Let me get this right. She was director of the secret service for less than two years. The fine people at the rally should take her job. They were more competent and aware of the threat than her hire-a-cop. Rest in peace Cory ✨️ 🕊
Just my two (hundred?) cents, the director answers every question as though she's just a stooge; a yes-ma'am who tells people what to do because she's told what to tell them to do, and thus doesn't actually see herself as responsible, no matter how much she claims she is taking responsibility. That's how in one breath she can claim responsibility, then finish her sentence with "I don't have any explanation or answers for anything." I'm not implying there's a conspiracy behind her, I'm simply using the old Sherlock Holmes method of deductive reasoning: "Take away the impossible, and whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth." Let's say she has been ordered by someone or some agency with the authority to do so that she cannot disclose any information contained within an ongoing federal investigation; if that's the case, while she then would be unable to disclose that information, she could still simply say "I cannot disclose any information about an ongoing federal investigation that might compromise that investigation, were it to be made publicly available before the investigation had reached its conclusion." Notice, however, the answers she does give, repeatedly, over and over and over again. "I'm asking those questions myself." "That is something the FBI would have to tell you." "It's part of an investigation." "I don't have that in front of me right now." "I don't want to disclose communications with my subordinates." What do all of these have in common? They're completely empty, devoid of any substance, smoke and mirrors. Worse than not providing an answer, they provide what I like to call "less than an answer". This is because, instead of providing clarity, these responses all add more questions, such as "why?" The event has already come and gone, which means everything that needed to be decided, such as the perimeter, is in the past, the event has happened, so all those details are set in stone and not subject to change. Those are facts. There is absolutely no reason why, over a week later, she should still be "asking those questions", they had a perimeter, it was decided on whether it was good or bad, and the information about it exists, so there is absolutely no reason why the director of the agency should not instantly have that answer provided to her and ready to present at a hearing. "Why?" If it's impossible for her to be unable to gain this information, being, as she is, the director of the agency, and thus should have access to nearly every detail (after all, she claims she spoke to the counter-sniper herself), we must move on to what is improbable. It is very improbable that she is so utterly incompetent, or powerless and without respect by her own subordinates, that, in more than a week, she would still be unable to obtain basic information about one of the most egregious security breaches in the agency's history; if this is true, that means she is either catastrophically incompetent by means of being completely unaware of what basic information she should be asking for (and thus unfit for her post), or completely lacking the power and authority within her own agency, over her own subordinates, to get them to provide her with the most basic information (and thus, unfit for her post.) Either of these two paints her as an extremely incapable leader over an agency considered to be so important; it means she is in a position where, before a congressional hearing, at which she was present only because she was under a subpoena, she, as the person nominally in charge of the actions of the secret service, has no information or apparently no way to get it expedited to her, either of which in turn paints the agency itself as completely incompetent and untrustworthy. So is she just a figurehead with no power, no authority, no actual oversight over the actions of her underlings, leaving them free to do whatever they feel like doing with the billions of dollars their agency receives, or has she really fumbled as unbelievably monumentally as her responses make her appear to have done? Again, all she'd have to do, whether it was satisfactory or not, would be to say "that set of details is currently classified as part of a federal investigation that would be jeopardized if the information was released to the public prior to the close of the investigation." Sure, this takes it out of her immediate hands so that she wouldn't have to answer, but it provides an answer to "why?" A professional in any agency, industry, business, line of work, or whatever else, especially one at the very top of their organization, should never have a good reason to obfuscate an answer so much that it leaves people wondering why you feel so deathly compelled to obfuscate. It implies worse than incompetence, it implies worse than ignorance, it implies even worse than trying to cover up for an honest mistake or set of honest mistakes. It suggests fundamentally unsettling implications regarding where she really fits in the chain of command within our government; who answers to her, and who does she answer to? She claims the buck stops with her and that she will be taking responsibility, but the only thing she has shown when being asked to actually step up to the responsibilities she claimed she would be taking is an immovable desire to redirect, deflect, and skirt around practically every single question. 29 years in the agency, she says? Worked her way up through the ranks, she says? Doesn't that imply that she has an incredible wealth of knowledge, understands much of what the agency is responsible for from top to bottom from having been there, and likely has every necessary connection to ensure all of those elements work well? Surely achieving her lofty status after such a long and illustrious career implies that she couldn't be incompetent, and surely not so powerless that she has no functional authority over her minions. I feel like we should be able to comfortably write off these two possibilities as 'impossible', but there is unfortunately the specter of her own stance on forcing "diversity" into her agency; maybe she really is that incompetent and got the job on a recommendation or something instead of actual merit and capability, or maybe she really doesn't have any power at all. Both of these possibilities would be remedied by her immediate dismissal or resignation, and replacement with a competent, capable, intelligent, resourceful, and well-informed successor. Unfortunately, *again*, that means the final two categories of possibility remain just that; possible. Those two, "Really bad" and "Worse", I probably would not be considered "within my freedom of speech to say", as it were. I'm sure they're self-evident at this point and that I shouldn't have to put myself in jeopardy to state them.
Good questions raised why she’s not using her experience to get to the bottom of things urgently wanting 60 days sounding like she’s almost passively involved taking in info. It’s bad.
After being bombarded with so many questions, its amazing how tolerant the committee is, as the Secret service director she doesn't have any paper nor. data to proof nor prepare her answers this is absolutely unacceptable! Its such a clear cut answer that the Americans should have a rude awakening and call its almost a walk over for Trump camp
Local law enforcement said they werent allowed in the command room. So by her admission they had no communication with local law enforcement as they used a separate radio channel. Wow.
These hearings should be held out of public eye for security reasons. If proceedings prove someone acted wrongly then the employer should reprimand those who failed to provide perimeter/roof coverage. Learn from mistakes.
I’m not standing up for her totally, but I will say 9 days isn’t a lot of time to get everything investigated. I do agree she should’ve had more time, why are we in a rush? Why not give her an extra week or two? You really think having us wait another 1-2 weeks for an investigation to be completed will put Trump or someone else in danger? Nah. They’re on high alert now.
Lol, she's not a Republican. Bannon and Navarro served prison time for contempt of Congress while 15 members of Biden's administration are currently in contempt of Congress. Only one side is ever prosecuted.
I would like to replace her, I have NO idea what the secret service does but evidently the director doesn't need to! So that makes me absolutely qualified!
Surprised she didn’t send the TSA. If she were a CEO of a company that was negligent and cost a life because of that negligence, she would be sued into oblivion, BUT as a government employee, FAILURE is always an option when there are no repercussions. I, as a canadian, could have answered these questions better from what we all learned about the attempt online. Ridiculous!
They talk about resign or fire...!!!???...somebody lost life because her.How abours criminal charge and jail time..????
The buck stops at the top with Jackass Joe.
Joe isn't even the top, he's merely a puppet for the kind of permanent bureaucracy and evil oligarchy that exists
The new Secret Cervix is a fuckin joke
Just my two (hundred?) cents, the director answers every question as though she's just a stooge; a yes-ma'am who tells people what to do because she's told what to tell them to do, and thus doesn't actually see herself as responsible, no matter how much she claims she is taking responsibility. That's how in one breath she can claim responsibility, then finish her sentence with "I don't have any explanation or answers for anything."
I'm not implying there's a conspiracy behind her, I'm simply using the old Sherlock Holmes method of deductive reasoning: "Take away the impossible, and whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth." Let's say she has been ordered by someone or some agency with the authority to do so that she cannot disclose any information contained within an ongoing federal investigation; if that's the case, while she then would be unable to disclose that information, she could still simply say "I cannot disclose any information about an ongoing federal investigation that might compromise that investigation, were it to be made publicly available before the investigation had reached its conclusion."
Notice, however, the answers she does give, repeatedly, over and over and over again. This is because, instead of providing clarity, these responses all add more questions, such as "why?"
The event has already come and gone, which means everything that needed to be decided, such as the perimeter, is in the past, the event has happened, so all those details are set in stone and not subject to change.
It is very improbable that she is so utterly incompetent, or powerless and without respect by her own subordinates, that, in more than a week, she would still be unable to obtain basic information about one of the most egregious security breaches in the agency's history; if this is true, that means she is either catastrophically incompetent by means of being completely unaware of what basic information she should be asking for (and thus unfit for her post), or completely lacking the power and authority within her own agency, over her own subordinates, to get them to provide her with the most basic information (and thus, unfit for her post.)
Either of these two paints her as an extremely incapable leader over an agency considered to be so important; it means she is in a position where, before a congressional hearing, at which she was present only because she was under a subpoena, she, as the person nominally in charge of the actions of the secret service, has no information or apparently no way to get it expedited to her, either of which in turn paints the agency itself as completely incompetent and untrustworthy.
Could you please run for president?
BEAST!!!
Get women away from jobs like this. Insane that they are in positions of security and force...
All the goliaths afraid of one Davy. Priceless !!!!!
No radio recordings for that day. How could i have guessed that one
A good man DIED because of her incompetence . A father, a husband, a firefighter. She needs to be charged not just dismissed
With all the requests to quit and from bipartisan efforts, this hard woman stands firm. Why?
100% agree with Kevin James!
He upgraded to being a threat seconds before the guns, the gunfire started 5:53 😮
THIS IS CRMINAL ! MAKE HER ACCOUNTABLE!
Maybe.... If President Jill says it's ok.....
Americans Together America Strong
Good questions raised why she’s not using her experience to get to the bottom of things urgently wanting 60 days sounding like she’s almost passively involved taking in info. It’s bad.
probably because she too, is just a puppet.
Do you know why she picks up her pen right before she answers for certain questions?
When she scratches her nose, she's doing the lie thing.
Yes. touching your face implies lying
Im guessing that you know this from doing it yourself?
When the President wakes up from his nap...baahahhahahah
Stop grilling her. Sloped roofs are sexist. Timelines too.
She needs to step down Now
A man is dead and others injured because of the deliberate “incompetence”
No communication cohesion. FAILURE!
This guy asked the best questions IMO!
The question is: Who hired this DEI horror story of a woman and is this person still employed???
.
Apparently, it was Joe Biden who gave her this position. 😑 Surprise, surprise...
Crooks went from being suspicious to a threat AFTER eight shots went off!!!
I'm starting to get that feeling she may be relocating to a Colorado Federal Supermax prison cell soon.
Lol, she's not a Republican. Bannon and Navarro served prison time for contempt of Congress while 15 members of Biden's administration are currently in contempt of Congress. Only one side is ever prosecuted.
Doubtful, unfortunately
I would like to replace her, I have NO idea what the secret service does but evidently the director doesn't need to! So that makes me absolutely qualified!
29 years TOO LONG AND STALE!!!!
Surprised she didn’t send the TSA. If she were a CEO of a company that was negligent and cost a life because of that negligence, she would be sued into oblivion, BUT as a government employee, FAILURE is always an option when there are no repercussions. Resigning, guess the father that died protecting his family would have liked to walk away. Disgusting
Hey, it is an ongoing investigation you know. What a bunch of liars.
Right? If we where under oath we'd be made to give an answer. She can't dance around all the answers and everything is fine. I'm not even American and this is an absolute disgrace and it makes me sick
Well paid Liars.
It's an on going lying fest to deceive ....darn I was so naive growing up...i.m surprised mayorkas and several others aren't seated around her in a circle...
"reassigned"= moved to another division and given a pay increase
