I agree. Nicole not voting for McCain was patriotism. Nicole didn't vote for McCain because she thought Palin was extremely unqualified to be VP and it took guts to admit that.
Yet she worked on the campaign after Palin was picked. Patriotism, my ass. But "I snubbed Palin" does sound great on an application to work for MSNBC and when negotiating for a multi year deal worth millions. So brave not voting for a republican president in New York, california or DC.

@@Nikkyeshiva83 Obviously she knew her vote wasn't going to decide the election even if she lived in a battleground state, but the fact that she worked on McCain's campaign and saw that Palin wasn't qualified to run a hot dog stand, let alone the country, was reason enough not to vote for McCain who was in his 70's and could have ended up dying and leaving the country in the hands of an idiot who she knew was too ignorant and unhinged to hold office. Trump is kind of like a dumber male version of Palin with even less experience in government and his presidency was a dumpster fire.
I would respect Wallace had she refunded every cent of salary she received working on that campaign.

The movie makes John McCain look like a very good, sincere man. Nicole didn't want to vote for Palin. It had nothing to do with John McCain.

Wallace joined the Campaign AFTER Palin was picked. She worked on the Hillary Campaign, than went to work in the Bush White House and when Palin was picked, 15 people were sent to the McCain campaign. Wallace hated Palin before she ever met her, because she wanted Hillary to be the first female in the White House. Listen to her words today. They tell the whole story.

She was there to pick up a check, and I'm sure she left the whole "I couldn't vote for mccain with Palin on the ticket" off of her application to MSNBC. Come on. This is one thing Republicans really screw the pooch with and it seems like almost a nervous twitch of theirs - they spout off about how terrible something is, then proudly bark about how they'll never see or read it. That's like saying, "I love sex and proud to be a virgin"
Ms. McCain displays that very thing because the ONLY character in Game Change who had his shit together was John McCain and they portrayed him as very rational and intelligent. Unlike other commentaries and pieces that have needlessly torn him apart with absolutely zero corroboration, let alone merit.

John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin was horrible but, he was way behind in the polls and wanted to do something to make a move and get noticed. Sadly, there were other Republican women who were far more qualified than Palin. She had only served as governor of Alaska for a brief time before stepping down.
She didn't vote for Obama though, she just left the ballot blank for president.
Nicole Wallace would absolutely have voted for Mccain if he had a solid running mate that the people could trust to be ready o take over should something happen to Mccain. I know others who supported Mccain for President until they realized how woefully unprepared/uneducated Palin was.
The movie was completely fair in portraying Nicole Wallace and Schmidt's responsibility in choosing Palin. It didnt trash her, it actually gave reason to be sympathetic to her for being thrown into a situation she had no business in

A job is a job, it doesn't have to control your political votes. I don't blame someone for working for someone but voting for someone else. Your vote is yours, and yours only, you don't owe any excuses for the way you vote. I have never taken Meghan McCain seriously, she sees the world through Republican glasses, and that's it. She doesn't choose her views on what is right or wrong, she only toes the Republican talking points and the Republican line.
