wearing a full sweater under a blazer can be too bulky and too hot especially once you're inside with heating

    • @VBoo459

Idk about the use of the word "purpose" here however yes, thats a WAY you CAN wear it. But a lot of people like sleeveless sweaters and do not like blazers at all. Myself included.

I've been avoiding footwear where the sole doesn't extend beyond the toe-tip for years now, and you're the first influence I've ever seen point out the issue with that type of sole! I once had a gorgeous pair of suede booties with really minimalist soles. They felt like slippers on my feet, but they wore out eventually because I wore _actual holes_ in the toe tips from how much they scuffed against things!

Love your channel!! I think trench coats are a great transition piece in the San Francisco Bay Area. We have milder winters and fall has little rain. I have a cropped trench and I just ordered the wool / drape-y trench from Goelia. This drape looks good on many body types and is less boxy- and has a belt which I think gives more options. I also like the Lillysilk trench. I think either of those would be better suited to your body type than the Sezanne - I’m surprised You haven’t tried either of those warmer, higher quality nice drape/belted trenches. They are warmer and more elegant than the Sezanne version. ❤

I LOVE extreme details (not fringes, but yes embellishments) however I find it annoying that most times these embellished items are on jumpers that are made from acrylic and polyester. I also love sleeveless jumpers...however they are all impractical like you said. I really like a boatneck, it suits my narrow shoulders, however I will buy a quality fitted piece, like you say, bulky with a big sleeve doesn't work on me either. I have found that they keep their shape just fine. I am noticing more feminine details on tops now, I do like them and I can recognise a delicate piece over a trendy piece. If it reminds of the 80s or 90s then I pass haha. Thanks so much for the boots/sole tip, I learned a lot there.

I have a Naadam cashmere hoodie with bell sleeves that I ADORE but it's a pain to have to roll up the sleeves carefully for when I wash my hands or the dishes. Since there isn't a defined hem I can't just scrunch the sleeves up my arm. I finally took it to a tailor to shorten the sleeves and it's much easier to wear now. Also I can't believe Jcrew would charge that much for a sweater with no pretty detailing!

You always hit the nail on the head ☺️ considered purchases, knowing what suits you, consider your lifestyle. I think you mentioned a raincoat at the beginning. I can recommend a french brand called Aigle. I use it all year round (it's not a trench) In the UK we need this. Plenty of room for layering size up. Great if you are petite. Has a removable button up hood for rain and wind, big pockets. It's the one I use year round, mine is in a neutral colour. Useful for travel. Not an advert 😊.

Always right on, Helen. I also came to the same conclusions about the Clyde trench, I have an hourglass frame, and it just didn't work for me, and apart from the dark green color is very "fall," Sezane trenches have a major flaw for me because they don't come with a removable hood. For me, the function of a trench is to protect you enough for the transitional periods that usually come along with seasonal rain. Living in the Netherlands, where it's rainy most of the time, it's not functional or versatile enough to justify the purchase.

I personally wouldn’t accept any in knitwear. It’s truly not necessary in most cases. (although I’ve heard mohair sometimes requires it to keep the hairs together?) I personally only allow small amounts of elastane. Less than 10% in cotton tee shirts, 2% in jeans. That’s just my rule, something else might work for you!
If you’re looking for cost effective composition, a lot of places will have 95% cotton/5% cashmere sweaters that aren’t craaazy expensive.

As a vegan I don’t buy wool, leather, silk, suede or fur. But I don’t buy acrylic or polyester either. I buy faux leather shoes - it’s great being able to wash them under the tap! But most of my clothes are fine vintage cotton. Lawn cotton and lisle were very much like silk. I try to buy everything secondhand for ethical reasons, but I get organic cotton undies at Pact. I’m saying all these because it would be nice if you remembered that some of us don’t want those ‘natural’ fibres that cause suffering and death.
