Papa yam, I love that you acknowledged the similarities with the ducati supersport! Very 'close' in power, farkles, and MSRP. The displacement is different but the ethos I think is similar-ish. My problem with the supersport is the riding position is total ass, turned me off from the bike immediately. Sitting on it was almost like the handlebars were in my lap with my back being far too upright and straight, almost like I was riding a TTR125 with my balls up on the gas tank. I could hardly tuck in regular clothes, no way I could tuck in a suit! Trash! I recently got to sit on an RS660 (no test rides sadly, dealer called me to tell me they got one in each colorway, I had to wait just 1 day to be able to stop by, and they were already sold!) and thought the riding position was much more sporty, yet comfy on the back, but still be able to tuck chin to the tank. For those interested, I don't think the cbr650r is a fair comparison. At least for non-US countries. I picked up this year's Cbr650r for just over $12k AUD (9.1k usd) and the RS660 is poised to hit our streets soon at a staggering price range of 18.5-19k (plus on-road costs). A huge difference... @@JWard2 The number one thing you need to become a better rider is the right bike. And to become a better rider you need to be able to 'push' the bike and not the other way around. The RS is still way too much bike for ordinary riders on the street with cold tires but the fact that it has half the horsepower of a liter bike is a step in the right direction. If you're not an expert rider Yamaha's R7 is even better than the RS, considering it has 30hp less.

I hesitated to buy one. Got myself a used 1290 superduke GT instead, for 500€ less (and 18,000 miles). The 660 does look good, but it is a tad too expensive. Suspensions need to be upgraded, especially the rear shock. And there is waaaaay to much electronics. Cruise control and ABS I get it, but traction control on a 660... unnecessary.
@Vanessa Xoax I can compare because this bike should be in the 8k range. Not so long ago you had supersport hi-end 600cc's at the 10k mark... This tuono does look good, what makes me mad is too see that they prefered to put bluetooth and lcd screen instead of good suspensions... It also seems normal to compare new bike prices to used ones. @@bradleyland Get on the AF1 Aprilia forum. You'll actually enjoy doing your own service! And you'll have no choice but to agree that Aprilia has exceptional build quality once you're on the inside of the machine! I've got a deposit down on the Tuono 660 though as I prefer the naked bike.
I'd love it if I only had to drive 3 hours for a dealer. Where I live in Canada, I'd have to drive 10 hours, take a 6-hour ferry ride, and drive another 3-4 hours. *sigh*
@@sheldonnicholl3599 Where in Canada are you!?
For reference, I am just about Spite sized; 6' 2.5", 230lb / 105kg, 34" inseam, 83.5" reach (as measured like in boxing).
sounds like harley, handles like scooter, looks like supersport (when its street bike with fairing kit) , cost 30% more than in its class- your choice to buy or not :) - the only bits to go for - looks and electronics
and 93 bhp and 64 Nm in a 183 kg bike. That thing is quick
Not sure why. 4k extra is just not an affordable jump for the same power, famously unreliable servicing and some fancy electronics.
Agreed!! It makes sense to stick with Japanese right now (The exception being Indian which has proven itself over the years) and MAYBE old Harleys.
Gonna finally finish my A2 license in 2 months or so and when I get my A license in 2 years I'm definitely gonna look at a rs660 first
Its a shame they don't advertise it as 93 hp so you could make it A2 compatible.
@@Tupsuu It is A2 compatible lol
@@Am4gedon well actually you can't convert a motorcycle to A2 if it has more than 70kw of power which is ~94hp. Also the power to weight would be 0.207kw/kg at 35kw which is more than 0.2 so that is a no too.
@@Tupsuu well actually you can buy a A2 compatible version of the bike which has 70kw... You can even buy it with 35kw
@@Am4gedon oh i did not know that :). I need to go find out more about it. Getting my A2 in a year.
The Aprilia RS 660 is a Supersport Motorcyle for daily use and track days also without problems.
General warning for those who are jealous! : Any defamatory and slanderous comments that will one day be filmed as boomerangs and used against you!
Ordered one, hopefully coming early april and can't fucking wait
You bet your sweet ass I do. Alternatively, the Tuono 660 is a thing, so I'd happily take either one in any color way save for black.
You’re slowly convincing me that this may be my future second bike after a year or two on the Ninja 400...
Dont
@@ravagerxiii5488 so long as an individual is responsible and understands how to control the bike fully I think they could upgrade. Definitely upgrade man once that 400 is boring
@@TheJMan1K I think he meant “Don’t” cause I think this would be a terrible second bike , don’t trade or upgrade to parallel twin from a parallel twin , plus it’s only 259 cc of an upgrade in power , if you love your ninja 400 , move up to the z900 , zx6r , or zh2 , I believe that you’ll have lots more skill and experience to gain to add to your journey to becoming a better experienced rider ...
@@allancooper3865 ahh makes sense. I want a “real” sport bike but so far I’ve only got 4K budgeted for a bike (I’m in school still) but they’re lots of good Sportsters 1200 around my area in that range.
@@TheJMan1K unless you find a damn near brand new one , I would be very careful , you could put down $3000 like I did on a bike you really want and get payment of around 180 to 230 per month for no more than 36 months , for a brand new bike and throw some new gear in there , and you’ll still have a thousand left to get tools , extra filters , and a lot of things for the upkeep of the bike , if you buy used your going to have to put some investment into keeping it running correctly ..buy new if you can make that happen , used there are deals to be had but there are those money pitts be careful ..!!!
It would look good next to my CBR650F
beautiful
awesome
im still dreaming to own one of this bike
but still
its just a dream
godbless sir
ridesafe always
CBR600 F4I was the OG sporbike that wouldnt kill your back and still perform
I’d have bought one for my second bike, but there isn’t any Aprilia dealers in Alaska unfortunately. West coast US is the closest. So looks like I’ll have to settle for getting an R7 after this
love how you have to compare the rs660's exhaust note to a big lawn mower when we all know neither of them can touch the godly sounds the mt07 and sv650 make
Daddy Yam, Pound-Feet is lb.ft. Nm is Newton-Metres which is the metric unit, the superior unit >:)
On your vídeo the sound doesn't look that good. Comparing a 8000 dollars bike with a 12000 dollars bike doesn't seem ok to me 😅
@6:02 It is a great beginner bike because beginners aren't created equally and some of them are willing to go all-in at their first motorcycle - money being no object. ;)
yes, aprilia is only for beginners
Have you heard about the new hayabusa?
i wish they put a classic 600cc supersport sound on this bike... like zx6-r, cbr600, gsxr 600,
Not cheap here in Australia, looking at around $18500 to $19000 Aussie dollars.
you should try my daily driver the Aprilia rsv4 I luv it on track , but on the street it's a bit much
If you called a Ducati super sport an old mans bike than how can you love the rs660
I give this italian steed top slot for one year until the r7 comes out in 2022.
My motorcycle weighs 335 pounds dry . Single cylinder 185 CC , Honda 😐. This is considered fairly fast here.
Yeah this happens to be the new dream for sure LETS GET IT
That color scheme 🤤
Wanted to get one of these pretty bad but there's people that already have broken ones so changed my mind on that idea
Good bike and nice package for beginner.
This is going to be my first bike as a baby squid yet to pass my tests.
Everyone seems to avoid comparing the rs660 with the 890duke for some reson
Damn that's a really really nice bike tho
Fourth9 and yams need to do a collab
foot pounds is not the same as newtonmeters, yammie
Cheers I was really curious about whether i should get a Ducati or an aprilia next!
Quick shifter is a life saver on a daily ride
aprilia's quickshifter works as shit compared to hondas's
Haha You made an error.
In the torque part, it says 49 NM
Honda basically started this trend, kinda sporty, kinda comfy, around 100 hp every day sports bike. it looks better (imo), Honda reliability, great sound, and bro, it's way more comfortable than the RS, trust me I've tried em both. Honda for me.
The CBR600RR is also way more comfortable than a ZX6R, I own both. Honda is my favorite manufacturer by far, but I don't have anything against any of them.
It's looking way better than rsv4
i bought one of these from Euro cycle after watching this video. Paperwork was done in march still waiting for them to ship it to me. Never again.
Side by side unbiased comparison against the zx6r now
Yammie make a video on the royal Enfield interceptor 650
Considering it as a sport bike, not a drag bike, it's the best sportbike currently made...by a long way.
Why the best? I'm new here
@@JWard2 The number one thing you need to become a better rider is the right bike. And to become a better rider you need to be able to 'push' the bike and not the other way around. This is why the Moto3 class in Europe uses 50hp race bikes in their development class. Moto3 riders become MotoGP eventually if they're good enough. The RS is still way too much bike for ordinary riders on the street with cold tires but the fact that it has half the horsepower of a liter bike is a step in the right direction. If you're not an expert rider Yamaha's R7 is even better than the RS, considering it has 30hp less.
@@johncamara1650 ah gotcha. Thank you. I'm still learning
Honestly if a Ninja sounds like a lawnmower then this bike sounds like a Versys 650. I’d know. I own one lol!
Can't wait to see the comparison to the Trident 660!
Uh? The Trident is a entry level 3-cylinder roadster with 80hp and the RS 660 is a premium 2-cylinder sport GT with 100hp. Why would you compare these 2 models?
Maybe a comparison with the Tuono if you really want to...
@@thenateos Just seems like it would be fun, that's about it haha. Also because seems likely that they'll compare it idk maybe.
@@Burnout_Blanco Sure thing about Triumph: they can get into the game seriously if they manage to make a sport GT model based on the Street Triple 765 RS - a Daytona GT somehow.
Maybe for 2022 if the Aprilia becomes a best-seller this year.
2:12 that should be 67nm
i also depends on the country / continent you live on. I think for swiss supermotos are the best to ride sporty :D
When I heared in the beginning (when RS660 was showcased in motorshow) that its engine is the half part of the RS1100 engine, I thought It would be a V-twin but instead It has only the front half block of engine of RS1100.
What a disappointment.
It should have a V twin
There is more stock footage and memes in this video than actual video of the bike itself.
If you’re seriously looking at buying this bike 11:05 should help you out a lot
Got news for ya . Both bikes sound like lawnmowers. 😅And this bike though awesome as F”$& ! Is not comparable to a 636. Not even close. 650 yes but not 636 i have to disagree there. But great content as always man.
I don’t know brother most of the people that I talked to have told me it is 💩.... race team here keep blowing the engine ... I don’t know I’m gonna keep taking to other teams that own them and see what’s up
It’s Italian bro it’s made of 95% hype
Like the v2, so pretty, so many videos made it look outstanding. But then I watch small vloggers having a harder time cold starting a fuel injected computer controlled bike than I do with some of my 40 year old projects. Its all hype
Ninja 650 = Lawnmower
669 = Leaf blower
Most motorcycles today can easily pass the 100,000 kms mark...
Ridden motocross my entire life wonder if this bike would be a good road bike
Comparison to KTM 7/890 and Street Triple? Imho those are it's closest competitors.
Think we will get to see a new cbr650r or cbr600rr on the Channel?
