I just discovered the travel edition. My immediate thought was whether there is any randomisation. That's one of the main things about the game, working out your strategy based on the layout! The board itself doesn't necessarily need to be randomised but at least randomise the numbers! Such a shame, I would have bought this on the spot. I guess you could make your own number tokens or spend the £20 (!!!) to buy a set. Edit: I just thought you could possibly cut the numbers out with some sort of circular punch. You might need to mark which way up they go but that could be an option!
The earlier Mayfair version has individual tile but the numbers are fixed and it has a fixed desert in the centre. Still waiting for the definitive version of Travel Catan….
They should have come to you before putting it out there. The individual hex-tiles of the previous version and a pop-o-matic dice roller would have taken it to the next level.
I seed a few traveler editions of game but what do you think is best designed one? When i have go shopping or got to a good doctor got to drive 2 or more house because my town has bloody nothing in store and the hospital is run but bloody stupid blokes
I don’t play Settlers of Catan as often as once but it still comes out from time to time. The game, that is. I already have a mini-compendium of travel versions, so won’t be purchasing this for £45(!). It looks bloody ugly too.
Is there a gamebook series where you can play the bad guy? In Fighting Fantasy the only example I recall is a choice in Scorpion Swamp. That choice was not done well. For instance Return to Firetop IMHO was a joke. Surely having you play the warlock that you became in the first book would have been better. You choose a weakness. You choose wear to put stuff that can beat you e.g eye of cyclops. Then you defend Firetop as The Warlock against an adventurer. This could have brought in the broader world of Allansia. I liked Trial of Champions better ; you won Death Trap Dungeon so you continue against other champions.

I like the size but I'd agree that the price point seems a bit high for what you're getting.

i have seen this at our local FLGS demo library, it seems to be a pretty high quality game in terms of what the components are
