      Jørn Larsen same! Working on material currently. I have an overview on some of it out now. The video actually uses a nexus device to make the example, but the principles apply to the enterprise stuff as well. It’s a bit longer and sort of free form, so maybe up the speed. Just shows my process for creating a python script that configures ospf on a nexus using the API. Working on more enauto/enterprise related examples currently and hope to put some out soon

    Very relatable Video. I am busy studying for the CCNP Encor right now. All videos you watch tells you how you need CML or EveNG cause "Professional Level" labs use features that does not work on Packet tracer... I understand the concept of having to do complex labs to retain knowledge butter BUT for me (and it seems like it was the same for you), when looking at the exam topics and reading the Cisco Press book, it turns out to be a lot more theory based ("vocabulary" as you mentioned).
    I am telling people its just like the CCNA except that you don't get those "fundamental" questions. All questions are harder but the concept is much the same as CCNA

    Thanks for your feedback, in regards to the CCNP ENCOR exam. I'm about to schedule for my exam soon. I plan on going for the exam in the fall (early December). I have Boson, the Official Cert Guide, and CBT Nuggets. If you don't mind me asking, how were you studying a day? As far as reading the book, doing labs, and doing practice questions and answers? I've already read the entire OCG book.

    • @AlexGrayTech
      @AlexGrayTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you read the entire book, I would take one boson practice test, then take note of your weak domains. Lab that out, take the same practice test again in study mode and review the explanations / white papers. Then after you feel more confident, take another practice test to see if you improved. I think boson gives 3 tests, so use them wisely! Don't get into a habit of memorizing what the boson answers are :D Best of luck!!! Thanks for watching :D

      no problem! PT is great but it does have some limitations when you get in to the advanced topics unfortunately. I'm trying to put together some more within its limitations. • @dota2tournamentss

    Hi Alex! I have question about Encore OCG. I've read that the book does not cover enough, so there are recommendations for cisco whitepapers. I'd like to hear your opinion on that.

    • @AlexGrayTech
      @AlexGrayTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, I think you definitely have to do some labbing. As you do labbing you inevitably end up reading some white papers or troubleshooting why your lab isn’t working. So in that sense the book may “not be enough” but in terms of exposure to the topics they will test you on I think the book is good. You should always supplement whatever exam with labs and white papers, but I don’t think you need to buy anything else to study ENARSI besides the boson practice tests and whatever you need to get the practice lab going

    • @AlexGrayTech
      @AlexGrayTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For depth for exam, the OCG book does a great job of going just as deep as you need, and you can compliment that with Boson. for real life obviously goes as deep as you can and as deep as your role requires but for the exam the OCG and Boson will tell you exactly how deep to go

    Great job man 👍🏻. If I may ask a stupid question: in the ccnp exam do you have to take two exams to be certified as ccnp? And did the exam contain a lab or it is only multiple choices and drag and drop?

    • @AlexGrayTech
      @AlexGrayTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Faisal Alanazi thanks! Yes you do have to complete two exams to be fully CCNP. The core (ENCOR) and then you have a choice of specialization. As far as question types, I don’t want to say anything due to the non-disclosure agreement. I will say that some questions you probably wouldn’t be able to answer without labbing. I suggest you lab out the concepts that give you trouble, and prepare your self for lots of multiple choice questions!

    Recently took the exam and certainly, you need more info than just the book. The book offered a high-level view on some topics. While I was taking the exam, I realized, I should have to go deeper on those. In my opinion, it is not exactly a Vocabulary test. It's a little more than that. The exam had long questions with topology and CLI outputs that you need to understand to apply the right solution.

    • @AlexGrayTech
      @AlexGrayTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment. I guess I maybe already had most of the cli and output stuff from CCNA. That’s why the rest / majority seemed like a vocab test to me. Also, maybe they changed it some since I took it as it was relatively new. I’m not sure how that process works. Additional methods never hurt for studying!

    What hardware did you use to lab it up, and roughly how much time were you labbing vs studying the topics?

      I use a mix of eve-ng with vios / iou images, and real gear. I work for Cisco so luckily I have access to all the toys. Packet tracer is enough for just about everything on here though. I lab like a fool just because my end goal is CCIE, but for this particular exam you just need practice deciphering output from say EIGRP or OSPF...maybe to interpret how to modify an ACL to affect traffic flow stuff like that.

      Hey I am not sure if I can disclose but there are a few discussions out about the topic. You need to be able to answer multiple choice questions about all the topics for the most part

      I am taking the exam on Friday as my CCNP expires on the 31st July. Did you say there was 100 questions? How was that split up in terms of normal format questions and drag and drop then? Cheers

      Man Sympa I think you can do the encor if you devote your self to it! One month is a bit fast for encor. Maybe 2-4 months is realistic depending how much time you put in :) security + is good but only
      If the jobs you want require it or you’re trying to set yourself apart on resume

    Ever tried using INE or CBT Nuggets? If so, thoughts?

    • @AlexGrayTech
      @AlexGrayTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use both, and while CBT is more 'fun' INE is way more in depth and technical. INE is the real deal of networking training. CCIE quality!

    • @kingdomquotes
      @kingdomquotes 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlexGrayTech yes im using both as well and noticing the same thing. Would you say that CBT Nuggets covers enough to pass the CCNP? Or still need the OCG? If so, I'd rather learn from CBT to be honest.

    • @AlexGrayTech
      @AlexGrayTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh yeah, CBT is fine for CCNP. I always supplement my learning materials, trying not to use only one source. But you could use CBT and Boson. Or CBT and just read white papers on the exam topics from Cisco's website. I'm not sure I would only use CBT by itself but in terms of video course and content they should cover the CCNP pretty well. Obviously labbing as well for some of the concepts where it applies
