    Hi from New Zealand. You are a wonderful human being. Just saying. We have summer coming and I can see all of these going down a treat while a chunk of meat cooks away on the barbie. Cold beer will help no end. Good luck everyone. Stay healthy, safe and happy.

      current interim result:
      first try with 6 month old manchego but dry rosmarin - was ok.
      second attempt with 3 month old manchego but fresh rosmarin (one brig) - was ok.
      the third try will be 6 month old manchego with at least two sprigs of fresh rosemary. and it will blow my mind.
      i have already realised with my two attempts what is special about this tapas. actually, i hate rosmarin, no matter if dry or fresh, and to dip cheese in jam i thought it was so absurd that i got curious. i am thrilled and will definitely do this more often. with tons of fresh rosemary.

    . . . who will guarantee that the tuna has been speaking Spanish and has been raised in Spain ? Are the mayonnaise, tomatoes, garlic and Baguette also Spanish?

  • @bre181000
    @bre181000 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Okay call me white asf it's cool I know I'm dumb but I have to know. What exactly makes a tapa, a tapa? I've seen so many variations between shapes, flavor profiles, and ingredients. They seem so all over the place. What makes someone just know "these are tapas" (other than being from the culture obviously)

    • @SpainonaFork
      @SpainonaFork  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The only way a dish can be called a tapa, is if the dish comes from Spain :) They are basically Spanish style appetizers, much love

    Eggs and spinach on dry, plain bread??? No thanks Spain.

      I buttered the baguette slices and toasted it on the stove so it is soft. My mother in law has no teeth and can't eat hard stuff. I then added the omlette and add a dollop of ketchup on it.

    • @mustwereallydothis
      @mustwereallydothis ปีที่แล้ว

      @@akankshapatwari4167 Did you use "a generous tablespoon" of butter? Lol
      (I hope I'm not the only one to have noticed that particular habit of his)

    • @akankshapatwari4167
      @akankshapatwari4167 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mustwereallydothis 🤣 He tends to use that. I sometimes rub a piece of garlic on the hot buttered toast . It gives an added zing.

    • @mustwereallydothis
      @mustwereallydothis ปีที่แล้ว

      @@akankshapatwari4167 I often wonder if he doesn't have a clear understanding of what it means to call for a 'generous' tbsp, ¼ cup, or the like.
      For anyone else reading this whose first language isn't English, calling for a 'generous' specific measurement actually means you want people to add that amount plus a little extra. For instance, a generous tablespoon would be a tablespoon of the ingredient that you left rounded and didn't level off with a butter knife or whatever you normally use for the purpose. As you can imagine, it isn't a commonly used system of measurement as it's
      highly imprecise. It would however, be appropriate for toppings like cheese, nuts, bread crumbs etc.

    • @mustwereallydothis
      @mustwereallydothis ปีที่แล้ว

      @@akankshapatwari4167 Yes, I have tried that technique when making garlic bread. It's way easier and works great, but I somehow always forget about it. I keep going back to the messy process of mashing garlic and salt into a paste and mixing it into the butter.
      Thanks for the reminder.
