I love my NitroSurge and the NitroSurge cans. For having a drink at home and comparing it to most pubs in the UK, I don't think you can beat it! I can also get the temperature spot on in my fridge and don't have to drink the extra cold rubbish we mostly get here.
For the amount of videos you've done on the nitrosurge, it's actually impressive how you've managed to pour it wrong every single time. This is no exception. Watch The Guinnesseurs video where the actual inventor of the nitrosurge, Steve Gilsenan, explains how to use it. In short, you press it once and that's it!
My experience in the UK, plenty of cans, regular and nitro, in the supermarkets.. Was out in Manchester last week (Old Nags Head, underrated Guinness pub and pub in general!), no shortage, ration card etc. Nobody I know has had an issue. Merry Christmas all ❤
A normal Guinness draught, a big strong needle, and mini hammer...and the nitrosurge! Pierce the can just behind the pull at the weak point, let the air out gently...let it settle, open...pop on the nitrosurge...decent pint!
Same, off the beer almost a year, easily the best non alcoholic drink out there, really hits the spot for me although after 2 or 3 I do feel each one tastes a bit watery and hard to stomach.
I thought at first it was a gimmick. My sister got me a box of cans for my birthday a few years ago, turned out they were Nitrosurge cans, so I had to buy the gadget to pour it. Well I gotta say maybe it's the placebo effect, but they taste great, are much better than the normal draft can.
I was on a pub crawl in Winchester on Friday and was drinking Guinness all night. Some lovely pints with shtick! Thankfully I’ve seen no shortage in the UK.
For the first pour, we need to hold the can just above the horizontal for no bubbles matey👌 then 2nd pour wants to be a tad more past the horizontal. 🍻
Just love your channel just would love to see more pubs or places to visit when we come to Ireland and Irelands. What ever you choose to do is so great 😁.Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Cheers 🍻.
I absolutely didn't believe the shortage was gonna be a real thing until I tried to get a Guinness from my local and they had none. Had ordered 40 kegs apparently and Guinness couldn't give them any at all 😩 They had a local nitro stout which was fine but not quite right obviously
One of the most common comments I saw on your other nitrosurge videos is that you're not supposed to push the button a second time for the 2nd part of the pour. Why did ya do it again?
From Guinness. You don't press it twice..To eliminate bubbles when topping up, try to tip the can almost vertical quickly to fill the NITROSURGE chamber as fast as possible. There is no need to press the power button again for the top up. Listen mister, I'm not a pedantic man but this is an important subject
Free Christmas tip. If you come across a nitrosurge can and done have a device to pour it. Worry not…. Just shake the f out of the can for about 30 seconds and you’ll feel the pressure of the can change in your hand. Open it and two part pour for a perfect pint of the black stuff. Simple.
It doesn't affect me because I don't drink it anyway in the Uk but a live streamer I know that lives in Japan is saying they are also having issues with Guinness there. He said in some bars you have to drink three other brand pints before you have one guinness, as it's being rationed. So it's not just the uk.
Can’t get the Nitro cans in supermarkets round Derby, and a couple of weeks ago I went in a couple of pubs that had no Guinness. Pubs seem to have caught up this weekend. Would Holyhead being shut have any effect on UK supply?
Guinness contains around 0.3mg of iron per pint, which is about 3% of the recommended daily intake. which isn't significant enough to be of any health benefit.
Seen the shortage today on the Christmas booze run. I don't understand whats driving the shortage, all seems a bit mysterious. I do think they need to be careful though, Nitrosurge aside, if its widget Guinness V Widget Brewdog Black Heart I grab the Brewdog these days. I LOVE a good Guinness but they are pushing people to alternatives, and the shelves in my huge Tesco today was also running very low on the Brewdog. Merry Christmas Daragh, love the channel.
Went into Sainsbury’s today on 23 December in Newport, Wales they had no Guinness at all and also substitute equivalent’s of stout such as Black Heart were all sold out.
These are everywhere in the uk . Very popular with other nitrosurge cans . Also , lots of uk breweries are bringing out nitro surge stouts . None have come close to Guinness, but they have been good . Cheers 🍻. 😎 Merry Christmas and good luck for next year
It's definitally a maketing ploy. You would think with Gueinness being an English company that they would have plenty of Guinness to go around in their own country. Edit: I just learned they closed Park Royal brewrey in 2005
Daragh get yourself a Fizzics Draftpour and put a Nitrosurge through that. Much better than the Guinness device due to the constant surge whilst pouring.
Supermarket stocks seemed fine earlier this week, if anything it was piled high. Nitrosurge and cans still on the shelves. Plenty of Brewdog Blackheart as well. Just sorted out a twin keg and tap set up for my homebrew, the next step will add ons for mixed gas so I can have a nitro stout available 🤤🤤 Have a great Christmas break, sláinte!
Nitro cans have gone up by over a pound in less than a year. 8.50+ for 4 cans takes the piss at nearly double what regular cans are. Pub pints are also starting to take the piss. Guinness was an affordable pint before it got popular. Now it's 7 quid or more in a lot of places. Often close to 7 euro in Dublin as well and not just in tourist spots, but in Guru recommended places.
A friend taught me to be the bottles of Guinness and completely turn it upside down in the glass and slowly pull the top of the bottle out of the liquid keeping it submerged. It is actually the same as the nitro cans. 😂 In my opinion the bottles taste better than cans as it gets rid of the little metallic can taste. Either way, happy holidays and cheers to all of you and @daraghcurran from Greensboro NC in the U.S.!
just got mine this evening in tullow co carlow supevalue & got the device aswell the owner said they never sold a s much as they did this year...Huge demand
My local spoons said they have no shortage and it was still getting poured out for £3 a pint on Monday discount. (Don't hate me for saying spoons, there are 4 lovely people behind the bar that know how to pour properly. Otherwise i wouldn't drink it in there) 😂
Can't get Nitrosurge in South Derbyshire. Abit peeved having bought a device for 20 quid and now can't get cans for it. 🤔 Sorry Guinness but not good enough!
Im in the Uk I have been a long time Guinness drinker 20+ years, cant buy the stuff in supermarkets or pubs where I am, so changing brands and drinking other beers now. Fek em.
You poured that arseways lad. You need to turn the can almost upside down. Dont press it again on the 2nd pour. Guinnesseurs did a vid with the inventor where he covers it
Aside the the obvious pouring technique etc, the temp is everything - between 5-6°C has allowed me to pour consistently good velvet-esque creamers. A can at 3-4°C (the alleged optimal temp) does not create an even flow or fully allow the ultrasonic waves to create the vibrations aka 'surge'. I have also found this to be the case with cans chilled in the fridge for 24 hours.
Shortage my A-Hole... My local in south london sells more of a very credible rival called "London Black" by Ansbach and Hobday, which is excellent. They can spend all they like on marketing, but since they took out an ingredient that the veggies dont like, it just aint been the same..
We need a proper Guinness brewery in the UK so we can get the high standard cream nationwide, all the time fresh, with a compulsory course in glass hygiene to land lords and land lady's that are permitted to sell it🤷

I’m on 0.0 due to health, no issues with stock on them. Might try the nitrosurge on the zeros
