👋🏼 Hi friend. Hearing this melody did everything to my soul! And I agree listening to music from back in the day in this new era is like a breath of fresh air. Such raw and beautiful music!💙
I fall in love with Bobby each time I hear him sing. I never heard him sing this one until 2022 and I was 17 in 1965. RIP Bobby Hatfield you are missed.
This song and singer is pure perfection! Nothing u can say can add to or detract from this. Glad your generation is discovering your parents and grandparents HEARTSTRINGS music!
I was 15 yrs old in 1965 when I watched him sing this beautiful song. He had so much raw talent and live with no autotone. His voice was so awesome! No one sang it like he did. He had a cold and his parents were in the audience. He nailed it!!! RIP Bobby!!! ❤❤❤❤

One of the greatest performances of all time. Bobby Hatfield had a beautiful voice. I was a teenager when it came out. Him and Bill Medley made up the Righteous Brothers. You need to do You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling the most listened to song of the 20the century. Also Soul and Inspiration and Rock And Roll Heaven. New subscriber here. Thx

Hi, Dave. I hear you, friend. I will try to refrain from snapping next reaction. It's just I hear something my soul loves and my body reacts. Thanks for the pointer. 👍🏼💙
This song was written for a prison movie titled 'UCHAINED' (1955). It was first sung in the movie by African American opera singer, theatre and film actor Todd Duncan. It was composed by Alex North (1910-1991) and lyrics by Hy Zaret (1907-2007). Since 1955 this song has been sung by recording artist from around the world. Making it one of the most loved, and recorded songs in music history. In 1965 on the 'Andy Williams Show.' Bobby Hatfield of 'The Righteous Brothers' gave one of the greatest live performances in television history. His epic performance cemented his rendition of 'Unchained Melody' as the quintessential version of them all. And ever since 1965 his version is the one every recording artist has used, and uses to this day. The rest as they say is history... Great reaction!.
His beautiful sound was known in the 60's as "blue-eyed soul". His voice draws out emotions now, almost 60 years later, as much as it did then. Your reaction is priceless!!!
Guys, I understand what you guys say about the finger-snapping. Like I mentioned in a few comments I hear something I like and my body reacts!!🙌🏼 So forgive me, I can understand now how it can be annoying but I've listened to you guys and I will not be snapping in future videos! 👍🏼
This performance was live on the Andy Williams show. Bobby's voice is from the heavens above. THIS WAS SHEER PERFECTION. Many fell in love to this song and with him. Many before him and after him have done this song but no one will ever do this song like Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Bros He owns this song. ALSO if you ever saw the movie Ghost this song by him was in it.Sheer magic

Hey beautiful, you look gorgeous as always. I am not familiar with Righteous Brothers but this song is a classic. You have a really nice voice and I love hearing you sing along. His voice is amazing and it did seem effortless :) He is handsome too :) Great reaction video and FW. Have a great day.
The last few high notes Bobby hits in this live performance are not sung on the studio record version. This live version is actually better than the studio version. That makes his live performance even more rare because with most singers their live performance is not as good as the studio version.
This live performance by Bobby Hatfield is an embellished version of the studio recording. His splendid falsetto tag here is not on the record. You hardly ever hear a song sung live that outshines the record. They don't make 'em like they used to.
There was NO Falsetto, not even one note, sung by Bobby in this song. He had a 4 octave voice range, & as you can clearly see on that last note, he sang it with a level of smoothness that you don't see when someone switches to falsetto.
@@brblanch7 And what 'expert' told you that? He sang that entire extended melisma tag "to me" in a rich falsetto, not just the "last note." You're obviously NOT a singer nor know much about voice. Talk to a knowledgeable vocalist and get hip.
Its so nice to see someone enjoy this beautiful piece of music and Bobby Hatfield wonderful vocals,he had a 5 octave vocal range which is how he was able to reach those high notes effortlessly it came completely natural to him,he did another Righteous Brother solo called Ebb Tide from the era and was considered his signature song, there is a video but no live performance just audio from a studio but its a great song and he is fantastic singing it...you can find it on TH-cam.
THAT was the first time he ever performed it LIVE- and his MOM was in the audience and had never heard him sing live before.....so he was nervous- but you'd never know it..
This is a great song, was featured in the movie Ghost, and peaked at #4 in the US in 1965. But to me, if you are new to the Righteous Brothers, your first reaction needs to be You've Lost That Loving Feeling. First, it features both members of the duo (Unchained Melody is a solo for Bobby Hatfield), the harmonies produced by Hatfield's high tenor voice and Bill Medley's deep baritone are legendary. Second, it was featured in the movie Top Gun and the TV show Cheers (the running gag was that if you wanted to get Rebecca, the character played by Kirstie Alley, in bed, all you had to do was play/sing a few bars from Loving Feeling and she just melted!). And third, it was THE most played song on American radio and television in the 20th century. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/uOnYY9Mw2Fg/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for correcting me you're so right, this is a solo with Bobby Hatfield. And I'm guessing that's the reason I remember or know a bit of the lyrics. I remember watching Ghost as a child too! Also, thank you for sharing the link. I will save the video for an upcoming reaction. 💙💙💙💙 Thank you for stopping by! 😘
@@PoquitoFlava Even though it is a solo, it is still credited as a Righteous Brothers song (Hatfield and Medley often had one solo each per album). And they actually flipped a coin to see who would get the solo for Unchained Melody!

HI POQUITO, AS AN ALPHA MALE, I WAS MOVED BY BOBBY' HATFIELD'S VERSION. THE RIGHTEOUS BROS WRE BOBBY HATFIELD AND BILL MEDLEY (UNRELATED) BILL WAS BETTER SUITED TO THE LOWER REIGISTER WHILE BOBBY HAD A GREATER VOCAL RANGE. I HAVE HEARD MANY OTHER VERSIONS OF THIS SONG, BUT BOBBYS VERSION IS THE BEST IN MY VIEW THE VOICE WAS SOFT, BEAUTIFUL, SOUL GRABBING AND ROMANTIC. ALL THE GIRLS THAT HAVE SEEN THIS VIDEO WERE 'TOUCHED' BY HIS VOICE IN THAT 'DREAMY' WAY SADLY WE LOST BOBBY IN THE EARLY 2000+, BECAUSE HE HAD A TRULY GOOD VOICE AND 'MOVIE STAR' LOOKS. SADLY , WE DO NOT HAVE GUYS LIKE THIS, OR RATHER VERY FEW. I LOVED YOUR REACTION AND YOUR HONESTY FOR SAYING THAT YOU COULD FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM IF YOU WERE AROUND AT THAT TIME. You really need to check out Bobby's other solos--all on You Tube. He sang "Only You", "My Prayer", originally sung by Tony Williams & The Platters a terrific group from the 50's. Just search for Bobby Hatfield solos and they will pop up. His unique style is magical and worth a look. You will be glad you did. Cathy Farrell
Amen. Watched a "Reaction" video a week or so ago and the woman doing it thought she could sing along with him. Actually, she couldn't sing along with herself and most of the comments were justifiably negative.
If you haven’t met Angelina Jordan why not? @@PoquitoFlava Sorry that my comment made me sound like a harsh A-hole. I understand that a great song can "just gets in you". Maybe it was the placement of your mike, but the snapping was too loud. Possibly mute your mike until your ready to speak.
@@AFmedic That's a good idea! I don't have a mic, I just use my phone to record but I will take your advice. Thanks! 💙 And no worries at all! 😘
Bobby Hatfield DCD le 5/10/2003/RIP âgé de 63 ans 😢😢😢😢❤❤❤
HI POQUITO, AS AN ALPHA MALE, I WAS MOVED BY BOBBY' HATFIELD'S VERSION.
THE RIGHTEOUS BROS WRE BOBBY HATFIELD AND BILL MEDLEY (UNRELATED)
BILL WAS BETTER SUITED TO THE LOWER REIGISTER WHILE BOBBY HAD A GREATER VOCAL RANGE.
I HAVE HEARD MANY OTHER VERSIONS OF THIS SONG, BUT BOBBYS VERSION IS THE BEST IN MY VIEW
THE VOICE WAS SOFT, BEAUTIFUL, SOUL GRABBING AND ROMANTIC.
ALL THE GIRLS THAT HAVE SEEN THIS VIDEO WERE 'TOUCHED' BY HIS VOICE IN THAT 'DREAMY' WAY
SADLY WE LOST BOBBY IN THE EARLY 2000+, BECAUSE HE HAD A TRULY GOOD VOICE AND 'MOVIE STAR' LOOKS.
SADLY , WE DO NOT HAVE GUYS LIKE THIS, OR RATHER VERY FEW.
I LOVED YOUR REACTION AND YOUR HONESTY FOR SAYING THAT YOU COULD FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM IF YOU WERE AROUND AT THAT TIME.
I REALLY DO UNDERSTAND YOU > EMILIO > ADELAIDE CITY > AUSTRALIA (COVID FREE)
You need to listen to Lucy Thomas sing Unchained Melody(live 1965) I think you will also like it, I still say Bobby owns this song.
Greatest hits
your snaping your fingers is distracting and takes away from hearing the song as it was meant to be.
Spot on. I stopped listening after 2 minutes. Couldn't stand the finger snapping...
Sorry, you guys! I will refrain myself next time. I hear something good and my body reacts. Duly noted👍🏼
Just in case you want to check out my latest reaction "Wild Cherry- Play That Funky Music" 🤗 I promise no more snapping! 🤦♀️ th-cam.com/video/7OiEsaPi0BE/w-d-xo.html
YEp- you were just a twinkle in your GRANDPARENTS eyes.. :)
I can listen to Bobby Hatfield and also his partner.
I knew about this song and the artist when I was 13... in the 80's .. no internet, you tube , til too. Snap chat, mtv, etc. .... smh with this new generation
The Righteous Brothers have a song called Soul and inspiration play the video I think you might like that one too
Thanks for recommending it. I will definitely go watch! 🧡💚💙

The artist performs. You listen don't talk
Geez, sorry! 💙
Amen. Watched a "Reaction" video a week or so ago and the woman doing it thought she could sing along with him. Actually, she couldn't sing along with herself and most of the comments were justifiably negative.
Try You Lost That Loving Feeling by The Righteous Bros.
If no one has told you, Stop the Snapping.
Had to stop listening to the finger snapping very quickly. Sorry
If you haven’t met Angelina Jordan why not? She is 13 but you must go back to when she was age 9 to start your journey and review her official black and white video of
I Put a Spell on You
Then watch her cover of Whitney’s
I Have Nothing at I think age 11
Over 180 covers to choose from plus her own music. Hooked welcome to the world of the barefooted angel that is AJ. No turning back. TY
Live Version was
Better than Studio
Take a look at The Righteous Brothers - Little Latin Lupe Lu (1963).
