When I was visiting Ireland several years ago, I was at a pub in Kilkenny and they served me up some Kilkenny cream ale. To this day it is one of my favorites. As I'm in the States it's hard to come by. It's become my unicorn and anytime I can track it down I get a couple pints of it. Enjoy your reviews. Thanks!
I'm 39 it is 100% appreciation. Getting drunk is not fun as you get older but enjoying a drink is. I have a couple of pints or a couple of whiskies maybe once or twice a week and that is it. Much more enjoyable.
That Tudor looking building behind on the intro has a very interesting street behind it which leads to Dolier St. It's closed off now but it's a step back in time, bit like a street out of a Harry Potter movie
If you like Erdinger I think you'll absolutely love other German Weissbiers like Franziskaner or Paulaner. Aldi Rheinbacher Weissbier is an absolute steal too.
Get onto the Old peculiar if you're liking ales mate. Not overly creamy but the flavours are unbelievable. Can get it in tesco in bottles. Even better on the perfect draft !
This year I just had the best beer I have ever had. It was called "Weedy’s Rad Idea" Pumpkin Milkshake Hazy IPA from Dark Sky in flagstaff. I dont even know how to describe it...but it was the most interesting beer I have ever had, not an IPA by any traditional standards, but so incredible good. Typically I like stouts and porters, followed by brown ales...but this thing just flat out won.
That’s a really nice beer on nitro , it’s actually been around from O Hara’s for over 20 years in Irish pubs so it’s funny you are only discovering it now . But no disagreement that’s a very good beer .
You should also try the O’Haras Leann Follain stout. They’ve bottles of it in my local mace and it’s absolutely class. Even better than Wicklow wolf apex. O haras are putting out great stuff lately!
I work in a bank. I heard a trader talking about Guinness as a business. He said had a shortage recently. He then went on to say it was because of how popular Guinness drinking is now with Gen Z. I just thought “that is down to one man, the Guru himself”. Cheers Darragh. I wonder if I’ll find a pint of O’Haras in London…
Had this in Sean's Bar Athlone years ago - it's O'Hara's Red Nitro but they advertise it as Sean's Red Ale or something like that - worth ringing them up and checking if they still have it
I tried it first in O'Connells Bar next to the Ha'penny Bridge. Absolutely gorgeous pint. I have to agree, possibly my new favourite beer. But we have extremely similar tastes when it comes to pints. I'll always find myself with a Kilkenny when I get a chance but that O'Hara's was something else
Had a few of these from a can and they've always been decent. Tried Killkenny from a bottle and it wasn't great but I'll give it another go if I see it in the pub
Glad to see you broadening your pallet Daragh, we'll make an ale drinker of you yet. As you broaden your pallet you might want to revisit some beers you weren't keen on and see how your taste might have changed.
Feck, I’m off to get Kilkenny Cream Ale. I’m a Guinness drinker and actually like the Nitrosurge, but on your recommendation, I’ll try it and O’Haras Cream ale.. Feck, where’s me keys, I’m bucking parched now.
Fairplay Daz, I'm going with Daz as it's faster😂. Irishman in Oz here and when I go back home I always go find O'Haras, it's a quality product. Btw it's nice to see you isolating back into the old form with different beers. If you get a chance go to Bugalars and The Eden in Rathfarnham and check out the food and taps. I watch a fella from England just do the rounds and his views are off the charts as he just does reviews of what the locals want yet places the tourists will also go. Just a thought. I hope you make some good crust. ❤ btw my ole fella would be happy to show you around. He's got 40 years experience in both public houses. Reach out.
You should try Caffreys Irish Ale. Theres an irish pub in Glasgow I always get a pint o caffreys if im in. Used to do nitro cans of it but our shops in Scotland dont seem to stock it anymore. Such a shame
not a fan of red ales, but such videos make want to try them more 🍺 do you think the high price of the pint is also because people don´t drink it as much as other beer and when it becomes more popular, the price will drop?
Hey Daragh Have you ventured into the dark arts of The Porterhouse, the original bar on Parliament St. Great pint of plain porter, also their Red Ale (my personal favourite😉) I’d love to meet you there for a pint Cheers bud
I dropped into Mulligans today to try it. It is not as creamy as made out in the video. Dont be expecting a cremier than Guinness pint. But in saying that I enjoyed it. And what's the craic charging €7.60? That's just gouging.
Can't get killkenny in the uk i even emailed Guinness as for OHARAS for 24 cans they wanted £91 pounds this needs sorting uk someone needs to start importing this soon as
I just had it from a bottle in the UK and I didn’t rate it like this - not as creamy as a Guinness by a long chalk - tastes like an ale - the red ale from Murphy’s I had in Marsielle on draft was better - maybe on draft this tastes different - but I will say Oharas stout is top class from a can - 6/10’and 8/10 respectively.
Daragh. Love your beer vlogs, you cover my tastes well. On your manscape vlog, I had to lol. Many years ago I had a hernia op. Here’s a couple of verses from o poem I wrote about it. I’ve been and had my hernia fixed A traumatic event I must admit The first step said nurse with a sweet little grin Is go and get shaved, and I don’t mean your chin She offered to do it to which I declined As parts of a man are quite fragile you’ll mind The first bit is easy, as it’s lean and it’s sleek But under and over, its crinkled and weak The inventor of razors and inventor of balls Never conferred on the choice of the tools Said nurse when she checked it, it looks rather sore Just like a battlefield, all blood and gore Etc, etc, it goes on… lol
I've watched you drink many different beers but never Belhaven. You need to try it. There is Belhaven best which is an ale that is creamy as fuck. Belhaven McCallum which is a sweet stout and is pretty nice. And then there is my favourite beer, Belhaven black which is in my opinion superior to Guinness.
Watching you drink that reminds me of those 7 perfect guinness I had in some hotel nightclub in dublin 4 years ago. been chasing it ever since. I remember drinking it and the pint was gone in seconds. I couldn't believe it. It was absolute perfcetion, it wasn't even like i was drinking guinness. I've been to all the big hitters, all the pubs and some got close... there was just something about those guinness I had that night. WHAT CAUSING A DRINK TO JUST BE PERFECT?! I'd just been woken up as the club was right beneath my window, was abit raging it wa a long day, went down to check it out lady on the front desk said i get a free one since I'm staying, went in had a chat with the staff since it was only 2AM and it wasn't swinging yet. Mind was fucking blown... like they say chasing the dragon ever since.

Where have you been able to find it in the States?

It is excellent, can be hard to get in Ireland and ironically in Kilkenny too
I'm 39 it is 100% appreciation. Getting drunk is not fun as you get older but enjoying a drink is. I have a couple of pints or a couple of whiskies maybe once or twice a week and that is it. Much more enjoyable.
Totally agree, I am Same age and I have a pint occasionally on a dog walk. Appreciate it more now lol
The beauty of a pint or two as you get older is something to behold
I'm visiting Dublin in February. I'm gonna make a stop in this pub and I'll try out this beer.
I head over for the hurling semis most years & this place is the undisputed first & favourite stop
Great pub,You will enjoy it.
That Tudor looking building behind on the intro has a very interesting street behind it which leads to Dolier St. It's closed off now but it's a step back in time, bit like a street out of a Harry Potter movie
It's all over Britain and Ireland. You'd like lavenham in Suffolk if you like that style.
Fingers crossed it makes its way over to england im dying to try this one!!
If you like Erdinger I think you'll absolutely love other German Weissbiers like Franziskaner or Paulaner. Aldi Rheinbacher Weissbier is an absolute steal too.
Hell beers always a win for me
Yeah Franziskaner is so much better than Erdinger, and the Aldi Weissbier I think last time I had it was very similar if not almost identical to it.
I hate Franziskaner, it tastes like someone's squirted Savlon in my pint. Love the others mentioned though
Paulaner is the best, especially if you can get it on tap. Morrisons sell it. Aldi Rheinbacher is a nice cheaper alternative
Paulaner is a class beer
I'm able to get O'Haras here in Colorado. The stout is phenomenal.
Over 7 Euros for a pint is a fuckin' outrage....
Come to western us. Won’t find a decent pint below $8
Get onto the Old peculiar if you're liking ales mate. Not overly creamy but the flavours are unbelievable. Can get it in tesco in bottles. Even better on the perfect draft !

Sounds unreal mate and good to see you branching out so far from the black gear
I am a fan of a few cans of o haras Irish stout. Lovely aftertaste, could be creamier though. Would like to try in pub
Cant find this in the north. Had to order the cans online
They’ve loads of Kilkenny over here in the UAE, especially Dubai. They had it in Japan too all on draught
That looks delicious 🤤 will order some of that for Christmas
Definitely going to try that. Looks gorgeous
Looks incredible. If you like that style, I think you would also enjoy Old Speckled Hen on tap. Its a creamer.
You should also try the O’Haras Leann Follain stout. They’ve bottles of it in my local mace and it’s absolutely class. Even better than Wicklow wolf apex. O haras are putting out great stuff lately!
Had o haras red ale over here in Queensland Australia, lovely stuff
I work in a bank. I heard a trader talking about Guinness as a business. He said had a shortage recently. He then went on to say it was because of how popular Guinness drinking is now with Gen Z. I just thought “that is down to one man, the Guru himself”. Cheers Darragh. I wonder if I’ll find a pint of O’Haras in London…
That looks great. I'm assuming it isn't overly hopped like other craft ales?
If I see red ales here in Scotland they're a must have. Always delicious.
Red MacGregor from Orkney and Fire Light from Burnside are both class red ones that spring to mind.
Erdinger is amazing!!
whens it coming to the north? it looks amazing
If this is better than Kilkenny cream ale, I definitely need to try it!

"Picnic Beer" (Beer in a keg) always taste better, and in a bar / pub its all the better yet. Cheers!
Well ill be trying this when im back for Christmas at the weekend so! 🤣🤣.
Love O'Haras red too! I'm in Germany and can only get the cans. I do really like their stout too.
Glad to see you broadening your pallet Daragh, we'll make an ale drinker of you yet. As you broaden your pallet you might want to revisit some beers you weren't keen on and see how your taste might have changed.

This is a great recommendation if you want the worst hangover you'll ever experience lol
Waxy's have it from time to time but haven't been in there for years. I'm sure you can still get cans in Morrisons or Asda.
Great craic Daragh! Need to give O’Haras a try 🍺🍺🍺
As an alternative to a creamy pint of Guinness, Kilkenny and O' Haras Red Ale Nitro out of the fridge are absolutely delicious 😋😋😋😋😋
If there is one beer I love, but have not had since the 1980`s, its `Beamish Stout`, they don`t sell it mainland UK
Will definitely give it a go! Thx Daragh..
That looks absolutely beautiful I need some in my life 👍🍻
Have you tried London Black that it absolutely beautiful
Yes it’s on the channel 🍺
Storm Daragh in the house
I just paid $120 for 24 cans delivered to my place in California. I hope it’s worth it!
Nice one.
Can I get this and Kilkenny in the UK?
not a fan of red ales, but such videos make want to try them more 🍺
do you think the high price of the pint is also because people don´t drink it as much as other beer and when it becomes more popular, the price will drop?
I could get O'Hara's in Denmark 20 years ago because you normally drink local! Not Carlsberg/Tuborg :( Hancock heaven :)
Whats the chances of finding it here in SE England?
If you’re going to go on a Red Ale adventure I highly recommend finding a Sullivan’s Red Ale An amazing pint. Sullivans is out of Kilkenny.
Will order some cans online and try it ; look forward to it 🍻
Hey Daragh
Have you ventured into the dark arts of The Porterhouse, the original bar on Parliament St. Great pint of plain porter, also their Red Ale (my personal favourite😉) I’d love to meet you there for a pint
Cheers bud
I’ve gotta try that beer. And Mulligan’s is such a great pub.
Have U tried Caledonia red draught it's lovely
Massage 5.0 Ultra. Not sure, does it come in TURBO DIESEL ?
Was drinking the Porterhouse Nitro red ale years before this came out. Go to the Porterhouse temple bar and try the Nitro red.
Love Dublin pubs, but the prices are mental
Probably like a Caffreys if anyone remembers that
Darragh Kilkenny is a red ale too. The cream thing is marketing not a beer style. A cream ale IS a beer style but it's nothing like these.
Close to tears drinking that cream 😂
6,90 on Black Sheep Capel St
I went here in June, think you was the Man who opened my eyes to the joint. 🍻
I’m off to Mulligans haha
You are the Guinness Guru and you’re not allowed to have another favourite!
Try 9 white deer man stag stout man, got a keg , its unreal , similar to guinness and gluten free
Where can i find this in London!
You can find it in McEwan's Scotch Ale Pub at 3 Savile Row. It's a great place for food, as well. Cheers, mate!
My favourite was Smithwicks blond. They got rid of it!!!
Savage beer, used to love a few pint bottles of it out the fridge. Could never find it on draught
Sullivan's Red Ale all the way. Canned O'Hara's is good but I don't think the nitrogen adds anything to the experience.
The best Red Ale I’ve ever had
Sullivan's is my fave, too. Best in the Brewery Pub in Kilkenny.
Much more taste off Sullivan's, a very nice ale.
Darragh likes the smoothness off the nitro ,Guinness etc
Sullivan's has more flavour etc.a really nice ale
Darragh likes the smoothness the nitro gives like Guinness etc
Gave it a go after your last video don’t know if I’d drink it all night but no doubt it’s a nice drink
Like the sound of this brew ❤
Anyone know where I can get a pint of this in Wexford? Ta
Brennans bar Enniscorthy
Normal red ale no nitro in Simon lamberts Wexford
I dropped into Mulligans today to try it. It is not as creamy as made out in the video. Dont be expecting a cremier than Guinness pint. But in saying that I enjoyed it. And what's the craic charging €7.60? That's just gouging.
Intrigued! Mothers Milk is a strong sentiment 😳🇮🇪
Great Video, looks ace, im looking for it now in me next boozer, cheers bro.
Thick, milky, creamy & rich. Must give it a go.
DARRAGH DID YOU GET THE HAIR PLUGS IN TURKEY?
Good christ, that pint looks delicious.
Can't get killkenny in the uk i even emailed Guinness as for OHARAS for 24 cans they wanted £91 pounds this needs sorting uk someone needs to start importing this soon as

O’Hara’s red ale in btl has no Nitro
There nitro Red is available in Can like the stout
nitro beers are creamy ,but lack taste
Daragh. Love your beer vlogs, you cover my tastes well. On your manscape vlog, I had to lol. Many years ago I had a hernia op. Here’s a couple of verses from o poem I wrote about it.
I’ve been and had my hernia fixed
A traumatic event I must admit
The first step said nurse with a sweet little grin
Is go and get shaved, and I don’t mean your chin
She offered to do it to which I declined
As parts of a man are quite fragile you’ll mind
The first bit is easy, as it’s lean and it’s sleek
But under and over, its crinkled and weak
The inventor of razors and inventor of balls
Never conferred on the choice of the tools
Said nurse when she checked it, it looks rather sore
Just like a battlefield, all blood and gore
Etc, etc, it goes on… lol
Here we go boys, "O'Hara G'Huru" for 2025!
Got to try some of this in Mulligans at the end of October - good lord, it's unreal!
I've watched you drink many different beers but never Belhaven. You need to try it. There is Belhaven best which is an ale that is creamy as fuck. Belhaven McCallum which is a sweet stout and is pretty nice. And then there is my favourite beer, Belhaven black which is in my opinion superior to Guinness.
split the h as well very important 6:53
LOVE
Storm Daragh!
How to make a beer more bland, I'll tell you. Use nitrogen and that particular beer is even more bland than Guinness, at least to my taste
I drink 5 pints of Nigerian Guinness a night and I will die happy
PLEASE CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY THE GUINNESS GURU CHANGED THE NAME OF HIS CHANNEL AS I'VE BEEN AWAY FROM SOCIAL MEDIA FOR 3 YEARS 😊
Holt's new stout it's very nice
best mass produced stout right now is Wye Valley's nightjar, incredible, everything Guinness isn't
I agree. Wish they did it in cans
Sales figures says otherwise
@@paddymuppybest and most popular are 2 different things
Ooo Mullys
Ah, Mulligan's
Their stout is horrific. The red ale is nice though.
Putting a thirst on me. Great video. must try.

👍👍👍 🍻
4.3% anything below 5% is a waste of time 😂
ffs you made me desperate to try it - and I'm in the car for another few hours..
