    Just a quick thought. If she switched her cell to Mint mobile, she could easily save $75 a month.

      You are speaking from a place of privilege & not taking into account the poverty trap. To be on Mint you must own your phone. A lot of people don’t have the funds for that and are trapped in a contract with a phone on payments.

    Great advice!! Nice breakdown and explanation on how to get caught up and move forward. Such a stressful situation, been there a few times as a single mama and it is overwhelming. This breakdown will give your friend some breathing room and it is temporary! Really enjoy your channel.

    Enjoyed your video, cutting out those items like Hulu and Netflix temporarily won’t hurt anyone. And not buying clothes for a while won’t hurt either, most people have closets full and don’t wear everything they have. No need to buy all the time, just use up what you have 😊 I always enjoy your videos 🎉

    Thank you for this video. I need to get my finances on track and this was very helpful. I just wrote out all my bills like you did here and OMG! it was very eye-opening. Lots of work to do but I will use the tips here to get things in order. Just curious, what kind of coding do you do? I do SDS and Obs. 🙂

    I love your videos! Question for you about getting trained to be a medical coder. What school/business did you go through for that?

    • @lymanjoy
      @lymanjoy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ahima and AAPC are amazing schools online, so they can be done anywhere. It does depend on what type of coding medical office, specialty, or hospital.

    Sometimes electric companies will spread the behind amount over a 12 month period. So her monthly bill would go up slightly for 12 months. Also, look at local churches or food banks to do your shopping at. One of my local churches has a great food bank. And you dont have to be a member. Just live in our county. They even help with bills. That way, your grocery bill will be even lower so you. An save a little bit more.

    People with negative money after their bills from income shouldn’t have cable. Get one or two streaming services you like.

    If a person is not smart enough to get rid of Spotify, Audible, Hulu, etc. when she owes money to a utility, they are most likely beyond hope.

    • @lymanjoy
      @lymanjoy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think sometimes we just need to lay it all out. That's the key. It's hard to see an issue when we are close to it.

    • @mangayakposowa4334
      @mangayakposowa4334 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not true, their situation wasn’t even the worst. Ppl have made way worse decisions and have come out of it. Giving things up isn’t always the solution. In fact, it can make things worse. You can always choose to make more money. If you can’t pay your rent, giving up Netflix is just going to leave you homeless with no entertainment lol
